ROFL LMAO LOL OMG MS MBA SAT GMAT

Graeme smith the great captain struggling even at home.almost out

Indians taking their time in getting through overs..and it's not like the Saffers are sending the ball continuously to the boundary

how on earth did this guy get selected? him playing test cricket is an insult to the format. unadkat will not be around for a long time. bowls slow and can't even seam or swing it in friendly conditions

Where's the queue to kick Dhoni's ass? I'd like to be in on it. He deserves it for:

1 Playing Raina ahead of Pujara
2 Playing Unadkat ahead of Umesh Yadav
3 Losing the &%% toss!

Ok Boys (Indian ones) we lost this one, time to prepare for the next test....... On a positive note India always start most overseas tour rather slow...

Salam All,

How is this new guy Unadkat bowling? Is he fast? Is he moving the ball?

He bowled well in U19s and in India A's tour to England.

anyway in india if you wanna be selected as bowlers just speak to WASIM AKRAM ...than you will be in next series lol

Guys as much as I am enjoying this don't count India out. They have made a habit of coming back.

Ishant Sharma making runs. Bhaji hitting 100s. Funny things have happened

S.A 91/0

Are they playing on same wicket as yesterday? :)))

Hope S.A score 500 here and win by an Inns! :)

Not much in pitch for Indian spinners Sardarji and Unadkat!

Bhajji making 100s is only possible on Indian flat tracks. Id like to see him get past even 50 in SAF.

50 for Smith, hes on the rampage here! India need a wicket or five! ;)

if you would like to try and construct a decent argument as to why SRT and Dravid are not great players, and as to why Sehwag and Laxman are not very good ones, be my guest...

They are good. But they're not great. I argue if Kallis, Amla , Smith and De villiers had played as much cricket as they have on the same wickets they're average far higher than them.

And it's not that they've only failed once in S.a. They consistantly have failed here. They don't just look "average" on our pitches they look clueless and frightened. First Donland and De Villiers then Donald and Pollock, Then Ntini and Pollock then Morkel and Steyn have owned every Indian Batsman produced in the last 15 years who toured South Africa. This is what batting too much on flat tracks tell you. Noticed a trend yet ?

Atleast ishant is bowling well?
I wonder where all the limited over bowlers for india disappear off to for tests. I know nehra has fitness problems, but what happened to praveen kumar/munaf/a few others that i forgot?

Just see the link of thread before i gave you,in case you haven't.

praveen kumar nible's the ball around but he only reaches 78mph sometime's and our friends Saeed Ajmal's quicker balls speed is also around 70mph

and our Afridi quickers ball is around 80mph

Away records:

Dravid - 56 avg, 17 tons
Tendulkar - 55 avg, 27 tons
Sehwag - 50 avg, 10 tons
Laxman - 45 avg, 9 tons

Dravid and Tendu have what is it, 50,000 career runs between them? FIFTY THOUSAND. I doubt they all came on pancakes and slow/lows. these are good players dude, better than good. their away records are better than many player's career records. if you are making the point that they have disappointed in SA, fair enough. but the first guy was the typical 'omg indians can only play at home lolz' fanboy - a lot of people hold this view and they are all wrong.

SA has just crossed 100 mark with no loss of wickets!!

With start like this, it will be a missed chance if they don't get to 350+ considering Amla, AB, Kallis are yet to come!

Indian fast bowling is seriously bad.

Zaheer is the only one that is world class. The three bowling today are looking horrible.

SA trailing by just 31.

By the way, Harbhajan has been quite expensive in his overs so far. Economy of 8 in his 4 overs so far...

India's batting has always been world class. No one can deny Tendulkar, Laxman, Dravid and Sehwag are great batsman anywhere in the world. Heck I take all four of them over any player in our team.

Its their bowling which has always been short. India does not have one bowler in their history who would even be in the conversation for making the all time test team.

Is it too early in the match for spin? Anyways, in the absence of ZAK, Bhaji has to lead the bowling attack...

that kamran khan dude was quick in the ipl why is he not being brought back now his action is legal?

Well after a long partnership wickets tend to fall quickly so India shouldn't give up at all.

But at the moment things not looking good for them and Bhajji doing his best to keep his economy rate around 8.

Agreed. The big four batsmen are proven world class players, it is time for them to stop being blamed for everything.

It probably is the last over before lunch. Smith will be furious at himself for ruining a perfect start...

Last 2 years, our side has gone only once out of the subcontinent to new zealand, and they performed well there.Other than that, the two disastrous twenty twenty world cups, where almost the short ball single handedly took india out.

Indians are known for coming back though its a tough prospect here. Will just wait till the whole test series gets over,to start a some serious bashing of some player performances which i expected,as no excuses here absolutely in case they lose it.Except for maybe the lack of a practice game,i think all the players have got what they wanted. And what a new excuse yesterday by bhajji- "We lost the toss".

I said before the series that not playing even a day of a warm-up game was a disaster waiting to happen, and it may take them a heavy defeat to learn their lesson. The warm-up game should not be the first test which you lose and then you start playing better. the warm-up games should be meaningless and get your batsmen in decent nick.

So those batting avarages are based on playing 50% (plus these days) in India and then their away record the flat tracks of...

Pakistan
Sri Lanka
West Indies
Bangladesh
New Zealand
etc

Now For south Africa their averages are made up for 50% the difficult tracks of s.a and THEN only 50% the rest of the world. Only two south Africans average higher at home than away.

Logic tells you the averages of the indian 4 in all was even would be slighly lowered and the S.a 4 would be slightly lifted to make a fair comparisson. So are they great players ? It depends on your definition.

Is smith a great players ?

The only great player out of both teams if you ask me is Kallis. I'm not trolling. I think Tendulkar has had a great start of his career and a great recentrevival and he's played the game a long time. He's a very good player , but I don't think he's "great". Certainly not as great as he is made out. While Kallis rarely even gets a mention. Will continue any further debate on the new thread.
