Good session for Saffers, only wicket by Their premier fast bowler Bhajji

I said before the series that not playing even a day of a warm-up game was a disaster waiting to happen, and it may take them a heavy defeat to learn their lesson. The warm-up game should not be the first test which you lose and then you start playing better. the warm-up games should be meaningless and get your batsmen in decent nick.

Its such a shame Indian didn't get a warm up game. But then if last tour is anything to go by, it wouldn't have made a difference.
A slow low pitch for the warm up game and the 1st test was green and bouncy.

And I'm not sure about the meaningless of tour games. Yeh its a time for players to adjust to conditions and get a bit of practice. But I remember Cook talk the other week, saying how playing the warm-up games like proper 1st class games instead of having 14 players rotated through out the game really helped as players took it a lot more seriously

No,what happened was during nz tour these guys started playing well in tests, and people like sehwag started commenting - "There is no need for practice matches and net practice much".Since then there has always been this tendency to overlook these things by bcci.

But atleast you expect one of the best batting sides to last about 70 overs and make 250 however the conditions. They have got enough rests(sewag, sachin, laxman, dravid all dont play one days much),they went early to south africa, all the talk of practicing in gary kirsten's academy and then they disappoint.Ok,there is still time in the series, but atleast they could have put up a fight.

Where's the queue to kick Dhoni's ass? I'd like to be in on it. He deserves it for:

1 Playing Raina ahead of Pujara
2 Playing Unadkat ahead of Umesh Yadav
3 Losing the &%% toss!

I agree with u whereas the 3rd point is out of control but i want to kick his ass whatever the reason is....... :P

So those batting avarages are based on playing 50% (plus these days) in India and then their away record the flat tracks of...

Pakistan
Sri Lanka
West Indies
Bangladesh
New Zealand
etc

Now For south Africa their averages are made up for 50% the difficult tracks of s.a and THEN only 50% the rest of the world. Only two south Africans average higher at home than away.

Logic tells you the averages of the indian 4 in all was even would be slighly lowered and the S.a 4 would be slightly lifted to make a fair comparisson. So are they great players ? It depends on your definition.

Is smith a great players ?

The only great player out of both teams if you ask me is Kallis. I'm not trolling. I think Tendulkar has had a great start of his career and a great recentrevival and he's played the game a long time. He's a very good player , but I don't think he's "great". Certainly not as great as he is made out. While Kallis rarely even gets a mention. Will continue any further debate on the new thread.

No average only is based on the subcontinent tracks.I am not talking about who is greater. For me both are.Just the point that you said, the averages will be more if they play more here. That is not the case so far.I dint take other south africans like amla,de villiers because they havent played much at all in the whole subcontinent. For a fair comparison took players who have played enough-smith and kallis.

The test of how poorly a side batted can never be estimated with any great accuracy until both teams have had a dig. Let's see how the Jaapies bat on this wicket before we start LOLing at India's haplessness overseas.

Smiffy got out before lunch? Bummer.

Well on the evidence of one session it's clear that India bowled like girls' blouses. I'm guessing the Saffers will be wanting to bat once and put up a score of around 700+ in two days, which I think will be a matchwinning score.

I just don't understand when a team has a good start, for example 111/1 why people start talking about 500+, 700+?

It only takes one good spell from a bowler and you are suddenly 160/4 and eventually all out for 280.

There are no bowlers in indian team mate :D

Probably because in this case it will be 500 odd, unless Harbadulkar takes 10fer bowling from both ends in partnership with himself.

It's a good start but scores of 400+ are very rare in S.a.

I'll be happy if we get 100+ ahead.

Viro ney kamal kar deya viro peterson south africa ka lol lol lol lol

come on india no. 1 team in the world lol

bangladesh looking better than you. lolololol

Saffers scoring @ 4.1 ..very very slow ...har gaye Saffers ...:D

btw isse jyada wicket to Pakistan ne Abu Dhabi mein le liye the ...

Oh Amla bhai .....wapas aajao dressing room aapke liye biryani ready hai....come back have a good lunch with me ...:)

&

Namaste, Sastriyakal, As-Salam-wale-kum, Hi & Hello everybody....:)

:))) Flat track heroes! What's the excuse here fellas? Zaheer would've taken 10? Zaheer would've scored 200?

Pakistan's second string attack bowled better than Indian bowlers on flat tracks of UAE against the same opposition. Then some people thinks that Indian bowlers are better than ours.

:))) SA still have Kallis, De Villiers and Prince to come!

@IAJ bhai Johnson bowled brilliantly today ...mazaa aagaya ....

6 wickets, excellent bowling.:) He was just low on confidience and needed this performance. England must be worried for the second innings now.

yeah ...now England in pressure IMO in this match ...:) Aussies already having 200 runs lead now

SA overall batting so much more positively than what we saw in the UAE ... I guess they trust the pitch more when they're playing at home.
