Really excited about this match!

I reckon India will win against South Africa and will prove that they are the true & deserved No.1 side in the world!

But they need to Amla out first!! :amla

No way India can lose. They got momentum, batting wicket and Dhoni will probs finally win a toss. This match is India's to lose.

India will win, SA are Chockers, unless Steyn pulls something special out of the bag

I think India is gonna maul SA . The wicket will be flat , and with India's strong batting line-up , they are capable of putting up a huge total which I am sure the SA batsmen will be pressurized or choked by :p .

But SA will have a chance if Steyn or Amla take it up a notch >_< .

This should be a breeze for SA, they should win this with their eyes closed, NO CONTEST....

Well no excuses for either side, deciding Test between Test no 1 and Test no 2.

An Indian win erases any doubts about their being the top team in the world.

A South African win reestablishes them as the clear no 2 (and very close to number 1).

As much as I hate their cheerleader fans, I think India will win this one.

South Africa will bat first and declare with Amla on 402*. Innings defeat coming up for the pretenders.

Breeze? What Breeze? I didn't know any mention of this...SA bowlers done now. With this breeze you speak of, Zaheer will be swinging it both ways. 131 AO again.

Cloudy and overcast at Durban. Tricky toss to win as a lot of sunshine is predicted for the next 3 days and on day 4 and 5 it will become tough to bat on.

well lets take a look @ india advantage

1. provokers
2. batting wicket
3. momentum

so i think india going to win this with 2 inning and 300 runs with 10 wickets remainging

just wait & watch zaheer blowing sa off for <150 in both innings :D

I think it is à very good toss to win for india...
I see south africa being bowled today.

@ Cricinfo:

Smith: "It was a good toss to lose, I was undecided about what to do."

Yeah right! Why do captains bs like that??!

Kirtsen , the local boy said he has not seen a Cape wicket with so much of grass. He feels it will not be a typical Newlands wicket and that batting on day 1 will be tough. So all in all, a good toss to win.

But the real task starts from here. Our bowlers need to make a good start and use the conditions to their advantage. Hopefully it will remain overcast for sometime today :)

We should have batted here i think.Lets see.

I guess he had to choose between batting in the seaming conditions on day 1 and the spin-friendly conditions on day 4 or 5. It was a no-brainer that he chose to allow his below par attack to utilize the conditions now and bank on his batting line-up to do at least as well against spin on day 4 and 5 as they would have done against the pacers on day 1.

There was a light drizzle after the toss, and the covers were brought out but it has stopped now, so we should start in 15 minutes.

I thought so far newlands was a batting pitch compared to other two as said by curator and others. But it seems kirsten said it had grass as someone said above. So that could have been the reason for likely seaming conditions.

I'm beginning to have this sinking feeling that Sreesanth is a potent bowler only when he is allowed to behave like a chimpanzee.

If that is true, the only thing to do is let him behave badly and pay the fines.

Hate to spout the cliches, but just from watching Zaheer, he's one smart bowler. Every delivery seems to be part of a plan, he leaves nothing to chance.

zaheer is amongst the top 10 fast bowlers of all time

He's pretty much got everything any bowler could want except pace.
Yep he used to be quick but inconsistent early in his career. Now it's the opposite. Zaheer Khan--a landmark for all aspiring phaast bowlers. Excellent consistency

in the time u mentioned, zaheer khan has been the best fast bowler

4 5fers in the last three years... Averages a litle more than 30 overall.
Averages a litle more than 28 in win matches....
So if he is the best bowler in the world in that period then there is a big problem....

i hope zaheer repeats his 2010 performance this year too. 47 wickets at 22.08 , what a year for him.

Pietersen out!

Now comes the BIG FISH! Need to get Kallis before tea.

What on earth is south africa doing. Come on southafrica, 160 million pakistanis are behind you and praying for you to win. Donot let us down please.

Cricinfo!

Aravind, a disillusioned Dravid fan gets the best comment of the day award. "Dravid scores his 10,000th run, but wait, Sehwag scores a career high of 319. Dravid scores 11,000 test runs, goes past Border and scores a match saving 177 after 32-4, but wait, media is focused on Sachin's 20th year. Dravid scores his 12,000 tests runs and goes ahead of Lara, but wait, Sachin scores his 50th 100!!! Dravid takes his 200th catch, but wait, no accolades as people don't find it as good as playing a 50th test match! I wonder what they'll give The Wall for his 150th test match. A brick?"

India should have had a couple of more wickets by now, looking at the rain and the conditions in general but Amla and Kallis fighting well.

Cricinfo!

to add to that:

Raghu sends in this gem: "Continuing on Dravid - who can forget the epic innings Adeliade. Not one - but in both innings. And what happens - Saddam is caught!"

Stupid shot by Amla. SA in tatters here. Cant believe it.
Seems like India will win the series.
