Dravid should not open ever again.

Yes not permanently but given the state of the match and Sehwag's poor form, I would allow him to play like a dngerous middle-order hitter and get a quick 50-60 to win the game.

Viru would be the perfect choice..but i wonder if his crooked shoulder is alright?!

It's a pity Sehwag, with his shoulder injury, cannot bowl. Else he could have a handful on this track with his offies.

India need to go for the kill here! If they can get these two out quickly they should win the game from there!

great stuff from India here.

SA 81-4 and in some trouble. With talk of rough, surely Zaheer could use conditions to reverse it? India on course for bowling out SA for well below 270 target I set as an upper limit.

Boucher downwards they are in horrible form but Boucher has defied the odds over the years. India must go all out to remove Kallis and Prince especially!

But they will now be happy chasing anything under 200

For reasons best known to him, Dhoni has gone on the defensive. Poor field setting. Disappoitning captaincy. Set aggressive fields, throw the bait and be ready to concede a few 4s, there is enough in the wicket to produce a wicket taking ball every now and then.

Fantastic bowling by Zaheer this.. Round the stumps, in with the angle, pitches and straightens. Almost Akramesque (he's no Akram!)

ABD's struggle is testament to the tough conditions in the middle. ABD is one of the most free flowing batsmen going around.. presently 11(48). Remember he had a better than run-a-ball hundred in the first test.

South Africa just have no luck in this game.

All their edges have resulted in outs. inside edges onto the stumps.

India has edges fly all over plus how lucky was Bhaji with the bails not dislodging.

Very well played India, but had for RSA to beat a team with the quality of India with no luck.

last night on kent straight drive on Ten sports a discussion was going on regarding how well steyn bowlled in the India's first innings and swung the ball around while indian bowller were very far from what steyn showed.

Happens every time! Whenever there is even a short period of India performing well, there have to be posts blaming it on luck/umpire bias/BCCI clout etc. I dont understand why?

It will be too hard for India, SA should win this with their eyes closed..

Me thinks the same too. Cant think of our guys facing Steyn on this pitch on 5th day. SA might already have won the match here with this lead.

I reckon we should be able to chase down anything around 225, afterall VVS, Sach & Bhajji are almost in form of their lives...

No 1 teams in the world become No 1 by doing things like these.

This is heading towards a cliffhanger. Another 40-50 runs and SA will be in a very strong position.

Indeed. Looks like people have not seen how badly SA batsmen too have struggled in these conditions in which they've played all there cricket in.

Kallis alone has already played and missed at least a dozen times today.

Ganesh - did you even bother reading anything I have written.

I have always given credit to India for doing well. I just said what I saw.

Ready my earlier posts and you will see that I have had nothing but praise for the fight shown by this Indian team.

As for luck how many times will you see Styen hit the wickets and bails not flying, probably once or twice in his career. If that is not luck then I don't know what is.

whatever be the target, the fourth inning will be one helluva ride. Knowing india and SA, the match wont fall short of drama.

Indian fans are talking bakwas [the lot of you!]

This match has only one result - an Indian victory! Indian batting line up will gobble up 200 in their sleep - its SA who have to work hard now.

Don't know why there are two sets of standards for both the teams. If anything India should be applauded for hanging in there in conditions almost alien to them.

agreed. It's 115/5 and yet the pessimism as if it's 250/5...

asif,

This is what you wrote there.

MIG This is Isn't easy wicket anything above 200 would be tough target in the current condition.

well any thing over 200 will be near to impossible for India, I can see steyn bowlling better than the whole indian pace battery on this pitch

VVS run out in the first innings. COuld have been the difference between a 100+ lead or a 2 run lead which we finally got.

But overall yes, rub of the green has been primarily on our side since the 2nd test.

SA's big weakness in Test cricket (as opposed to ODI where they are just epic chokers) is that they are not as strong at home as they should be. They always give you a chance with their wickets.

Back when we were good (lol) they had the better of us a couple of times in Australia and then lost to us at home.

This has been a really interesting series, credit to both sides. Lead 114 and a big partnership could change things but I tipped India at the start of this game and I think they will win. Not because I like them though.

Kallis' wicket is the key here. Get him and it'll probably set the cat amongst pigeons.

SA have so many experienced players but they still don't know how to play on this wicket. Trying to block won't help on this pitch, you need to be offensive and attack.

Had AB played a bit aggressively he could easily have scored a fifty instead of this pakistani like tukk tukk.

A bowler like Bhajji loves it when batsmen are reluctant to score and all of the sudden he is all over you.

Really poor tactics from Saffers.

Butt well done to India so far for bowling tightly and keeping the preassure on.
