Mcullum gone! stumped! spinners killing the kiwis here.

Say goodbye ... McCullum ... 4 down ... 6 to go .. anyone still want to take me up on that bet?

Good over.

McCullum gone.

Stumped. Van Der Merve the bowler.

36 runs needed off 18 balls.

36 needed off 18 balls now.

Styris new man in...

8 off 5 balls so far... kiwis need a boundary!

27 needed off 12 balls.

Kiwis pretty much need to cane this over!

Good yorker by Steyn.

Oram picks up 2 runs from the first ball

Nah today is my first real look at him. Did look a bit clueless with the bat today though. Must be out of form.
This is his first season. He had a good bat on debut against Aus (I think it was 48*) where he was smacking out the park.

What happened there.

4 runs. Over the keeper. Hit the foot marks.

NZ lucky. Byes.

Full length outside off.

Steyn misses it. Trying to be too cute.

18 needed off 8 balls!

kiwis need a 4 off last 2 balls here atleast!

15 runs needed off 6 balls.

Last over.

Wayne Parnell to bowl.

15 needed off the last over.

Saffers favourites here...

First ball is a single to fine leg.

Could easily have been a 4 but it isn't.

Oram misses out on a full toss.

Another 2 to Oram.

10 off 3 balls.

Oram gets a streaky 4.

Fine leg inside the circle.

4 to win off the last ball

Parnell just needs to watch the noballs and wides. Otherwise the game is SAs

4 past fine leg!

4 needed off last ball now....

They only get 2 from the final ball.

South Africa won by 1 run.

5 down ... none to go. LOL ... game, set, match. :) Guys ... remember ... have faith in your team ... even when they score 128.

Well played South Africa.

They defended 128 which was a modest total.

always , only that it wasnt my team today :D

Kiwis only lost 4 wickets to not chase 128 is a joke!

Well done S.A who bowled and fielded brilliantly!

S.A showing why the are favourites for this tourney!

Hats off to SA.. Defending a target of 129 requires some good bowling and fielding.. And SA made sure they didnt dissapoint.

For what purpose NZ keeping their wickets. Should have gone all out from over 16.

Van der merwe bowled brilliant though.

It's a crime to lose a match like this with so many wickets in hand

I think Shoaib Malik and Salman Butt had a pep talk with the Kiwis

Lucky if you get 130.

SA are showing why they are the most overrated team in the tournament. Maybe this batting performance will teach them not to be complacent.

NZ showing why they should not be underestimated.

We will find it tough against SL and NZ in our group.

Backing NZ to give SA and all those who said they are favourites to win a reality check here.
Care to comment?

SA would have won by 4 more runs had Steyns yorker not hit a foothole and bounced over Boucher's head.

Oh and at least we can beat NZ, something which India can't do. And at least we can defend 128, 30 less than Pakistan did against India :p

Now I don't usually gloat, and always thank the opposition for providing some good competition, but if you're going to make comments about being overrated then at least be able to back it up, and then look at your own teams performance first. I don't recall any SA fans overrating the team, nor do the team overrate themselves, so I'm not sure where you even get the idea from. All I ever seem to read about is how great India is. :)

SA have made another statement with this victory. They needed a tough game after having an easy run into the super 8's, starting with 2 "easy" warm up games. They were given a fight and came out winners. The batters failed today and still SA managed to come through with a victory. The bowling was superb backed by brilliant fielding. I saw Smith "having a go" at the team whilst waiting to come on to field. He laid down the law basically saying" we do not lose this game. We come out and outfield NZ. They did that masterfully.

Their pre tournament "favourite" tag has again been justified. All their departments looks solid and they have the players that can adapt to any conditions and any scenario that they find themselves in. They are a bunch of fighters with the "never say die" and "never give up" attitude. The players beleive in each other and are willing to sacrifice for each other.

With regards to the Indian posters that were "gloating" about the performance of the saffers (batting) have gone remarkably quiet. Some humble pie being eaten in solitude mates!!!!! Howzabout you come forward and say well played chaps? We acknowledge that your side is good and that you are determined bunch!!! The saffers here would!!!

Jacob Oram is one over rated batsman. Its been ages since i have seen him play any devastating innings. His hitting technique is really poor. If it was Albie Morkel batting, he would have whacked Parnel or Steyn for sixes.
