Dhoni has to quit as test captain,he can go on in odi's but in tests his captaincy is lethargic and reactive instead of pro-active,very very disappointing!
 
This is an interesting passage of play. The ask is still reachable, so maybe SA will go for the win and lose a wicket or two?? This has been an amazing test match though...Take a bow both the teams :)

I m talking about his one day captaincy not test captaincy....we need aggressive captain like ganguly. kohli could be a better captain for tests
 
2 big overs from Ishant will be needed and SA might win it. Donations from other bowlers will be accepted too.
 
There's no way India is taking 6 wickets in a session unless someone takes a hat-trick or something.
 
If Indian batsmen think they are clever enough to negate Steyn in his own den, wouldn't the SA batsmen try to negate inferior bowlers in their own den? India is not winning a lot of overseas matches till they have a really top class fast bowler. Zaheer is ok, but he does not have the pace to rip through sides at every opportunity.

Yesterday he was getting more spin than today. There is nothing in here for a spinner. Flight is getting safely defended.

Ashwin is no Ajmal but he is doing his best (by bowling economically) and if India have to save this match, he has to block one end up for a full session.

Interesting session coming up.
 
Guys can u lend us irfan,junaid and ajmal for these two hours?:D
We promise to lend u pujara and kohli in the future :D
 
Win or Lose ...good firght back by our batsman.... Too bad, our bowlers keep disappointing us over & over again :'(

Actually I think he is right. Ashwin has bowled economically but he is not going to take wickets outside the subcontinent. Just does not have the revs of a Graeme Swann nor the mystery of an Ajmal.

forget about this test..when did he ever performed well in overseas tours.

Lol kumble would have run through these guys,even jadeja would have been better!
Is it too much too expect even 1 wicket from ur front-line spinner?

Irfan is injured, Junaid and Ajmal are currently playing in a match against Lanka. Tanvir was dropped for Gul today so let us know if you want Tanvir he is free! ;)

Tanvir got all the tools!

Wrong. During his first five years Kumble averaged 40+ away - only with lots of experience over many tours did he perform decently on away tours.

He can bat better than most spinners & can contribute well with bat even if india loses 6 wickets for not much..

With these sort of calculations , dhoni and co took him ... Too bad his batting wast reqd & his bowling is only worth saving runs & not picking wickets i feel..

jadeja can bat well too.. he is in team as a bowler. he was picked as a replacement to bhajji but even bhajji would have taken couple of wickets here.
 
India just needs one wicket, the rest are tail. India on top here, they will win this match, need to be patient guys. Just one wicket away from victory. This will probably go down as one of the best Test matches.
 
This has been a very even contest so far and SA showing why they are the number one team, any other opponent would have lost by now but Saffas going strong.
 
India need just 1 wicket - after that SA will just try to survive.

Draw still the favourtie.
 
No matter what the result. India has done extremely well in this match. They have come back strongly from the ODI debacle not only with the bat but bowling as well. And I appreciate their fight back.
 
If dhoni doesn't give the ball to shami,then I don't lnow what to say...
I'll be lost for words.

Lol at Ashwin abuse here. Three so called pacers can't buy wickets on wickets meant for them on the fifth day with sufficient scoreboard pressure and you guys ridicule a spinner who can at least hold the bat.

Not ridiculing him but we generally expect more from our spinners than pacers.

A spin bowler representing India should be taking wickets on a 5th day pitch.

Jadeja failed in Test batting many times recently & He is vulnerable to bouncer ..But ashwin on the other hand has a good overseas record.. I think he even got 50 in England or Aus..

I think Indian team is content that they are able to play well and compete.

Looks like a draw for the Indian team is like a win.
 
When u have only 30 overs left,u want to give everything to the quicks,who will do the damage.

Anyways, given his inexperience, I did not expect him to be a threat on these wickets, this wicket is a graveyard for spinners. It is all upto our pacers to bowl us to win. If our three front line pace bowlers can pick up 2 wickets between them ( one was a fluke and one was a run out) in 90 overs, then only God can save this team. (and not Ashwin)

Shami should be persisted with and Mohit should get a look-in.
 
Dhoni is looking for a draw,there's no doubt in my mind.
I hope we lose coz of this defensive approach.
The only thing is i will feel bad for kohli and pujara who were so brilliant in the match!
