Good innings by Nazir hopefully he can continue in the next couple of ODI's as well...hopefully Pakistan make most out of this start.

moyo walks in, need to get a good rate goin like it is through the powerplay then these 2 can milk the strike

I suppose Nazir showing up in this team has nothing to do with Inzi or BW?
Get ready to hear this from everyone... 'i always said that Nazir should be in the team, the guy has talent but not given much opportunities' :))

excellent stuff from Nazir. Well played bhai jaan!

Given us a good platform. 300+ and it is game, set and match.

so will be RIDICULED for his bad shot .. or praised for his 57 ?

His critics will ofcourse forget that he has just blasted Pakistan to 80 in no time, and focus on the shot he got out to

pak missed a trick. Still plenty of powerplay overs left so they should have sent one of the big hiters/

I think they made a good choice. They don't want to lose another wicket as that would take the momentum away. If the score reaches 125+ after 20 thats a good score.

Nah. We have a great platform. Now we need Yousuf and Inzi to continue. The big hitters can come in at the end.

Also funny how in the 1st ODI whern we send in big hitters everyone whinges that Inzi and Yousuf are batting too low and when we send in the established seniors higher up someone starts whinging that we should sent in a big hitter.

These two had better not run each other out.

I want to see some classy batting today.

opposite is always the right decision

We have three big hitters to come in the end i.e. Malik, Razzaq and Afridi.

I hope Nazir's wonderful knowck inspires some much needed confidence in these three.

PK doesnt care about powerplays when batting ... their big hitters hit the ball outside the ground .. not just over the infield..

Barry Richards says PK has to convert scores of 50 to 100 to win the WC ...

what a load of crock ... PK batting is focused on their middle order .. everyone else just needs to their part .. which Nazir did .. he smashed the ball around.. the ball is now soft .. and the middle order can MILK singles/doubles... and BUILD a good platform ..

there is also Azhar Mahmood and Rana (#10)

Another boundary! these two bring in the boundaries so regularly, and it looks so smooth..like getting boundaries in the quiet. CLASS.

Insha-Allah a big total looks on the cards.........but Pak's bowling resources look worrying......but then again can Azhar be that much worse than Sami?

yup just noticed, all there more bolster for our line up! :19:

actually i quite like today's line up, great depth in batting..and if razzaq and mahmood can show good form with the ball, we have a strong combination

another thing working in our favour is that this is D/N match and most D/N games in SA favor the side batting 1st!

They were saying that in day/night matches at this ground the side batting first has won 15 out of 20, if I heard correctly.

4 big hitters at the end aren't required at the end. A ten over cameo from one of them up front would have beneficial. Yousuf and Younis aren't the best 2 players to utilise the power plays.

Salam guys, great going so far from Nazir and now from these two currently. Inshallah they can go on further.

Its all a risk..either decision can go in our favour, depends on the players themselves and the day.

Beautifully picked up and flicked through mid wicket in the air for 4 from Younis

these 2 should stick around till the 40th over

then we can send razzaq and afridi in

And Razzaq is at his best when Pakistan are batting first, there are few overs to go and quick runs are needed.

yes...that's exactly what i mean and that's the reason why i don't like D/N cricket ...

any ways these 2 must bat for the next 10-15 overs even if they go at 4 to 4.5 runs/over!

I would say 35 overs..then Inzi can come in and the fireworks can start early.

Ala Karachi 2005 against England where we racked up 353 in the end.

in recent times when ever i have seen A Razzaq bat bowlers have always tried to bounce him out and i must say that they have been quite succesful.

Overpitched and driven nicely through mid off for 4 by Younis, easily done there.

Overpitched again same shot but this time 3 runs are taken.

We deserved a break and if D/N is a lottery - well about time we won it !

Razzaq's weakness is short balls since he tends to clear his left leg and opening up offside and legside, but then being open to being attack by short balls which are not that easy to play if you bat like this.

Pakistan: 112/2 (17.3 Ovs)
Y Khan*41(41)
M Yousuf11(22)

South Africa
A Nel5-0-32-0
C Langeveldt*4.3-0-28-1

Run Rate : 6.46 Current Partnership: 32(36)

10 from the over-115-2 from 18 Great stuff by these two- no risk game and so solid and productive MashaAllah

btw, thanks for dropping by Raz Mian :)

No worries, just got back from university about half an hour ago. Delightful batting so far.:D

Younis has played a gem of an innings here - without looking dangerous and playing silly shots he has now 41 from 41 and hope can carry on.

from cricinfo

"Blake, residing in South Africa, makes a point about the pitch. "Anything over 300 will extremely difficult to match at Kingsmead. It's a pitch that becomes more and more animated as the evening goes on."

younis really needs to go on and get a hundred. hopefully the rest of the team will bat around him.
