Wahab Riaz speaking after PZ beat KK in the knockout:

"More than the fans in LAhore, the person I will really miss at the final will be my father, I would like to dedicate the final to my late father"

"Allah has given me the honour to go back to my town Lahore and play the final there, it will be my desire to win the final for my father"

"My father couldnt see me give this gift to him while he was alive but If we do win, he will be a very happy man"

He has been brilliant for Peshawar once again. Wish he could bowl like this for Pakistan as well.

Player of the tournament for me. Hasn't bowled a single bad spell.

Mamoon he generally does well in T20s. Was very good even in one off t20 in England

He is inconsistent for Pakistan in every format, but he has been superb in the PSL.

So happy for him.

Been backing him. He is a lion.

Well done Wahab, you have surely made your father proud.

He's shortened his run-up this edition of the PSL and has been less erratic. Perhaps turning over a new leaf in his career?

Ah that explains the emotional scenes at the end.

Credit to him, top performance today.

I knew right away this was the reason he cried in the end. Honestly he bowled great today. He is easily the best bowler of Pakistan. Gave it his all on the field. Showed he is a superstar. Go Wahab win the trophy. You deserve it.

Just goes to show what the final being in Pakistan means to everyone

Wow what an emotional interview. I had a few tears welling up watching that & I am lucky enough to still have my father with me.

Good luck for the final Wahab.

The reason why we see Wahab on TV is because of his Father. He came from a financially strong family, and always had the backing of his family when it came to cricket. His father most probably supported his passion alot.

It sucks that while he gets to feature in a final, his biggest supporter won't be there. This interview reminded me of that Shoaib Malik interview, similar story. His father always took him to club on his cycle

What we can't give physically we can give spiritually. If he plays the final with the right spirit his father will be there to take notice.

Good luck for the final Habii..

Gilliyaan nu ora daal

He is pick of the bowler in this edition. He will bowl with full energy in final would love to see mediocre shehzad facing beast in the final

With due respect, we know what he is like when it comes to international matches. I'm just sick of watching the same guys being given chances but not take them. It's like you bowl one good spell and you're in for the playing 11 for next 3 series. Wanna see new bowlers.

Is he?

I could have sworn that I did a thread proving that he matched Mitchell Starc blow-for-blow on the tour of Australia!

Those were really, really emotional scenes, seeing him in tears after the game. Yesterday was another top spell by him, taking three key wickets. He´s been really good for Peshawar this tournament, delivering each game.

I didn´t even know that his father has passed away, until told by my father yesterday. Wahab was here in Dreieich last year and I was quite keen to meet him, but things couldn´t quite materialise.

I can also swear that I can prove that Shafiq out-performed Kallis in South Africa in 2013, or Amir out-performed Anderson in England in 2010. One or two series means nothing, when you have years of mediocrity in your locker. Both Wahab and Starc are left-arm pacers, and that is where the comparison ends. He is not fit to be mentioned in the same sentence as the latter.
