Thanks, his LO record is very good .

Who is the best Leg-spin prospect in AUS? Lyon & O'keif looks like will stay for few years. Does Fawad qualify for India tour?

Fawad qualified for Australia a while back. Don't think he's good enough but he's the best behind Lyon and O'Keefe.

Best leg spin prospect would be either Swepson or Muirhead

MM is useless in Test, may be only in UK, he can be 4th seemer, but AUS should play 6 batsmen in Test + Lyon & 3 pacers, with Smith bowling leggi. In India, 3rd pacer can make way for O'Keefe.

The funniest thing is that evidence is starting to suggest that the Marsh boys are some of our better options for Asia.

Papa's influence?

Yeah. They had a lot of training as kids and Justin Langer used to do the throw downs for them etc.

It's why they're both (especially Shaun) technically pleasing to the eye.

When do Australia tour India? They should be there one month before the first official practice game, hire local coaches to work with them and organize any practice matches possible. Even tier 2 club teams will do.

Apparently these pre tour preparations aren't of much use here.

Anjelo is a genius - he has 3 specialist spinners, therefore trying to confuse Aussies with a part-timer.

At SSC, if AUS bats first, can compete but unless it rains, I think 3-0 is certain. Never seen any major Test side such clueless against spin. Almost every ball is like getting a wicket.

Shaun Marsh has to come in. Did well in Lanka last time and played well in Windies where it spins. Khawaja is useless. Burns is useless. Ditch either of the two or else it will get ugly in India. It will get ugly regardless but you can always mitigate the horror show.

Starc is on Golden pair.

Yep Shaun in for Khawaja or for Burns.

And either Bancroft or Handscomb in as well.

Fitting ending yo.

Worse performance than the whitewash in India.

Congrats Sri Lanka. What a performance.

Congrats to the Lankan fans here in PP.

Definitely didn't see that one coming. A proper mauling.

Yes, obviously. After all, all it took South Africa was some couple of boot camps to reach number 1. Slog

South Africa became no.1 because they had ATG/near ATG players in Steyn, Kallis, Smith, Amla, AB, etc., and they play better overseas than even at home.

Current Asian teams fail on both accounts.

Australia is really a one dimensional team, they only know how to play one way i.e. attack, attack and attack. Cant grind it out and play attritional patient cricket in conditions which demand it. We have seen this way to many times in England and now in the Sub continent.

Yes and thus my point that quality of the team is the main factor. Not some boot camps. :)

When quality of teams aren't great, you need camps and warm up matches for them to acclimatize.

Great teams will win regardless.

Disagree. Teams for instance like Bangladesh cannot win test matches on the basis of boot camps alone. They need quality in their team to do so therefore clearly showing that it is the main factor. You can disagree to this all day. I have made my point.

Poor comparison. Bangladesh hardly win at home, winning tests overseas is out of the conversation.

I never denied quality of the team is important. It is you who is denying that preparations are useless. Anyway let's agree to disagree here.

Never said preparations are useless. Always have maintained that they are a minor contributing factor since the very start.

Haven't seen a single ball of the 2 Tests thus far, but it all comes down to Australia not being able to bat vs spin, until they learn how to bat on Asian wickets against decent spinners, they won't learn how to bat on SC wickets.

Pakistani and Indians fans are more happy than SL fan now lol because more Australian defeats against lower ranked teams mean a better chance for Pak/Ind to take number 1 ranking soon and stay there for a couple of months!

Cheers boss all my hard work finally paid off :27:

Given SL's poor record vs Oz historic win no doubt but what's more important is where they go from here. Been playing minnowesque cricket last year and a half. Hope it finally sparks the whole lot into action. All this lame transitioning period stuff doesn't cut it. The pathetic fitness levels, rubbish fielding and lack of discipline absolutely no excuses for those. Anyways onwards and upwards!
