Kallis himself had a pretty poor start to international cricket. As did Amla and AB. His temperament and technique is what the coaches are there for, and he's not going to get the same level of exposure and coaching at domestic level. Our domestic leagues are pretty competitive and it's generally a good indicator of who can make it at international level. 7 (or 8) games are far too few to judge somebody on their average, 4 games are even worse.

I wasn't judging him based on his average, I was judging him on his lack of innings' above 20 runs. However I do see your point, I personally don't think he will cut it at the International level but we'll have to wait and find out.

All-rounders are always very important in T20 cricket and could be very vital in this tournament, Kallis firing with both the bat & ball could make the Saffers a very difficult team to beat. As for Zimbabwe, they should be forced to fight it out with the other minor nations for qualification to these tournaments.
