If its reviewed, the 3rd umpire takes all possible outs into consideration.

Smith almost out. Survives a top edge pull - falls safe.

This test match is a joke man. Why does ICC allow such mediocre umpires to officiate in such a high profile test. Imagine how much the result of this test could have been distorted towards either side favor if there was no review system

The other umpire has done a pretty good job. But yeah.

i have a feeling australia will win this test match and will win the ashes series 2-1 in the end. i can be wrong though.

Smith is not a test number 6. He should be a 7, then Johnson (hit and miss), then Harris (nothing special) then the two rabbits.

Compare and Contrast RE England:
Swann at 8, Tremlett at 9, Anderson the blocker at 10 and one rabbit at 11.

Smith is too fidgety... almost gets run out.... must have had double expresso before coming out to bat

A very uneasy and strange stance from Smith. The balance looks awful but gets one in the middle for 3.

I don't understand why Doctrove is the on-field umpire and Aleem Dar is the 3rd umpire.

We'll see.

Hussey has played the pull very well all series, not just this game.

Strauss is a bit too reluctant to bring on Swann imo. Fair enough, the pacers have had all the fun on this wicket but he has been a matchwinner in the past and keeping him off is just playing in to Australia's hands.

Tremlett has been too short this spell. Bring on Swann instead, keep Finn going (he's due his random wicket ball soon).

Good batting by Smith. Strauss missing a trick by going with one dimensional pace - esecially as the wicket has lost movement.

oh man. ICC must seriously look into this. It's all good having a review system but surely you cannot have umpires as pathetic as these

What's wrong with these umpires?

On most grounds it's going over if it hits that high, this is the WACA!

Brilliant session for Aus. Lead nearly 300 now.

Strauss should have bought Swann on.

Good job they have reviews. England would have hit the winning runs by now.

Lunch time, good session - belongs to Australia. They are in a good position here but the wicket is flat and the depth of their bowling will really be tested.

Its time for Billy Doctrove to retire from International umpiring

This should do it.Aussies should win here. That sets up a cracker of the series to come.

Lead is no where Enough at this point..

A minimum of 450 is definitely needed .....SouthAfrica Chased Down 450 2 years before in the same ground.

prices at start of play

3/10 Aussies

4/1 England

23/1 Draw

in another fred i highlighted that the Draw at 23/1 was way overpriced. Naturally I lumped on accordingly

current prices at lunch are as follows:

1/3 Aussies

13/2 England

9/1 Draw

i expect the Draw to be trading at 4/1 or less when England next bat at which point I will trade out my 23/1 position :asif

Ya not about the score, just about the position they are in.They could get atleast 75 runs extra with the present situation,if they bat decently. If they get to 400 i think they will win.Think it would be difficult to repeat the above 400 chase for another team. But lets see.
