Oh wait just tell her that u were adding ur phone number to ur cousin's phone as he had the wrong number so u had to go to 'contacts' and u then fell upon her number.
 
You don't go to contacts to add a number. You dial it on the number pad and press the add to contacts button. You don't have to go through the other contacts.

U wanted to re check after saving it so went to contacts.

I was thinking the same - that is exactly what she'd ask you.. "How'd you get my number?"

So what options do we have here?

A) you can tell her the truth (and risk spilling all the beans)
B) you can tell her the half-truth (lost my contacts, asked a cousin to forward everyone else's numbers to me.. she sent me yours too) - this one's lame, I know.
C) Or you can just be coy about it...... "I have my sources ;)"

Lets see what everyone else has to say about this.
 
Now that everything is looking bleak, you can simply text her and if she asks about how you got the number, say this (here's my past post):

"Oh yeah, actually I was talking to [common cousin name] that day and the topic veered towards the family dinner we all had. I told her that that dinner was fun and it was nice to hang out with my cousins and maybe I should plan something where we cousins just get to meet and go out somewhere. She asked me - "ok fine but do you have the number of all the cousins" for which I said no and so she gave me the numbers I didn't have including yours."

Just say the event never materialized. Maybe sometime in the future.

So go ahead and text her. Its a chance you have to take considering every other avenue is gone.

Now you have a ready made chance to enquire about her (her not coming to this event). Play the curiosity angle and most likely she will be fine with it.

Actually B is the best. Tell her that u lost all ur contacts and u told ur cousin to forward all the family contacts and hence got her's as well.

Personally, I would raise my eyebrow at it, but would tell my mother about it.

Yet, this will make me think about the guy in question for a very, very long while.

It can come down to personality as well. I detest cheap thrills, and have thankfully never been wooed like that.. But this is different, firstly its in the family (so there's lesser pressure as compared to pursuing a totally random girl). And secondly, I feel PB's more "out there" (given Mamoon's take on her tweets and all). She might just enjoy the chase.

Either way, I don't think she can just shoulder past that easily. A coy reply like that is likely to linger on in her mind for a while. And perhaps, that could be the breakthrough required in Mamoon's case..

Might just work, but it would have to be worded really well..

Or Mamoon could just combine B and C. Say C first, then judge her - if she gets too defensive, say B.

Perhaps, this could be a contingency plan if C and B fail, respectively - it would just prove that PB feels nothing for our boy here, and he'll be better off pursuing something else.

Might make that good, final impression as a method of last resort, but nothing more.

Personally speaking, I would first go with "C".

If things are not going well, I would tell her the slightly lie version of A (as mentioned in my post above).

Definitely, this is the right move if she insists about the source.

He could tell her that as she did not like his move , he would completely retreat rather than becoming a cause of discomfort to her.

Its important to have a plan.

In a panic you might mess up it. Especially if there is an uncomfortable delay in replying when she asks THAT question. So think it over now.

Do iPhones in Pakistan show if the recipient has read the message? With a "Read" or tick etc? I'm not sure if that is to do with the network or not.

Yes if your iMessage is on. She has an iPhone but her iMessage isn't working I guess.

Otherwise could have texted her all night for free. Now have 4 texts only and no friends come to aid when you need them.

Nah, I think he implies that generally she was "missing," and he felt her absence as opposed to Mamoon directly "missing" PB.

Adding we should make it a little better. Shows that as a mezbaan/host, he missed her.
