That interview was a load of old junk - written by some PR dude to make the fat g1tt look better BUT the sensible wont be fooled by it

The local police released a statement saying they did not give him ANY security advice which they certainly would have if there was a threat to his or his families safety

Abusing him is perfectly all right since he has lied to the fans and is messing our club up

"folks it's just a game" - i am not shocked in the slightest that comment has come from a Man-U 'fan' from Canada

I think this year we are going to get relegated UNLESS we are bought out and KK brought back ASAP

Hey Geordie, any insight into the supposed Nigerian interest in the club?

Supposedly a group of wealthy Nigerians (Oil Barons and Businessmen) have gotten together to form a consortium and they are close to getting the money together to making a £400 Million bid - Ashley's asking price was £480 Million BUT thats just ridiculous, even £400 Million is way too much

Nobody has really taken this seriously BUT their front man Chris Nathanial said the following

Frontman Chris Nathaniel told BBC Sport: "It's a serious offer, they're very serious business people and passionate football fans.

"We're still at the early stages, but hopefully in the next 48 hours we'll be in a position to make a statement and take the situation further."

Oh and they say they will get KK back as gaffer

I was very wary of this when i first heard about it, the likes of Ahmed Lamptey came to mind BUT if it means Ashley leaving then its worth it cos i think Ashley is doing real damage to our club, damage that may well not be repairable if he is in charge for much longer

Thanks for that mate, fascinating stuff. I think this issue will be sorted out sooner rather than later and I expect the club to have new owners and a manager in place within a week. Let's just hope they have the clubs best interest at heart.

1) That doesnt surprise me - people in management are all pals, its a joke

2) Very true - i just hope the club is sold asap cos loads of damage is being done

3) I would normally agree BUT the club is in a huge mess and he is the only guy than can turn it around quickly so its important he does come back if a takeover happens quickly

remained unclaimed for over a period of time 2 years and 6
months, with the account unservicable, the money will be
confisicated, and this will happen if nobody comes for the
money since we have not seen any body for the money and his

notifying the Rotary club for the past one year.

In order to avert this negative development, I now seek your

BBC Sport understands that Ashley has dropped his asking price from £480 Million to a more sensible £280 - 300 Million

This should hopefully attract any investors that may have run away after hering the first price

True BUT thats to be expected - Sir John Hall and Fat Fred walked away with a big profit and they are or became fans of our club

To be fair to Ashley he did clear the debt of the club and it is financially in a sound position right now - I think whoever does buy our club for that amount are getting themselves a good deal

A South African consortium is rumoured to be in the lead to buy our club - also rumours that Keegan will be enticed back with an offer of a stake in the club

A South African consortium has tabled a bid in the region of £300m to buy Newcastle, BBC Sport understands.

The five-strong South African group are thought to be keen to bring back crowd favourite Kevin Keegan as manager.

Keegan may be offered a 5% stake in the club in a bid to persuade him to return for a third spell at the helm.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/7649200.stm

What a deal that would be for Newcastle! Though i dont think Keegan can be enticed back now

I reckon one of the reason why they are offering a share so he doesn't leave the job as easy as he done like all his jobs before.

I feel sorry for the New Castle fans. Now the manager is going bersk against the journo. Readers discretion needed. Here

I have to say i am a Joe Kinnear fan now - I still want KK back and a takeover to happen BUT i do like Kinnear

His rant at the press was much needed, its about time someone told them the truth, that they are slimey c****

They just print rubbish after rubbish, nobody in town gave a crap that the players were given a day off so for the papers to suggest people in the town were shocked is utter garbage

Anyhow a great point away to Everton for us, altho we certainly had the chance to make it 3 points. More importantly the players showed plenty of effort and aslong as they play like that in the coming weeks we should be okay - and slowly we are getting some players back which will give much needed balance to our side

Poor result - gutted we lost to the mackems BUT we have a chance to rectify it quickly;

We take on West Brom at home on tuesday - simply put its a MUST win game. We are struggling at the moment and we need to atleast pick up points at home, especially against sides that are just above us in the league

From what i heard some mackems entered the pitch after the match finished and went towards our fans - also some guys at the match said some mackem jumped amongst 20 or so toon fans, obviously he got a good hiding

Also some bother in town im hearing, nothing major - just the odd mackem mouthing off and then making friends with fists

It always happens

After beating West Brom we jumped a few places and out of the relegation zone BUT other results have went against us and we are back in it, we are 2nd bottom BUT can go bottom if Bolton get a point against Citeh tomorrow

We play highflying Villa on Monday and im scared of what will happen - In the 2nd half against West Brom we made them look like Brazil and Villa have so much pace in their forward lineup we are not gonna be able to cope with them

I would gladly settle for a point right now, i just hope its not too bad a hammering

^^^they got nervous in second half of last match
newcastle are good in attack when playing with confidence but against villa a point atm would be good for you

Kinnear: Fans don't know Keegan truth

from setantasports.com

Newcastle interim manager Joe Kinnear has suggested that the club’s fans may turn against Kevin Keegan when statements about the former England boss’s departure emerge.

Keegan has long been a hero at St James’ Park, and his decision to leave the club in September led the fans to protest against Mike Ashley’s ownership of the club.

Ashley opted to put the club up for sale shortly afterwards, saying he no longer felt it was safe to watch the team play with his family as well as insisting he had invested money sensibly to protect the club’s long-term health.

And Kinnear believes supporters may come around to Ashley’s point of view when the truth is revealed.

“I could tell you lots of things about (Keegan’s departure),” he told The News of the World.

“You will have to wait and see. You might be pleasantly surprised.

“You are making an assumption, like most of the journalists up here, and 75 percent of you are wrong.

“Wait until you see the statements. That is all I am saying. All will be revealed.

“Maybe Mike Ashley will be accepted. Maybe he will come back and won’t sell the place. Maybe he’ll invest in the club.

“Who knows? It only needs the team to go on a small run and people will easily forget.

“I am saying ‘forget’, but I don’t know what the man has done.

“It is difficult. He’s put £240 million into the club and he can’t come and watch the team, but he could make peace with the fans.

“It isn’t all of them. He hasn’t been given a fair crack of the whip by the press.

“He is a down-to-earth fella who loves his football. His kids love it.

“I don’t know what mistakes he has made because I haven’t been here to look at them.”

Despite showing support for Ashley, however, Kinnear admits he agrees fully with Keegan that Michael Owen must not be allowed to leave the club.

The former Liverpool striker is free to discuss moves to other clubs in January, and Kinnear believes his wage demands must be met to keep him at the club.

“The club has to keep Michael Owen and players like him,” he said.

“This is a big club and Michael is a big player.

“I would keep him here. I feel the same way about him as Kevin Keegan.”

Oh Joe - just when the fans were starting to like you, you come out with junk like this.

Why on earth is he doing Fat Ashley's dirty work by making these BS comments - the statements will be no different to the BS they have released in the past

Good win for you guys. The belief is slowly coming back. Talent is there, but the team is starting to gel now. Need to bring it every game though. No switching on and off.

It's amazing you know, one win and you're out of the zone, closer to mid-table, and just 3 points off 7th place. All to play for, as one would say.

Great to see Newcastle winning last night and a thoroughly deserved victory it was too.

More importantly though towards the latter stages of the game you could see the confidence oozing back to players like Martins, Duff and co.

Very true - we jumped 6 places with our win, just goes to show how tight the table is.

I and many other fans had chalked this game down as a loss so its brilliant we won BUT we cant waste it by failing to pick up points against Fulham, Stoke etc etc

Its Fulham away on Sunday - away game in London isnt one of our strong points (unless we are playing the Spuds) so i would settle for a point now.

FA decides not to punish Barton

from bbc.co.uk/sport

The Football Association says Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton will not face any action over an incident involving Aston Villa's Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Barton, 26, appeared to poke Agbonlahor's face during Newcastle's 2-0 win at St James' Park on Monday.

Referee Steve Bennett had words with Barton after the clash but the FA said he had not seen the incident.

However, after viewing video footage, the official decided it was not worthy of a red card.

The clash came after Barton, who is playing again after a ban and prison sentence, had been penalised for a foul.

"I thought it was a foul against me, and I had a hold of the ball," Barton told the Newcastle Chronicle.

The midfielder, who was later booked for a challenge on Aston Villa defender Luke Young, added: "We shook hands after the game and that's the way it is.

"It was all about nothing. Nothing has gone on, people are making a mountain out of a molehill."

And Newcastle have claimed that Barton is being unfairly treated.

Coach Chris Hughton said: "Any incident regarding Joey is going to be blown up twice as much as it's going to be with any other player.

"I wasn't aware of any incident with Joey at all."

Barton was released from jail in July after serving two months of a six-month sentence for assault and affray in Liverpool.

The Newcastle player was later banned for six games by the FA after he assaulted former Manchester City team-mate Ousmane Dabo at the training ground.

Barton had previously admitted the charge of violent conduct and was fined £25,000 at a personal hearing, but will be suspended for another six games if he steps out of line again in the future.

Villa boss Martin O'Neill also played down the incident, although Agbonlahor had mentioned it.

He said: "That's for other people to make the decision. The referee and linesman, whatever they saw - or didn't see, as the case may be, that's up to them."

Good - last thing we need right now is a suspension and Barton has been playing well lately

Is there any chance of Kinnear really getting the job permanently GA?

Anything is possible where Newcastle United is concerned

He is doing a good job so may deserve a chance BUT he nor anyone else will get the job on a permanent basis UNTIL the ownership issue is resolved

CHELSEA are weighing up a shock move for Michael Owen in January.

Boss Phil Scolari has been told budget cuts mean he has around £10million to spend on new players.

The Blues value 28-year-old Owen — who is out of contract next summer — at between £3m-5m.

Scolari is keen to recruit a top-class striker to cover for Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka.

His first choice was Brazil striker Luis Fabiano but Seville’s price tag of £25m has made that move impossible.

There is concern at Stamford Bridge about Owen’s injury record but they will monitor his fitness and form in the coming weeks before deciding on an offer.

Owen, who earns £108,000 a week at St James’ Park, is unlikely to be offered a similar salary at Chelsea.

Financial restructuring and worries over the number of matches he has played mean a smaller deal will be offered.

A weekly wage of £60,000 could then be topped up by a playing bonus to £100,000.

Chelsea may face competition from Spurs, though, who are also on the look-out for a striker.

Boss Harry Redknapp knows a move for Owen would be cheaper than signing Jermaine Defoe, who is valued at £12m by Portsmouth.

Owen, fit again after a groin injury, believes Newcastle will continue to head up the table.

He said: “We know we’re a decent team. If we have a good run, fifth, sixth or seventh place is not impossible.”

this is quite possibly the worst ever transfer speculation

Poor result away to Fulham, has put us into the relegation zone

After a very good result at home to Villa we mess it up by losing to Fulham

We have Wigan at home next, its simply a MUST WIN

Barton ruled out for two months

Barton's career at Newcastle has hit yet another problem
Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton has been ruled out for up to eight weeks after damaging knee ligaments in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Wigan.

The 26-year-old limped off after 17 minutes of the match following a challenge with Lee Cattermole.

Barton said: "I am not blaming Lee in any way. It was a 50-50 ball and we both went for it, these things happen.

"It's disappointing and frustrating. My sole intention is to knuckle down and bounce back and get fit again."

The injury will result in yet another interruption to Barton's career on Tyneside, which began last summer when he completed a £5.8m switch from Manchester City.

606: DEBATE
This is the worst thing that could have happened, what a miserable 8 days - the loss to Fulham, draw with Wigan and now this

Speedy Arau

A fractured metatarsal delayed his competitive debut, but the problems which have hampered him since have been largely self-inflicted.

He spent time behind bars on remand after being arrested following an incident in Liverpool city centre which later led to him serving 74 days in jail for assault and affray.

Barton was also handed a 12-game ban, six of them suspended, for a training ground incident involving then City team-mate Ousmane Dabo.

He returned to action as a substitute in the derby defeat at Sunderland on 25 October and made his first start of the campaign three days later in the 2-1 home win over West Brom.

However, with just two further appearances under his belt, he may not play again this calendar year, further weakening the squad available to interim boss Joe Kinnear.

Thats a big blow - he was starting to play well and show a little bit of the form that he had at Citeh which got him and England call up

Kinnear stays for rest of season

from bbc.co.uk/sport

Joe Kinnear has signed a contract as manager of Newcastle United until the end of the season.

He arrived at St James' Park as interim boss in September and will now stay for another six months as owner Mike Ashley continues to try to sell the club.

"Ever since I came to Newcastle, I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience," said Kinnear, who was a controversial choice as Magpies manager.

His previous job ended when he resigned as Nottingham Forest boss in 2004.

Kinnear says he will have money to spend in the January transfer window, and believes he will have the final say on who joins the Magpies, not executive director (football) Dennis Wise.

"At the moment, the plan is that I identify the players I want and then that will go back to the chairman, and then I assume he will give Dennis the order to go and get them," added Kinnear.

"But they are strictly my players. I identify them, it goes to the board, they will back it, hopefully finances will be made available and then Dennis will be given the task to go and negotiate and get the job done.

"I have told the owner where I think we need to strengthen and if we can get the players I am looking for, he has promised me that he will back me up."

Kinnear's behaviour will be closely monitored by the Football Association as he has already found himself in trouble twice.

The 61-year-old was warned by the FA after swearing 52 times during a furious attack on the media during one of his early press conferences.

On Thursday, Kinnear was charged with improper conduct after calling referee Martin Atkinson "Mickey Mouse" following a 2-1 defeat at Fulham on 9 November.

But he says he is enjoying the challenge at Newcastle after stepping in for the departed Kevin Keegan, having won two games, drawn four and lost two in his eight games in charge.

"The players have been great to work with and the fans have made me feel at home since day one," added the former Wimbledon and Luton boss.

"We have a big challenge ahead of us for the rest of the season, but together, I'm confident we will make good progress.

"We have some very good players already at this club and hopefully we can further strengthen the squad in January, and I will be working very closely with the directors to try to achieve that."

Managing director Derek Llambias said: "Joe has done an excellent job since coming to the club, and everyone is delighted he has agreed to remain in charge for the rest of the season."

Newcastle face a north-east derby against Middlesbrough at the Riverside on Saturday.

Ah well as i feared the club wont be sold anytime soon

To be fair to Kinnear he has done a good job and deserves this opportunity, a mothly rolling contract was not helping anyone

Extremely unlikely BUT i hope he is allowed to spend a few quid in January cos we desperately need it
