Amir said:Why did he drop Colo? Has be been that bad?
Last year rumours of Barca putting in a 22 million bid on the lad and now he is relegated to Newcastle's bench!
Saj said:GA, I think you lot are going down.
All 3 strikers lacked match fitness and sharpness and werent that great. Smith was good in the first half but then disappeared. Guthrie was awful, Butt was very good and I thought Bassong was very good.

Found it hilarious, of all fans its coming from!
Amir said:No Offence Geordie, Shearer looks clueless as a manager. Not sure why you guys want him to be....atleast Kineaar got some experience and he wont do that bad in Championship.
Geordie Ahmed said:papers reporting that Shearer wants to stay on as manager regardless of what division we are in...
TAK said:lots of whispers about shearer and the dressing room doing the rounds geordie
an insider obviously leaked the barton-shearer set to
i'm wondering if all is well in the dressing room between the players and shearer?
Geordie Ahmed said:Might aswell mention it in this thread since its kinda related to newcastle
Gateshead won their playoff final today 1-0, which means they have been promoted to the Conference - congrats to them

madaboutlfc said:dont think you guys will beat Fulham.. youd stay up on goal difference most probably
Geordie Ahmed said:We need to beat Fulham cos i can see Hull getting something from the Man-U game especially with the title wrapped up and it will be 3 days before the CL final
Amir said:Have trust in Kiko and Danny
Amir said:Sorry if I have posted this before but whats the difference between Shearer and Newcastle?
Shearer will be on MOTD next year
Sorry Geordie!
Saj said:I cant believe that Newcastle could be playing Championship football next season it defies belief and if someone would have suggested this to me at the start of the season I would have laughed at them.
Boardroom strife more often than not affects the players and thats whats happened at St James Park.
Ali888 said:Newcastle fans believe too much in their supposed history, it is only history in their own heads.
The prostating themselves to the latest Messiah be it Keegan, Ashley or Shearer is just so pathetic.
I and many other football fans will be rejoicing when they are relegated to where they belong.
So funny how Alex Ferguson who hates Newcastle and Shearer like most football fans will play a reserve team against Hull thus ensuring Newcastle relegation.
madaboutlfc said:GA, I think your time is almost up in the premiership for now which is ****ing unbelievable.. just think about it when you guys sacked bobby robson and Sheperd restricted the hiring to british manager your dowslide started.. bloody hell, ill miss nights out in newcastle for atleast a year.. It would be bloody wierd without you lot in it.. I think Leeds and Newcastle are prem clubs so for them to be going down shows big clubs mean nowt in real terms.. I think the future is really bleak as Championship is a tough league and youd be without a lot of players.. I bet the muppet ashley would be crying in his pint for a bad investment

Geordie Ahmed said:Its just crazy how fast we have fallen - with Leeds you could understand why it happened, they spent a lot of money which they didnt have BUT we just have been messed up by Ashley BIG TIME
Sacking Bobby Robson was a disgrace BUT if Shepherd was still here then i have no doubt we wudnt be in this mess - granted we would still be mid-table mediocrity BUT he would have atleast backed the manager. Ashley has made a profit in each of the transfer windows - thats UNACCEPTABLE
The Championship will be tough BUT if we plan it right we can come back up (perhaps not straightaway) BUT the worrying thing is not knowing what Ashley's intention is. He aint going to make a profit on us, NO WAY - the value of the club has plummeted in the credit crunch and will plummet further when we are relegated.
Toony™® said:Shepherd imo would made us into a Leeds - if he was still around in the credit crunch era he wouldn't be able to get the money from the banks- reality is that Shepherd was buying players on credit rather than any profit we were making cos that was all going into his pockets (as shareholders). I am no fan on Ashley but he has paid off the debt and club are breaking even - even if he made a profit in the transfer windows which compared to our debt was only like a 10th of it is.
I have not really commented about our plight this season - maybe still depressed thjat Keegan got shafted and also didn't stick it out just as the credit crunch was hitting as it might of dawned on him - that Ashley wasn't mr moneybags!
Newcastle fans compared to the rest of the country have a very reasonable season ticket prices (although not what we get to see) - what we make in numbers other just increase the season ticket price to close or widen the gap - ie. the spuds!
well GA, how old were you when you guys went down last time and do you remember any of it.. The newcastle fans i know had accepted their fate which was wierd..Geordie Ahmed said:Down after 16 years in the Premiership - just feel weird right now, hasnt really sunk in. Keep thinking how Ashley has effed us over BIG TIME

Saj said:GA, a lot of talk today that Newcastle would have survived if Allardyce was still in charge.
Martyn said:Newcastle would have survived if they didnt sell their best player Given.
Geordie Ahmed said:Not true - he is a class keeper and much better than Harper BUT its the outfield players that were garbage
Things could have been different if we kept N'Zogbia and Milner

HABIB BEYE has pledged his future to Newcastle United despite the nightmare of relegation to the Championship.
The Chronicle can reveal that Beye, who has one year left on his current deal, wants to nail his colours to the Toon mast and finish his career on Tyneside.
And he believes the Magpies now have a major responsibility to get back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
With Michael Owen’s future uncertain, Beye would be a candidate for club captain after doing an excellent job in that role with Marseille earlier in his career.
The African missed the final-day showdown at Aston Villa through a hamstring injury.
But he added that United’s relegation has only intensified his affection for the black-and-whites after 3,000 fans backed their team before, during and after the final fatal blow to the club’s top-flight status.
Beye told the Chronicle: “The players who will be here next year must put this club back in the Premier League.
“I’m in – I’m a Newcastle player.
“I’m sad like everyone else.
“I’m under contract, and I will be here next year to put this club back in the Premier League.
“I have played for Newcastle for two years, and I love this club.”
The long post-mortem for the Magpies has already started after losing their Premier League status after 16 years.
But a choked Beye says that, internally, the club must take the hit as one. He added:
“Everyone is responsible for this situation. Every player is responsible.
“I think everybody must understand it’s not just about 11 players, or 18 players.
“It’s about a city and the fans, and a lot of people who work at this club.
“It’s hard to think about.”
And he admits that whether the Toon stars like it or not they must knuckle down and get on with life in the Championship.
He added: “Newcastle is a massive club, and what can I say? We’re really, really sad. We must look forward, and if this club is in this position, it’s for some reason.”
madaboutlfc said:how much money is he on.. Alan Smith on 60k a week was the most shocking thing ive heard for a while
madaboutlfc said:and they say in the media Allardyce would have had a wry smile and is a good manager..yeah your wage bill will go down but its still a lot.. any players over 30k(target wages of 30k a week) is just unacceptable as would mean a wage bill of almost 30 million(if you have a 18 man squad) which is unsustainable in the championship.. Hulls wage bill is something like 7-8 million so it shows how far newcastle is.. I have a feeling most of these players would not want to go and just like leeds newcastle would have to pay them a percentage to get off the wage bill
Oxy said:Maybe Chopra will fancy a return to SJP? Championship is his level...and NUFC is his love?
We dont officially sign him until July 1st on a permenant deal.....
Martyn said:Newcastle should go for the likes of Delph, Mattock, Naughton etc
"Seeing Newcastle United relegated from the Premier League has been a catastrophe for us all.
"I fully accept that mistakes were made during this and previous seasons and I am very sorry for that.
"I would like to say sorry to our magnificent supporters who have turned up in their thousands, home and away, up and down the country and who have given the team amazing backing throughout.
"And I would also say sorry to all of the Club's hard -working staff, who have gone about their jobs all year long.
"Bringing Alan Shearer back to Newcastle United was the best decision I have made. Alan and his staff did all they could to try and keep us up in the short space of time they had.
"Talks are now ongoing between us about how we can take this Club forward again."
