The thing I like about the NFL is the fact that for the most part it's a pretty even league. You will always have your historically strong teams, but you don't have a situation like La Liga where it's basically a 2 (or 3) horse race for the title and the other teams are just in there for the sake of it. Or even the EPL where people can come in, spend billions like Sheikh Mansour and turn a club into a powerhouse overnight. In the NFL because of the salary cap you have to be really good at managing your resources, and the draft helps to eventually even out imbalances.

Seattle played as perfect a game as you can in the NFL.

What an impact by Harvin after essentially not playing all year.

I like Manning and was rooting for him but the numbers don't lie...

Rumour has it Eagles have signed Jarius Byrd.. OH GOD DEAR GOD PLEASE LET THIS BE TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eagles release Desean Jackson. I'll hold my judgement until I find out more about this supposed gang connection.

Have this terrible feeling Skins are going to pick him up, they made a huge blunder by picking a few busts over Desean now is their chance to correct it.......... Real sad to see the kid go but if we get Jordan via trade and get Evans on draft somehow all will be well...

Kid from LA that knows people who were in gangs and throws up the odd gang sign, WHAT AN OUTRAGE!

Eagles cut him because they didn't want to pay him and now they're tarnishing an innocent man's reputation to try and protect themselves from a backlash from the fans. Shameful lack of class from them.

I hold a similar view, this is also one of the reasons why we will never win a Superbowl either. Buddy Ryan cut Chris Carter in 89 because of a Cocaine issue even though that wasn't a cost cutting measure, Eagles should have instead tried to rehabilitate him which they didn't. This meant Eagles did not get a real receiver till TO arrived in 2004 and we went to the Superbowl even though we lost, at least we made it there and the saga will now continue again without a star WO in Philly and getting nowhere for god knows how long... Eagles fans wont ever see a championship trophy EVER...........

Think the Eagles have plenty of cap space and don't believe money is an issue. They've never been shy about paying for talent.

They've been trying to get rid of Jackson all off-season because he wanted a better contract and every team in the league knew this. Nobody wanted to trade for him when they could just wait for the Eagles to cut him. It's about money, plain and simple.

The Eagles just happen to cut him exactly 35 minutes after these "gang connections" are reported in the media, what a lovely coincidence :98: They're publicly dragging an innocent man's name through the mud for PR purposes and people are buying it, it's disgusting.

Let's not forget Ray Rice, who was captured on film dragging his fiancee's limp body out of a lift after he knocked her out, is still on the Raven's roster but no, the Eagles can't keep Jackson because staying in touch with childhood friends is inexcusable.

Respectfully disagree.

The reports about the gang connections first came out on March 10.

I don't believe that money was a key factor. Like I've said, go through the Eagles history, they've never been shy about paying money for top talent.

What I think is more likely is that D-Jack wasn't buying into's Chip's rules and system as much as the coach wanted.

And they never will no matter what the Eagles do. They suck:30:. Just in case you are wondering I'm a Cowboys fan :D I didn't know there is an NFL thread in PP. This is great :)

I didn't think there was a Cowboys fan who would admit it after these past few years :lee

That being said, welcome!

As I posted earlier, Skins very close to signing Desean,,, damnnn he is going to burn the Eagles sorry secondary.........

Thanks! Cowboys fans are never shy to admit they are one except for maybe when they are in Philly for fear of being killed or spat on their philly cheesesteaks by their vendor :p

You have no hope this season man, might as well start looking into 2015 draft prospects....

I cant stop thinking of Djax, that vertical speed, I think Philly secondary is going to be mutilated no way we covering Garcon and Jax......

Best way to cover him will to have RG3 on the ground.

Yeah but our Dline is average to say the least they dont get enough push up front, Davis will flat out have to blitz and have RG3 land on his head constantly like what Kendricks did to him for Eagles to have any chance.. I cant help thinking they shouldve released Djax after next season.............

True. We were bad enough in D last year. We dont even have Ware anymore. We are going to suck this season :(

Ware was not going to do much, his career is just about done... You would need to build from the ground up your team is rubbish at the moment....... Ahhhh another Hershel Walker type trade is what you need, it bought you 3 superbowls in the 90s ;)........

Are the Vikings looking to trade :asif

Happy with the first round for us, Robinson at #2 to shore up a crappy O-Line and getting Donald at #13 just means a beastly defensive line got even more deadly.

A lot of hype being made about Eagles second round pick, Jordan Matthews. Will be interesting to see the distribution of passes from Foles to Maclin, Cooper, Matthews, Ertz, Celek, Sproles, and McCoy.

What a comeback by the Eagles. Down 0-17 at halftime and came back to win 34-17. Frustrating game.

Geez Brady's offensive line failed bad today. Four sacks by the Dolphins!

Ray Rice cut by the Ravens after the release of the video showing him strike his then fiancee.

Obviously we don't know the full story but amazing how women stay with men that hit them. I have friends that suffer from domestic violence but refuse to do anything about it and I just can't understand it. There's no excuse, it doesn't matter what the woman did you don't hit them.

Eagles O-Line decimated at the moment between two injuries and a suspension. Down to 6 healthy offensive lineman.

Really surprised that the Saints are 0-2. However both of their games were on the road, still think they will progress to the playoffs

Another comeback by the Eagles!

First team in NFL history to start 3-0 after trailing by at least 10 points in each game.

Eagles do look good, but real concerns about their defense, Cousins shredded you guys and you won't be able to keep coming back from deficits. I think you will also beat the niners next week, they are in total disarray.

If D-Jack plays, Washington. Giants are very streaky though with Eli and could make it 2 wins in a row.

Great win for the niners, they absolutely dominated and it would have been a travesty had the Eagles sneaked it. NFC East looks interesting with the Cowboys and Giants getting it together.

Eagles running game and LeSean McCoy are in a rut. They have numerous weapons but it will all go to waste of they can't establish the run.

One of the most complete games that I've ever seen.

Loved every second of it, including the fans booing the Giants for calling timeouts with seconds left to get some points on the board.

The Pats - Jets game was pretty good to watch, I was hoping to head out there but I couldn't. Horrible run defence from the Pats but we got away with the win which is what counts. That touchdown by Veeren was the second funniest thing I'd ever seen, second only to the Rex Ryan's reaction after the field goal attempt got blocked by a fatty in the end. :D

thank Gotham Cronie! 45 mins trial for me to use :D

Btw you based in the city of brotherly love?

Eagles headed out to Arizona today where they seem to always have trouble.

Last week's game vs the Cardinals was close, let's see if coming off the bye helps.
