You don't know meatloaf? Meatloaf? Honestly, I thought everyone knew that.

No, it's not beef. Beef is beef.

Onions?? In meat???? *vomits*

And no i havent. No one in Ireland even hears of meat loaf unless its the simpsons

Here we use proper meat from the butcher. Not processed crap (well maybe occasionally)

Milk is milk. You dont add soft drinks to it

What you've done is the equivalent of adding gravy to white rice

You are missing out on something awesome.:malik
Cream soda with milk is a kind of HK speciality. Not sure if you guys can buy this kind of cream soda elsewhere

White rice with gravy is good as well.

It's a cooked meal, idiot.

This one has too many onions, I agree.

Gravy, not as in the gravy you have with meatloaf, or whatever gravy you eat.

I'm sure P_L and HamzaSaeen are referring to a saalan, right?

I was referring to the gravy you have with beef, turkey chicken etc.

I didnt even know there was another kind

Whod of thought that pasanda was the thing to unite this forum

Now for Mamoon to come along and say it tastes worse than tree bark :yk

Actually, the sacking of M. Akram as bowling coach already did that.

That was unanimous approval.

I ate two kit kats from box that my mother-in-law gifted me, Then I dont know what happens, I slept for 2 hours like I smoked weed. :D

Always wondered why Pakistanis, when they set up takeaways here, call them Indian restaurants. Where i live there are about 6 indian takeaways and they're almost all run by pakistanis

Tonight again, its going to be 7up with milk.

I have tired of Jam-e-shirin. This invention refuses to die although people don't use it with water but they use it in milk.

Jaam-e-Shireen is a mere poseur, a copycat. Use Rooh Afzah.

I had an acquaintance who was senior chemist at Qarshi Industries. He said he used Rooh Afzah at home, even though his company made Jaam-e-Shireen.

I haven't had either in years. :(

Scots were originally irish settlers anyway. Its ironic because then Northern Ireland was settled by Scots in the Ulster plantation...

Yup. The ones who immigrated here are still called Scotch-Irish. They don't get along with the "Irish" Irish immigrants.

I for one have a great affinity for the Emerald Isle. As an aspiring writer, if I had to choose my favorite author, it would be between Nabokov and Joyce. While I love most of Joyce, the story "Araby" (from "Dubliners") is perhaps my favorite in all of literature.

Other questions i had for you;

Are you from Leinster, Munster, Connaught or Ulster?

Joyce or Yeats?

Fianna Fáil or Fine Gael?

Do you speak Gaelic?

U2 or Van Morrisson?

Ulster (but not the UK part)
Yeats
Neither
Barely (the method of teaching it here is atrocious and is why 2% of the population can speak it)

Thanks.

I don't know if its still the case, but growing up in Pakistan, we got to study quite a lot of Irish literature. I think back then the professors who put together the literature anthologies for college saw the Irish as kindred spirits because of British colonialism and the struggle for independence.

I read not only Joyce and Yeats but also lesser known names like Liam O'Flaherty.

"Tread softly because you tread on my dreams."

And she didn't tell what it is called? :malik

just asked her about pasanda, she replied she also did not eat it. The one she cooked is just beef karahi. But she knows the recipe, She told Put Chanp into masalas with yogurt and after some time cook it.

I am always confused with Ireland, Scotland, England And UK :danish

In a nutshell, England and Wales are, well, England and Wales, or just England in cricket.

Together with Scotland they are Britain. For now anyhow.

Britain with Northern Ireland is the UK (a crying shame really).

The UK with Republic of Ireland (and Isle of Mann) are the British Isles.

Thanks.

Well the history of Ireland is remarkably similar to the history of India, Pakistan and to a lesser extent Bangladesh. Replace Northern Ireland with Kashmir and you've pretty much got the same thing lol. Got independence within 2 years of each other as well. Ireland also helped get more rights for Commonwealth countries which we conveniently used to cut off all links with England :P

The British Isles term isnt recognised by my government so i believe its technically incorrect now. Its also a dead term. Only used by imperialists really. Just refer to them as Britain and Ireland as thats technically correct (britain is scotland england and wales and ireland is the republic and the north). I know its confusing but thats my 2 cents

Yeah I knew there wasn't a legal entity called the British Isles. Just thought it may still be used unofficially or colloquially.
