Aha, I have found it. Mamoon hates them because they succeeded in their quest of love and got each other. On the other hand, Mamoon's cousin doesn't care about him. :23:

Currently reading a book called "Pilgrim" Really good.

David Gemmell was a brilliant author. Conn Igguldens books on Genghis Khan was good too.

I love Mongolian history (random i know)

Donal Cozzie has officially been added to the addicted PPers list.

PP is a drug. :srt

Milk soda is great for heartburn.

The physical kind, so all you lovelorn youngsters can forget about it.

Coke works well too, instead of 7 Up. It imparts a nutty flavor. And adds caffeine. You can't go wrong with caffeine.

I didn't have 7 up in my house once and I was alone in the house. I added pomegranate juice to the milk and it tasted horrible. I told it to my mother and she told me that you can't add such things to milk. I have only added 7 up, Coke and Pepsi to milk afterwards.

Theres a .2% chance that your his descendant if you're of asian origin. He was that good with the ladies :afridi

Actually the Hazaras claim descent from the 1000 ( Hazar in Indo-Iranian languages) soldiers he left behind.

Also there are recessive genes that asset themselves every few generations, so in Pakistan you'll find people with Mongoloid/Central Asian features. The stripped-hair girl in my "golden" post was one of them.

Where's Akher when he's needed? He could probably write pages about this.

He is an encyclopedia on such matters.

Read books kids. Forget video games. Video games will hurt your eyes, addle your brains, and you'll be flipping burgers at McDonalds. If you don't obey, I'll send you to a boarding house. And there's a monster under the bed.

Sorry. For a minute I forgot I wasn't talking to my kids.

I'll be very frank, its not that attractive a field for study. There's minimal scope, unless you pursue it more thoroughly (do masters, perhaps phD). One of my prof keeps on telling us that we'd be lucky to land a job at starbucks with a bachelors degree in Poli-Sci. As for what it's like, its an theoretical subject - expect to read tons of papers (I should probably tell you here that I now have to wear reading glasses [the kind aunties wear] whilst studying - poli-sci made me long-sighted), write essays - as with any other humanities-based subject.

Career opportunities are usually coupled with some other skills: you need to be a good writer, then you can pursue journalism (a lot of scope for journalism). Otherwise, you can turn towards teaching (need a phD for that), or maybe become a politician yourself (you'll prolly be far better off than the current crop of politicians that we have).

Thus, I'd say by itself, a bachelors degree in Poli-Sci does not mean that much. But if you pursue it completely, then there are some decent opportunities out there..

Good luck :)

Wow , I hadn't imagined a bachelors in Poli-Sci would hold minuscule value.. haven't thought as far as PhD . Thanks for the deep insight , it really has given me a lot to think about . At the moment , I'm studying Chartered Accountancy, but not too sure about my chances.

Parents are nagging at me to get a " Degree " :P as an alternative route to fall back on, if CA doesn't go as planned .

It's tasty ... but only with 7up/Sprite/Dew . I heard it helps with digestion .

Why not drink milk and then coke? Mixing them sounds disgusting.

I had these guests from Punjab once and this is all they would drink, even though the doctor said it was bad for their health. They said it was a Punjabi thing. :/

Its really refreshing. Try it sometime.

I do it because skim milk is a great source of casein protein, but I don't like the taste of milk. And I need caffeine, and I need a bit of fizz in my drinks.

Guys, I have had to delete whole two pages from this thread at once.

Please keep the level of decency (and respect the fact that it's a family forum after all) if you want it to stay.

Thanks for keeping PP such a great forum :)

IR! A friend of mine is doing the same, and she gets such GPAs as well. She works hard so that's also a reason :zulfiqarb

Girls are usually academically excellent when it comes to social sciences subjects like political science.

BTW, do you know of any U.S colleges offering fully funded scholarships for Masters in political science/IR?

I didn't give this a 100%, I'll be very honest with you. I was finding it a little hard to adjust without parents, old friends in a completely new environment. I generally go abroad a lot, but this was the first time I stayed completely independent in a new country and began everything from scratch.

It takes a personal toll on you, when you can't tell your parents how much you truly miss them because you know your mum probably cries herself to sleep every night..

But nevertheless, I hope it goes well for us in the end, InshAllah and of course, Alhamdulillah for the opportunity that I do have right now..

I really don't know that much about scholarships, sorry :(

Enjoying dodh soda atm.

Doodh-soda! :108:

My nazdeek ki nazaar is kharab. I need to wear glasses to read.

Its really bad for a 22 year old. Distant vision is decent though.

Same here. And I'm 20.

We're becoming buddhay.

Mango shake is the most overrated drink.

:80:

You need to get your head checked, bro.

I was honestly very candid with you, there. I wanted to do law (LLB) for the longest time, as it was something tangible like CA - but unfortunately things didn't work out for me/the situation completely changed...

But I'd suggest that if you're doing CA, then you should give your everything to it. You don't have anything to worry about if you're a CA :)

I used to think that the university from which you're pursuing your PS degree would also matter - but I'm enrolled in an institute thats currently ranked in the top 20 best universities in the world - and one of my professors still kept on saying a BA is worth nothing unless you specialise/do your masters in it.

Milk and 7-up. Best drink ever. Its not a punjabi thing, tho..

Milk and Coke? Thats insanity.

^ 7 Up has no caffeine. If you can have caffeine, why wouldn't you?

Try it with coke. It gives it a nice chocolatey color, and a nutty taste.

Woke up late today - 8.35am.

No time to jog today, I'll do it later tonight inshAllah!

Got up from the bed at around 9.15/9.30am.. Drank lassi again :P

Mum arranged a traditional Lahori breakfast: halwa, puri and channay.

Puris were home-made - had minimal oil in it, beautiful texture and were absolutely scrumptious! Not the oil-drowned, slick things normally available in the market.

Had a slice of leftover medium chicken tikka pizza (bec pizza is the love of my life :P) and half a puri with channay/halwa.

Alhamdulillah! :hamster:

Now I'm drinking green tea and watching Hindi-dubbed Doraemon :junaid

Doodh Cola!

I should copyright that. Build a factory, and bottle it.

:|

Doraemon? :)))

What's that show about anyway? For some reason, I can't tolerate people watching it... It's depressing.

I thought only old people were far sighted.

Welcome to the world of fine-print textbooks and premature aging..

BL , you're only 20 , #Surprised

Not "only", bro. I feel like a buddih more often than not. In a few years, there will be players in the Pakistan team who'll be younger than me

Maybe, one day.

Don't you guys drink anything normal, like lemonade?

Used to have it regularly at uni.

But lemonade reminds me: in Multan, they have limka and goli wali botal :)) Not sure how they prepare it, but I'm guessing it was lemonade prepared with kaala namak. Hayeeeeeeee :ahmed
