As the name says, post your unpopular opinions.I will start.

1. Coffee has an obnoxious taste.

2. Game of Thrones is a highly immature, dull show.

3. Anime is very unmasculine and is for those who are socially awkward and immature.

More like attention seeking opinions. These people want to stand out from the crowd by branding their tastes as exclusive and rare, or derive satisfaction in being an irritant by their consistent whining. Don't like something? Find something you like. And don't go around telling people why you think lowly of the things they like.

1. Hip hip is not music. At its best it's good poetry with a boring beat . :srini

2. Football(soccer) and footballers are massively overrated.

Agree with the football ,can't understand the craze for club football one bit.

1) I despise chocolate. Even candy but I hate chocolate with a passion. And its not because of medical reasons or that I'm scared its bad for my teeth, I just absolutely hate the taste of chocolate.

2) The Indian cricket is extremely overrated, the 2011 WC was a fluke and their money & power plays a role in them winning matches.

Are you indirectly accusing other nations players including Pakistan of being sell outs?

I am not going to make any claims because that is against PP policy. However, I am going to give you a hint. No ball incident vs BD.

If that's the case what are you even doing on a cricket forum if everything is fixed as per your claim. Why even bother cheering the Pakistan side at all?

I didn't say that. You did. I just said that India's money and power plays a role. Contrary to your belief, India is not everything.

Truer words have never been spoken.....You should seriously get a POTW for this brother.....

1) Indian union was a bad idea, you needed a more federalized system like the US, where everything except military, space research, power and national security would be under State Jurisdiction .

2) Muslim communities actively discourage setting up of pork shops and selling of pork meat to OTHER COMMUNITIES in most localities with muslim population, especially in southern India. Muslims are forbidden from eating it so they can just stay away, why reduce availability to others who eat it ?

When you discourage the sale of pork, you lose the moral right to oppose things like the "Beef Ban" .

3) Shwashank Redemption is dull . The Godfather is the greatest movie ever !

4) BMW's suck. I hate the "drivers car" tag that they always OVERSELL. You want a sporty german car , get a GODDAMN PORSCHE !

For this reason alone I would like to nominate you as the next Indian Prime Minister....BMW are basically the Asad Shafiq of German cars.....

Played a good knock once in his career and has been milking it ever since

ahmedwaqas92 I have face-palmed infinite times, when guys say "Aah, driving enthusiast huh, ...Go for a BMW, they are the best drivers cars, "Sheer driving pleasure", haven't you seen the newspaper ads !!" :69::69::69:

Porsche has had no single "bad sports car" since inception ! They made tough cars, impractical cars etc, but never a car that was bad at being sporty !. They never milk that tag so shamelessly like BMW.. Like proper Germans, they just go on with their work and keep making better and better cars..

Mercedes was always after the Luxury tag, so even with the SLs and SLrs and their AMG extravaganzas, they never put sporty at the centre untill this decade.

Even Jaguars are extremely sporty 4-doors.

If you can compromise on sheer engineering, even MASERATI sedans have so much more sporting heritage !

But this "sport" tag is something BMW put on even their most blandest, under-powered (read diesel 3 series, x3's etc) vehicles, as if they sort of "patented" sportiness.

Marx was a visionary ! Mao and Stalin were the trash. Lenin was against Stalin's ascension, because he thought Stalin would be too dangerous !

But these guys knew that every great ideology needs an iron man autocrat to make it work, just like Modiji is doing for BJP what Vajpayee and Advaniji coudn't.

Marx was an evil man who had no class.

There was nothing visionary about Marx or his ideology as proven by failure of 99% communist/socialist states.Sure it looked utopian and good on paper but practically it was as useless as Severeus Snape's hair conditioner.Look what communism did to Bengal, the cradle of Indian renaissance.Capitalism despite all its faults is the way to go and here I don't mean the pure capitalistic concept which derives its origins from Adam Smith but more of a mixed approach with heavy capitalist leanings.Millions died because of the wretched ideology propounded by Marx and his associates.Glad people quickly saw behind the facade and thankfully no one takes it seriously now.

Now the wannabes like to claim they are marxists to look intellectual but are found discussing bourgeoisie class symbols like BMW and Porsche. :))

The Russians overdosed and went full ****** on the Ideology.. What about china which applied it in controlled doses.? They seem to be doing pretty well.

Marxism helped my people too , to achieve the level of social parity we enjoy today .. Of course our state forgot to switch of the pan, and let it go overcooked.

Capitalism too had to be reigned in by something. There are still socialist minded politicians in the states and Canadam germany etc for that matter.

CricketCartoons Where did I claim I am a Marxist ? I come from a pro - socialist state with mainly pro-socialist views, that's all. What would you feel if people called you a Marxist simply because your'e from bengal ?

But at what cost? More than 10 million people were systematically slaughtered during Mao's great leap forward leading to complete overhaul of Chinese cultural, social and economic sphere. No sir, I would rather have 27% under BPL than see my own people getting mercilessly killed by my OWN state, which was supposed to look after them and not crush them like an insect just to fulfill some ideological dream.

Bro Porsche's are in a different league when it comes to driver experience. I have test driven a 911 and also drove a Beamer 5-series M sport. However, there is the small matter of the Porsche costing substantially higher than an equivalent Beamer.

A basic model Porche 911 starts at 100-120K Canadian, while the BMW M4 starts at 80K Canadian.

Amongst BMW, Merc and Audi there is not even a comparison. Beamers wipe the floor with the other two.

I haven't driven any of those. But aren't Jags also known to be significantly sporty ..

Depends yaar.. you cannot compare a 3-series Beamer with a F-type Jag. Compare the F-type with M3/M4 or compare the 3-series with the newly released Jag XE. The 3-series is still better than the XE but not by a huge margin. F-type is better than the Ms by a good margin.

Couldn't agree more. Seriously don't understand why people love a bunch of guys running after and kicking a ball for 90 mins.

Its a good sport to play and I thoroughly enjoy it for fitness but following it as religiously as people do is beyond me.

Yeah I used to love playing football but don't like watching club football and I find their rivalries are very overrated. I only watch the World Cup because atleast they are playing for their countries.

Exactly. I like watching the World Cups because you can at least see the passion in their eyes.

It works both ways. I seriously don't understand why people love a guy standing there with a stick in his hand to hit the ball.

At least you get to see 6s and 4s or bowler taking wickets .In a football game, at max there are 2-3 goals in all 90 minutes. If that's not boring I don't know what is.
I remember someone mentioning champions league as bigger stage for a footballer than WCs on here.Think it was Mamoon. Never heard something more lolworthy than that.
I can never imagine myself supporting Mumbai Indians over India even after 100 years of ipl when all the franchise are properly established with long history.

Classic case of judging Marx by his failed predictions rather his analysis.

That is because you do not understand football. Most sports appear to be boring/overrated when you don't have in-depth knowledge about it. Goals are only a minute part of the game - sure it is what wins you games, but there is a lot more to football than that, and that is why people love and adore this game. It is a game of tactics and strategy, and two tactical teams batting out a 0-0 draw can often be more entertaining than one team smashing the other 6-0.

Comparing boundaries in cricket to goals in football, and equating the IPL to the Champions League once again shows that you don't have a good idea of what you are talking about. At the end of the day, it is your opinion which should be acknowledged, but opinions don't mean much unless they are backed by rationale and sound logic. I don't understand baseball, but I won't call it overrated because I don't have an understanding of that game. That will make me sound very ignorant.

My quote was in reply to the post which described cricket as a batsman standing with a stick in his hand all day long.I understand there's a lot more to the football than just goals and running but I prefer cricket and just cannot fathom how club loyalties of some fans can surpass that of their nations.Maybe because we south Asians are more nationalistic than our European counterparts and put the national team at the highest pedestal.

Yeah watching Azhar Ali and Misbah-ul Haq score 15 runs in 10 overs is definitely exhilarating.

Sri Lanka deserve more credit imo they are always seen as nobodies and get no attention despite doing well in ICC tournaments. When it comes to football I don't think Kante is as influential to Chelsea as people think and he makes mistakes quite often.

Sangakkara is a better player than Tendulkar.

I don't know if this is uncommon but it is in the people I know: Roti > Rice

I think that's a tad unfair Mamoon. Some of us have actually tried to understand the nuances of the sport and still don't "enjoy" watching it despite that. And let's face it, football is the most popular sport in the world and ,therefore, to those who do not quite enjoy watching it, it is a lil overrated .

Aren't you the one who loves sambhar ?

I was talking about the general north Indian veggie dishes.
We don't really cook south Indian foods at our home.My sister used to but she's married now so restaurants remain the only alternative.

Btw SandyB didn't know people eat sambhar with rice too.Thought it was supposed to be eaten with the idlis?

You couldn't be more wrong !.

Rice + sambhar is the Roti-Sabji or Dal-Cahwal of SOuth Indians, the staple , any-time food. Dosa and Idly are strictly breakfast and occasional dinner items, but chutney is more important than sambhar there too.

I personally don't like Sambhar with rice, but for all hindu ceremonies and feasts, rice+sambhar is mandatory.

Roti(Trandoori and from wheat) > Rice in almost every single way.

That's cause you'd have only eaten the blander white rice for your vegetable curries in TN. Ever tried the bigger rice eaten by Keralites, that blends far better with all sort of gravies, especially fish curries and sambhar/moru (yellow colour gravy).

Of course from a health POV, cooked rice has too much carbs compared to Wheat, but its still way healthier than nans, rumal-rottis or such flour mixed items.

My college in Bangalore had that rice kept everyday ,even my ofc here has Kerala meals which serves that rice and they might go well with curries and what not but basmati or ponni rice taste better to me.

Naans and rumali are defn not healthy due to all purpose flour, that's why I specifically mentioned tandoori wheat roti, always had tough luck finding proper one in Chennai , luckily my ofc has it now.

The best dish from Kerala for me is Kerala parotta not healthy but tasty and goes well with peas curry/channa.
Appam is good but I don't really relish it.

I actually like TN ,AP food a lot and it mostly involves rice ,but I always get bloating stomach on consumption of the same, even brown rice so I stick to wheat which suits my body and is also my staple diet ,hate the chapathy they make in South though.

I think both are equally good. Isnt it just a preference?

It defn is and I love rice but had it for 10 years in school as compulsion and realized it doesn't really suit me and not to forget so hard to work after having any meals.

But tandoori roti made from wheat is something I can have everyday without being guilty and suits my taste buds.

Rice +sambhar with potato fry is remarkable esp when served on banana leaf and also appalam and payasam.
But again cannot be a regular.

WC-Passion Does it make you mad that I chose to eat chicken karahi and roti over biryani??:yk3

Rice, even the healthier whole grain variety, is incredibly high in calories. A plate or so can easily be over a 1000 calories. An average roti made with whole wheat flour on the other hand is barely a 100 calories. Unless you're trying to gain weight, the smart choice is the bread, not the rice. Of course the best option is to avoid both.

Lahories you need to listen to this........

Had almost all of those and many more. The best biryani in the world is made by my cook. My friends and family members will testify to that. I didn't even need to go out much for good biryani. It was heavenly. But have some high quality pulao some time. It compares to good biryani. I know you haven't had it
