Then she shouldn't have signed for kayfabe baqwas, should have stayed in UFC getting owned by Nunes and Holm.

She had a legendary career, better then nakli victories kids get the lube out for, thinking the disarmer is more deadly then an actual armbar, idiots.

Lesnar didn’t even go to the Olympics and he went into MMA late and had great success, just off Angle’s wrestling, assuming he would be healthy, he’d be devastating. Just look at how dominant Khazmat & other wrestlers have been in MMA which you’ve mentioned, I wish we did get to see him but he wouldn’t have been 100% healthy. Dana & Angle spoke again around 06/07, Angle said he would do it if he could do both TNA & UFC, but Dana said UFC only and Angle didn’t think about it again, besides that cameo in Warrior :afridi
Perc Angle would’ve been an u unstoppable force as USADA was not in the picture at that point so you could use any cocktail substance mix no matter how cracked and whatever roids. Just ask Jon jones

Good times. And yeah exactly Brock wasn’t event Olympic level but already so good. That’s why Yoel who had the same base as Kurt as Olympic wrestler went so far, so would Kurt.

But mma is an unforgiving sport man, despite the bumps and travelling etc in pro wrestling… Kurt knew that and chose the smarter option, and still took so long to recover from his injuries

True lmao it wouldn’t have been short lived with the personal drug abuse, although he would never take PED’s. When you go through pro-wrestling then MMA, your body is already so beaten up, like people don’t appreciate how tough wrestlers are, we saw that spirit when Punk went into the UFC & he was never an athlete so it was always going to be a lottery, but he never tapped out to strikes & won a round or two on the judges cards which was a miracle in itself, it’s even more surreal to see Lesnar have the success he did, well past his physical prime & a brutal few years with the WWE. So it was a good choice from Angle, I think because of his background maybe he could have had some success against the top contenders and a little less likely been champion, even if he did it would have been short lived in 06/07.

Can’t believe that first hour involved Cena/Sami in a match then Lesnar at the end, maybe the best hour of TV they have done in ages, what a great match; who’d have thought if you just let the wrestlers go out there and work you can achieve such wonders, I pray there’s some slim home Cena & AJ get to work together.

Great to see AJ Lee back, I expected a new gimmick but this is what the fans know.

Seeing the effect pro wrestling had on Kurt's body, it's a good decision in hindsight that he didn't go to UFC. MMA is even far more damaging on the body.

Seems like Cena's been told by Noseley that he's not getting a match with AJ. Now noseley is willingly trying to book Cena poorly probs cause Cena gave him the finger when he said recalling Brock wasn't his idea.

Talking about the inverse, really feel Chael Sonnen should’ve switched to pro wrestling after mma.

Dude grew up watching pro wrestling and his promos were A+ lmao, seemed like someone airdropped out of a pro wrestling event with mic in hand and initially said he wanted to be a pro wrestler. Rampage said the same. Both could’ve made it big in WWE.
This.

It's a shame Chael never went to WWE because I can think of few UFC fighters as good at talking trash. Chael was the pioneer in UFC in that regard. Long before that dips**t McGregor stepped in. Think he would have transitioned to wrestling really well.

She probably said no to Wade back in the day
:yk3

I mean it’s fine really, in all honestly I think whoever has been responsible for managing Nikki’s return has done a p!ss poor job, whatever peoples view on her, she’s a star in her own right and I don’t think they’ve given her that respect based on her age and misguided view on her abilities really, Nikki doesn’t seem like a suck up either so H could easily have put up these guys to it for the wrong reasons.
You think too highly of Nikki Bella. For me, she was nothing more than a sightly better version of a typical Diva. I don't remember any of her matches being any good. She was always super hot, don't get me wrong. But women's wrestling didn't start improving till Paige came in, and then after that you had Charlotte, Becky, Bayley, Sasha on NXT. What did Nikki Bella ever do besides generating some ratings for them from that dumb reality TV show and dating Cena?

Maybe Bella's return could have been slightly better if she was feuding with Liv, like they originally planned. But still I don't know if it could have been that different. You can't blame Triple H or whoever put this together for the multiple botches she did in Paris.

My man Wade on the other hand is probably the best heel commentator going around these days. Not that the bar is particularly high. But still catching flak for saying something like is beyond stupid.

Kurt's neck was in no shape for him to do UFC. Add to that, the substance abuse issues he had during that time and you just know it would have ended really badly. I think he knew this, and also, he loved wrestling too much which is why he went to TNA after falling out with Vince.

It was pretty good but slightly ruined by the fans. I get that they love Cena and it's his final appearance in Chicago but I don't understand why they felt the need to boo one of their top babyfaces Sami Zayn like that. I also felt like it was one of the dumber WWE crowds. Like, it was fairly obvious when Sami came out that they were going to a match, yet these people started booing him loudly before he even said a word.

Also felt like the opening segment showed one of the reasons why Cena's heel run failed. The crowd did not want to boo him. Even when he turned heel it felt very forced whenever the crowd would try to boo him, and even then the crowd used to be split with the Let's Go Cena/Cena Sucks chants. Heck, when Cena won the belt at WrestleMania he was loudly cheered after he cheated to beat their top babyface. The last year has exposed Triple H as a booker unlike anything else.

If this was any other wrestling promotion in the world, he was have been out on his a$$ months ago.

Also Michael Cole reminded everyone why he is a complete dope and only in this position because of his incessant a$$ kissing over the years of people like Kevin Dunn, Vince and now H.

First this dummy calls the Angle Slam/Olympic Slam, a back suplex.

Then when it's completely obvious that Cena is paying homage to Edge with the spear...even running his hand over his hair like Edge used to, this idiot says it's a reference to Roman Reigns.

Thank god Corey Graves was there to cover on both counts. Amazing how someone like Graves gets shafted to NXT while this idiot Cole is considered to be the 'voice of WWE', and their top commentator.

Think Noseley has banned talking about Edge, Bryan etc and could be telling Cole to utter such gibberish like Vince used to.
It's pretty evident Noseley never liked Edge.

I wouldn’t say like super highly as I have my preferences but I recall her reign as Diva’s champion & she had improved so much in the ring & as a heel character, what I am saying is she wasn’t terrible during her prime and that’s often confused with Brie, and I say that as someone who saw Paige & Emma work like top of the card main-eventers before the NXT women's boom. Nikki was like a bridge between the divas era & women’s revolution, she rarely had a bad match as champion, even with a green Ronda Rousey, and ultimately I think her legacy is her being the star which created more opportunities for everyone else, and at the least giving the four horsewomen the rub on the back of her immense popularity as we moved into a change for the division.
That TV show gave Daniel Bryan something to do so I can’t complain
:yk3

I am just criticising H’s general inability to manage notable stars that actually require management, it’s all well and good managing wrestlers who just nod & get on with it, but bigger personalities really show whether you have any leadership, whether people like it or not, Nikki is a big star in the women’s division, and not just her, others to, isn’t it interesting H has problems dealing with them and often leaks stories like a piece of crap about them being difficult and what not.

Yeah Wade is top notch, they should fire Cole, I think Wade and that other suit guy are very good, they’ve sorted their differences it would appear.

I hope these rumors aren't true and he is back after two weeks.

A giant middle finger to WWE and Triple H if it is true.

Who leaks such bs though and makes stuff up, apparently he booked his leave 9 months ago so it sounds like it’s all legit to be honest, otherwise why would he go out of his way to point this out, if I was being done dirty I’d let the rumours run wild

Bro, Michael Cole didn’t call that due to H or anybody else, he makes mistakes like this every week, I told you guys for months, this idiot was much better when Vince was shouting down mic! His mistakes are glaring and hurt the matches, it’s so bad.

Maybe this was why The Rock suggested KO as champ, in any case I enjoyed the run as you know more then most and got to see what we demanded for years from Cena, but yeah I would agree that most of the fans didn’t want it, maybe that’s why the trad wrestling fan in me felt it worked, it was similar in a way to Austin’s turn who wanted a change for other reasons.

I didn't get it with her. But I can respect what she has achieved. Again, I never cared for her matches but clearly she was very popular with the fans. Even women like Britt Baker and Liv Morgan have claimed to be inspired by her. Speaking of which, Britt Baker is another one we could see in WWE when her contract comes up lol.

Tessitore? Yeah, he's good. He sounds like a professional spots commentator and I think he has a background in professional sports for ESPN.

Cole should have been fired 20 years ago.

Yeah, I don't think you can even blame Triple H for this level of incompetence.

The worst thing is that he has called matches of all these wrestlers.

He was ok during the RA era with Tazz, maybe Tazz had a way with Cole? And Vince keeping Cole on a leash. Under H this is literally Excalibre territory man.

Yeah Tessitore, very underrated!

I heard about Baker, I don’t have high hopes because H wont know how to manage a strong personality. I really wanted to see Tessa Blanchard but people can’t forgive so easily these days, and another tough cookie for the Doofus to manage, then again, maybe they can get on the same page, Tessa should just show up & say; I don’t see colour either my man
:yk

Cole is still employed because he visits H in the same room with Seth,

Btw Becky is doing the cringe lord gimmick better then Seth
Cole was Kevin Dunn's blue-eyed boy. Which is what got him in the door and played a big part in him getting elevated the way he was after the PG-era. He also seems like an aficionado when it comes to kissing rear-ends which explains why Triple H likes him so much. During the 90s when both he and Kevin Kelly were young commentators moving up, Kevin Dunn played a big part in pushing him, eventhough Kelly was a far better commentator and more natural and knowledgeable to wrestling. But because Cole had a non-wrestling background for CNN, Dunn pushed him as Dunn always looked down on wrestling and people connected with wrestling. This is what I heard from Cornette.

I like Becky as a wrestler, and when she is a babyface I think she is perfectly fine. But she is absolute cringe when she goes heel and very hard to stomach. I agree, she is even worse and more cringeworthy than Rollins right now.

Yeah I found him to be pretty okay and bearable during the RA era days too. I think it's a number of things. Firstly, as you mentioned, he had a secondary role to Tazz and was mostly doing the play-by-play, while Tazz was the one telling the story of the match on color. Also, commentary in general felt more natural during those days. It didn't feel overproduced. If you've watched wrestling in the last decade plus you will know that they are always trying to hit certain buzzwords and trying to get certain things across in a really manufactured way. And for this I think Vince deserves alot of blame too because it started during his time and has carried over to present.

I have to disagree there bro. Nobody compares to the mark in the mask. As bad as Cole is atleast he can half-way fool you into thinking he is a commentator when you first see him. Excrement is the very embodiment of what happens when you let the marks get into the business. He is an affront to wrestling. It's like a guy who did plays in the alleys for hobos 20 years ago thinking he was once an actor, now being asked to give his expert opinions on the art of acting lol.

Cena v Lesnar
Drew v Cody
Punk/AJ v Seth/Becky
Usos v Bron Bron

Wrestlepalooza is likely going to have one of the best WWE PLE cards of the entire year. Will be interesting to see how Triple H screws this up.

Not sure what Bubba said here was so offensive. He hit the nail on the head. And this is coming from someone who watches AEW and enjoys the few bright spots that are still there.

If AEW and it's fans accepted what it is and made peace with that fact, everyone would be far better off. But instead they try to delude themselves into thinking they have started some kind of great wrestling revolution.

Eagerly waiting for Seth Punk eons long feud to end.
Hopefully Punk and AJ Styles can feud over WHC afterwards.
Cody Punk is another blockbuster feud WWE keeps delaying.

Which is why making him a cool heel and maybe having him go back to thuganomics character or one along the lines of Jakob Toretto (F9 version) type of serious heel would have generated much heat. Sometimes all WWE needs to do is to just give the audience what they want.
But I guess the heel run was fine, atleast we got to see him winning the title again and have mini feuds with Randy and Punk.

I wouldn't hold out hope for Punk v AJ styles knowing the way H has booked AJ

Punk v Cody will definitely happen down the line. But I don't mind them delaying it because it should happen when Punk is a heel

I hear you, but the masked mark makes me laugh, while Cole just makes me angry and want to something off the edge of a cliff

What if AJ told them privately he wants out & this is their way of keeping him under the radar & using him like a glorified jobber.

@RedwoodOriginal Becky is getting heat & doing a good job in an old fashioned sense, she’s very good at getting people worked up & is terrific in the ring, I hate the gimmick personally but I meant she is doing Seth’s role way better, Seth to me is up there with H as the most over-pushed talent in wrestling history, but very little to show for it.

@RedwoodOriginal Did you watch any of the ECW Wrestlepalooza events, I don’t think they were any good? I wonder what the motivation was to bring this event back……..Besides TKO resurrecting the most obscure PPV’s to pocket extra cash every few weeks…..

I agree there. I always find it funny how the mark goes off on a weird tangent mid-match talking about some obscure Japanese wrestling match that only he saw. Then proceeds to scream Tope Com Hilo!! and run down 20 matches in under 2 mins

I dunno if I shared this video before but it's absolutely hilarious 🤣🤣

I've definitely seen some matches but not any full events. From what I recall, these were special events but not PPVs and were fairly difficult to find when I was bingeing old ECW. I have seen all the ECW PPVs but very few of these special events.

I don't want to sell Becky short. For me, she's the greatest female wrestler in modern history after Charlotte. And a very good and natural babyface. But I just can't stand her as a heel. It isn't even just this run. Her last heel run was a pretty big flop too where you had everyone cheering her and not buying her as a heel at all. Even now I'd argue that it feels more like cheap heat. And the material feels very uninspired.
