the 1st test.. reason why Inzi has got Farhat and Butt bowling ...
pacman said:What is meant by retired out?
The terms I have heard before are "retired hurt" or just "retired", and it would not count as a wicket. Does it mean that Farhat has declared himself out and hence the score line 91/1???
prepare said:unfortunately i believe you are correct
i think it may be due to thed fact these are official first-class games and not practice matches as such
pacman said:I still don't get it. In internationalal matches, I have seen batsmen retire or get hurt and then retire. In those matches I have seen the batsman come back, if it was needed. The term "retired out" is new to me,... why would they not just declare him as retired, and then the wicket column would read 0 instead of 1.
prepare said:i think the batsmen walked to give other batsmen practice, injury is different and yes what you are saying does happen but i think they have to agree before the match that someone can retire
UsmanCHADDA said:Farhat is taking his time here. 16 from 33 balls, and taking just a single from the last over (bowled by Broad).
Sid100 said:i cant believe the selectors chose jones over read after 150 against us,
im not complaing id rather be up against jones as he wont score much and he'll drop many catches, which is good for us.
Whippy squash said:So Pakistan have been thumped by a second string batting lineup and bowled out by what is essentially a third string bowling attack, given that a lot of our second string attack will be playing in the real test match on Thursday. Not a great start to the tour. However, what worries me as an England fan is that when a good side has a rubbish practice game they usually come good later on.
