4 ducks in our innings!!!
Well Kaneria's was expected. And truth be told, I'd rather Inzi and Moyo get a duck than Butt/Farhat cause you know they will come good

some ppl taking the result of this match a bit too seriously - like Easa pointed out practice matches dont mean that much - aslong as we perform when the real matches start

england a batting again, they want to tire our bowlers down

what a strange move, maybe they dont want inzin and MY to score runs or maybe they want cook to score some runs

What do u think???

Pakistan should start bowling with bowlers like Butt and Younis Khan. Maybe give Inzi a chance to turn his arm over.

England are missing their top bowler in an attack that only had three quicks to start with. I doubt they can bowl again just yet.. and as you say they probably want to see if Cookie can get some runs this time around.

End of Innings Analysis

JWM Dalrymple 24 9 61 4 2.54
AGR Loudon 10.1 1 28 3 2.75
==========================
Spinners = 34.1 10 89 7

Pakistan
Danish Kaneria 48 7 158 4 3.29
Imran Farhat 17 2 55 0 3.23
Salman Butt 1 0 4 0 4.00
=======================
66 9 217 4

We all criticize kumble as a 5th day bowler, but look at our star performer, the one who is going to replace Shane.....

All Hail King Kaneria....

Amjid bro, just a practice game.

Last year, ESSEX piled on the runs against Australia, 500 in one day. Cook made a 200.

That doesn't make Australia a bad side.

yeah its just a practice match. so pakistan arent trying :28:

funny how england get slated for been arogant etc and make cheap excuses.

seems pakistani fans are doing same.

Am glad pakistan have been given this lesson coz it will make team focus and perform better come 1st test!

I think this is a brilliant idea......... Infact, I think the attack for second innings should start from # 1.

May be ask Kami to have a bowl as well.... Give kaneria a chance again so that he can get 5 for 200 again....

Pakistan do have a reputation of being slow starters to a series.

Pakistan usually need a lesson before they start producing results

am not writing pakistans chances off but hopefully some smart mouth pak fans will shut up and gain some sense of reality instead of making predictions out of fantasy.

It would be much better to give Farhat some bowling practice. No way Bob is going to let Sallu bowl in international games

How smart am I? :11:

Pakistan bowling with Butt and Farhat in tandem! Exactly what England A deserve!

This is getting good. Pakistan rolled over with their middle order rocks making a big blob between them now England piling on the misery for their bowlers.

RWT Key b Imran Farhat 17 (23m 16b 3x4 0x6) sr: 106.25
fow: 25/1; partnership: 25 runs

Farhat gets the key wicket of Key!

RWT Key b Imran Farhat 17 (16b)

England A 25/1 in 5.2 overs

Cook 7*
Bell 0*

i wouldnt call it a misery weve got butt and farhat bowling, world class spinners a leggie and an offie

Lets see if they really do 'pile' on the misery for our bowlers

Butt to have atleast 600 wickets when he retires!

Who needs Kaneria in the team when you have Salman Butt

Our great openers are also great spinners! Butt and Farhat have bowled 3 overs between them and have only conceeded 8 runs, with a wicket aswell!

i thought close was at 6pm...how come they are still playing?

Hours of play: 11am start, Lunch 1pm-1.40, Tea 3.40-4, Close 6.00
Current time: 18:20 local, 17:20 GMT

This is what crapinfo says

Its alright guys, Pakistan is just trying to give the English cricketers an air of confidence before they pull the wool over their eyes with a beastly performance :21:

I think england A are may declare when they have posted about 400+ or so because they know that the best way to get 10pk wickets is if Pk are trying to win the match.

what do you guys think??

Well this is the shock that Pakistan needed to wake up. Better now than in the actual tests.

yes and inzi will wake up from his slumber and hit a matchwinning double hundred (btw im not being sarcastic)

STUMPS

England A 595/9d & 35/1 (10.0 ov)
Pakistanis 242
England A lead by 388 runs with 9 wickets remaining

England A RR 3.50

England A clearly never had any desire to win this match.

Hash bhai,
do you think we have nothing to worry for thursday and Pak will come good?

I am not worried Fessal bro.

As I said.......the main reason for this batting failure is two ducks in our middle order from Yousaf and Inzi. That is not something which happens very often and is not going to happen again for a long time (maybe even never again, given that Inzi will most probs reture after the WC). Both are experienced cricketers who have played and done well in England before. Inzi in particular always comes good for Pakistan when we most need it and I don't see why this series will be any different.

What is more important for me is that the likes of Butt, Farhat, Malik, Faisal and Kamran get some time in the middle. They have all done so at some point.

Relax bhai......we will be ready to give England a phainty come Thursday :D

I agree hash bhai I cannot remember the last time both of your middle order giants went for ducks. England A can count themselves very lucky for that to happen but it will not happen again

Agree. Inzi always seems to come good when the team is in dire need of it.

Agree with Hash when was the last time inzi and yousef made ducks on the same day in the same innings never me thinks . . .

Thanks for your reply. Am actually not worried anymore as your post earlier in the thread made me realised and am relaxed. Inshallah as you say we are going to give the English a phainty in these 2 series they will never forget and offcourse in the 20.20 as well.

Should be interesting as to what England A would decide to do. They are already 388 runs ahead, maybe they will add 100-150 runs more and then give Pakistan 500+ to chase. Most likely the game will be a draw. I just hope that our batsmen get to play today for atleast 40 overs

Hi Guys I am back here was just reading the last few posts and some of the guys seemed worried about the batting,Well i am not worried at the moment untill this happens in the test match after all this is a practise match let England be happy as well that the Pakistanis are not batting that well.

All i am concerned about Will Boom Boom play?

England have recalled batsman Ian Bell for next week's first Test against Pakistan in the absence of injured all-rounder Andrew Flintoff.
Jon Lewis and Sajid Mahmood were named in a squad of 13, with Matthew Hoggard a doubt because of an injured hand.

Andrew Strauss will captain the side at Lord's on Thursday, while Flintoff recovers from an ankle injury.

Steve Harmison returns after missing the first series of the summer, the 1-1 tie with Sri Lanka, with a shin injury.

Bell was dropped for the three-Test series to make room for the impressive Alastair Cook, but is likely to bat at six against Pakistan after hitting 74 in this week's tour game.

He and Paul Collingwood are likely to be asked to bowl medium pace in the absence of Flintoff.

"You can't replace the irreplaceable so you either weaken the batting or the bowling," said selector David Graveney.

"The scenario is that Ian Bell will play and he and Paul Collingwood will supplement the four-man attack.

"Bell fully justifies being called in and I'm sure he knows there is a lot of competition, not just against Pakistan but also in the winter."

England are sweating over the fitness of senior pace bowler Hoggard, who cut his bowling hand badly on Saturday, needing six stitches.

"We'll give him the maximum amount of time to prove his fitness," said Graveney.

"It's a nasty injury on his bowling hand but hopefully he will be able to bowl on Thursday.

"He would be a huge loss, particularly when Freddie's not available."

There was no place in the squad for off-spin all-rounder Jamie Dalrymple, one of England's few successes in the one-day debacle against Sri Lanka.

Instead, Monty Panesar is the lone specialist slow bowler in the squad, despite continuing fears over his fielding ability.

England squad: A Strauss (capt), M Trescothick, A Cook, K Pietersen, P Collingwood, I Bell, G Jones (wkt), L Plunkett, M J Hoggard, S Harmison, J Lewis, M Panesar, S Mahmood.

If Asif is not going to play mark my words Afridi is in the playing elevan

Jamie Dalrymple Misses out which is harsh on the guy he has done well

and there is just now start delayed on cricinfo they are saying nothing about the rain

Thats what is on the cricinfo too but there i no time mentioned when the game will start....do you think England will fancy their chances and will try to go for a win?

I doubt it.

Although I don't really know what kind of captain Rob Key is so he may yet surprise us.

Either way it doesn't really matter.

Pakistan batted for 73.1 overs in their 1st innings so if i were Key i would have given my bowlers atleast 55-60 overs to bowl at the Pakistani batsmen

Shouldnt they have given the ball to any medium pacer it just rained so why not allow your premium bowlers to try and take advantage

A disastrous match for Pakistan. I wouldnt blame Key for ensuring that his team batted out the rest of the day and therefore not providing Pakistan with an opportunity to bat ssecond time around.

Afridi_Fan said:
Salman Butt and Imran Farhat bowling i cant understand that
With Asif injured they probably dont want any more injuries to frontline bowlers so will bowl them as little as possible

I do however feel sorry for the fans who have paid to watch this match. Key could quite easily have set Pakistan a victory target if he wanted to and thus ensuring some entertainment for the crowd on day 4.

But they should use the conditions too the main bowlers i mean and if they can take both bell and cook cheaply they might have an edge over them as both are in the squad for test
