Tour Match: England A v Pakistan [Updates & Post Match]

faisal iqbal is a neat player, he settles in well at difficult times and provides good partnerships with our batsmen, i really like his technique and i hope in the future he can become a match winning batsmen for us inshallah!

I think he will....He has great talent...

But whatever Rana i dont want him in the side ahead of Mr Boom Boom coz Afridi will bowl as well which is going to be a plus and Iqbal has already been dropped as i have posted earlier

Yes, i wouldnt like to see him in the side ahead of Afridi....

Drp Afridi and he will tell you a real good lesson which Micheal Vaughan learned at Faisalabad

Its about the time the loadshedding starts and there will be no light for one hour :((

This doesnt look too good for Hoggy....

Ohh No butt is gone............Last wicket Salman Butt c Shah b Dalrymple 63 (132m 123b 12x4 0x6) sr: 51.21
fow: 116/2; partnership: 76 runs

Once again he threw away the chance of making a real big one...so i guess Farhat is still in conttention for that opening slot with Malik for the 1st test

Butt had an opportunity here. If he had scored a 100 it would have been very difficult to not pick him for Lords. He has just blown it completely.

In the mean while Mr Nephew scores another boundary............120/2

This guy J. Dalrymple well looks like that he will play at Lords there was on BBC aboput him he probably will be in the squad atleast

Last wicket Mohammad Yousuf c sub b Broad 0 (9m 5b 0x4 0x6) sr: 0.00
fow: 123/3; partnership: 7 runs

Here is the big gun

Inzi walks in

well maybe faisal iqbal should play ahead of Yousuf if he is in better form.

LoLz Osman nice suggestion but i cant see that to happen remember just a week ago Yousaf made us win that ODi game Vs Ireland Or Scotland whoever that was

Not such a flat pitch after all.....

JWM Dalrymple (ob) 5 3 6 1 1.16 (0nb, 0w) (Bowling against presumably better players of spin bowling)

Danish Kaneria
Danish Kaneria 48 7 158 4 3.29 (Bowling against presumable the worst players of leg-spin bowling)

We will carry a detailed analysis after the match !!!

thanks God i am no more a newcommer...the PP have recognised my talent and in one day they are calling me emerging player...I wonder what will happen if i keep coming here for the next whole series :p

and once again Mr Nephew takes advantage and gets a 4 to himself.....moves to 36...........128/3

aabbasi he is lucky you know why...There is no beast in the side thats why

Big Inzi leaves

Last wicket Inzamam-ul-Haq c Loudon b Dalrymple 0 (17m 12b 0x4 0x6) sr: 0.00
fow: 134/4; partnership: 11 runs

Razzaq walks in

Ohhh Gosh Dalrymple you got Butt and Inzi you are in the tests squad man

Yar he is lucky, but we are unlucky :) I know afridi loves off-spinners .
When talking about Afridi and offspin a certain singh comes to mind ;)

But i think now that Faisal has made his place secure, Afridi wont play in the first test.

If the pitches dont help, forget us getting 20 wickets of any international side.

JWM Dalrymple (ob) 7.2 4 7 2 0.95 (0nb, 0w)

The pitch flatens out even more....

Well if you are talking about murali in srilankan side, I haven't seen him trouble afridi.
Anybody who is prepared to use his feet, does well against spinners.

The only people who tend to struggle against spinners are ones who have feet glued to crease, like Azhar mehmood, Daryl cullinan etc.

Agree with Pathan but Dalrymple is in the squad there is no 2 ways about it

didn't do anything in recently test against Murli.

Pakistan in a spot of bother, looks like the pitch suits finger spinners.

You may be right about pitch suting one sort of bowlers over others, but good bowling sides tend to take the pitch out of equation.

Any tom, dick harry would want to bowl in seaming conditions, but the real test is to produce that special delivery in circumstances when things are not going your way. That is what separates men from boys.

just went on to check the score and Pakistan are wobbling :). The big man has 2 failures out of 2 and Iqbal still in doing well which is good as i want him to start the test match next week. Perfect really.

disappointing stuff... our 2 big guns in the middle order got ducks!!

He played one test, first innings against murali. Was batting really well, when made one decision that he should not have. Went back to a ball and misread the length.

Based on statistics your observation is correct. He has been dismissed 4 out of 10 times by Murali, but sometimes stats dont tell the true story.

He has always been at ease against all spinners. Unfortunately, there are no such facts that can be presented to support the statement.

just woke up, can't believe England A didn't declare overnight. It seems like they really didn't want to give us much opportunity to bat out there. Usually these games are held for the benefit of the visiting side, seems like England A were trying to make a point to their selectors.

I dont recall our provincial teams giving Eng much practiced when they toured last winter! Eng A players are also fighting for a place in their full side

Well initially it looked strange that they are batting 2+ days in a 4 day match and i was not sure if they would be able to bowl out pakistan within 1.5 days.
But they way things have gone, they might just do that.

Whatever happens in this match, the selectors need to take risks.
Umer Gul, Mohammad Asif and Abdul Razzak are three bowlers of same type.
It seems sami has also been instructed to bowl line and length or else i dont see how a number 11 can stick for 3 hours, if you bowl around 90+ MPH yorkers, bouncers to him.

Somebody has to go flat out, and trouble the batters. If there is no life in the pitch, we resemble the bowling attack of our neighbours.

Who said it was wrong? How is not allowing the opposition any practice wrong? Eng got battered in their practice games in Pak!

But then again... the question is who to bring in....

Mohammad Irshad has been over hyped. Who else can bring the much needed variety ?

I definitely would have added Afridi to the mix. He bowls the combination of leg breaks, googlies, top-spinners, off-breaks and faster ones, which are difficult for lower order batsman to pick.

He gets us the breakthroughs.....

wonder when will you guys realize pak dosen have a good attack any more...your present bowling is not even half as good as the likes you had in last decade.....as of now only akthar can walk into the indian side..asif is shown promise ,but is still one season old..anyways a line n length bowler..the way hes got thrashed in ODI's seams another irfan pathan in making..the rest are not worth commenting.
