New Delhi: Has Pakistan’s case on alleged Indian spy Kulbushan Yadav fallen flat?

Yes, says none other than Sartaj Aziz, advisor to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Foreign Affairs.

“The dossier on Indian spy Kulbhushan Yadav contained 'mere' statements.

It did not have any conclusive evidence,” Aziz told a full Senate chamber of Pakistan Parliament, according to Geo TV.

“What the dossier contained was not enough. Now it is up to the concerned authorities how long they take to give us more matter on the agent,” Aziz said.

Pakistan has claimed that Yadav was arrested during a raid in Balochistan in March this year.

Islamabad first said he was an Indian Navy officer working for RAW, India’s external intelligence wing. He was accused of running a spy ring in Karachi and Balochistan since 2013.

Pakistan government even paraded him on national TV.

India has denied the existence of any such RAW agent. An Indian request to grant consular access to him was also dismissed by Pakistan

Not exactly a U-turn is it? He's merely said that the evidence isn't conclusive, and it's good that he's saying it. No one should be convicted of something so serious without feasible evidence.

An unknown source like News18 that quotes GEO TV.

Credibility tou tapak rahi hai iss report se :))

it is a u turn from initial reports where they definitley said that he was a raw spy responsible for multiple terrorist attacks in Pakistan. No mention of lack of evidence.

“So far, we have just statements about the involvement of the Indian spy in terror activities in Pakistan,” said Aziz.

In which case he'll be released. This is how justice works except in places like Guantanamo Bay where all rules go out the window.

For an agency that's supposed to be the best in the world, they who must not be named are absolutely terrible when it comes to the whole idea of evidence. They suck at collecting evidence of foreign states acting in violation of international law against Pakistani interests on Pakistani soil even when it's obvious that someone is adding fuel to the fire, and they also have the unfortunate tendency of leaving behind tons of incriminating evidence when they themselves do the same thing against foreign nations or even their own though to their credit, they're good at suppressing it in the latter case.

No the world is not that simple.

It's very difficult to prove someone is working for an forigen agency because they are trained to never admit it and because the world of intelligence is very murky and grey it's almost impossible to prove.
If its ever revealed it will be years later when the operation has concluded or the agent has deceased.

Hopefully you too will admit it, despite your bogus username.

you should know the saga about Trump-shareef call. our civilian govt is Incapable of doing anything on International level.

but still the dawn title says : Evidence being collected

You need to read this thing within its context. Of course, they might not have hard evidence which could be proved in a court of law or UN security council but we know that the serving defense official did not came here to catch fish in Gwadar.

Just posting the following to give shut-up call to Indians and Pakistan-hating "Pakistanis"

So a serving Indian defense official is found within Pakistani borders with possession of an Indian passport that has his picture but different name and details on it.

Kulbushan bhai kya gulli danda khelnay aye howay thay yahan? :yk

India's desperation to somehow dispel the notion that this dog was on their leash is noteworthy.

Oh the naivety of some. Do you think intelligence agencies give full and accurate details of what intelligence info they have on an individual (or group)?
Apart from anything else, disclosing such info also risks exposing the intelligence methods, techniques and sources used to gather that info.
