Vernon Philander Discussion Thread

Had he turned up, England would have been all out for 220 yesterday. A big miss.

Definitely loses some credibility based on what Smith has said. Trying to chicken out of a vital Test against Australia with a supposed back strain is serious conchie behaviour.
 
Poor stuff from Smith, this will only make things worse.

Over the course of his six-year international career, Philander has missed 11 out of potentially 57 Tests, seven of which came after he ruptured ankle ligaments in pre-match warm-ups ahead of the second Test in India in November 2015.

Well he certainly didn't fake the ruptured ankle ligaments so that leaves 4 out of 57 tests he's missed. That's nothing really.
 
James is being sarcastic and having a go at certain people who keep going on about height and think Vernon is too short to succeed.

oh yeah lol, damn. it is unusual for a bowler to be both medium pace and fairly short though, and be decent
