Members of a Muslim family in Gurgaon’s Dhamaspur village and guests who had come to visit them were beaten with sticks and rods, allegedly by 20-25 men, who barged into their home and attacked them on Holi evening.

The incident took place after some of the accused allegedly approached the boys from the family, who were playing cricket outside, and demanded that they “go to Pakistan and play”. One person was arrested for the crime late Friday night. According to the FIR, the incident took place around 5 pm, at the home of Mohammad Sajid, who hails from Uttar Pradesh and has been living here for the last three years with his wife Sameena and six children.

In the complaint, Sajid’s nephew Dilshaad, who was among those beaten up, said trouble started when he was playing cricket with some others in a vacant plot near the house.

“Two unknown men came on a bike and said, ‘What are you doing here? Go to Pakistan and play’. They began fighting and when my uncle Sajid intervened, the boy sitting at the back of the bike slapped him and said, ‘You wait, we will show you’,” he alleged in the police complaint, adding that 10 minutes later, they saw six boys on two bikes and several men on foot approaching their home, armed with “bhalas” (spears), “lathis” (sticks) and “talwars” (swords).

“On seeing them, we ran into the house, and they all began demanding that the men come out or they will kill us. When we did not go out, they forced their way into the house and started beating us up,” he alleged.

In the minutes that followed, captured on a family member’s phone, the mob allegedly beat up the men, pushed the children and fled with the valuables.

Police said a case has been registered under IPC sections 148 (rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees), 452 (house trespass), and 506 (criminal intimidation). “Some of the accused have been identified. We are conducting raids and expect to make arrests soon,” inspector Surender Kumar, SHO of Bhondsi police station.

Sameena said: “I was in the kitchen making food when I heard a racket outside. By the time I went out, the men had barged into our house and started beating people up. I begged them to leave us, but they paid no heed.” “They broke the windows, our cars and took away valuables, including a pair of gold earrings, a gold chain and Rs 25,000 I had kept in the house,” she said.

In the FIR, Dilshaad alleged the accused warned the family to “empty the house and leave or else we will capture it”.

Sajid, who is involved in repair of gas cylinders, old furniture and construction work, said, “We constructed this house three years ago. We keep to ourselves; something like this has never happened before.”

Indian Muslims suffer this humiliation every day. The police will just turn a blind eye to the case leaving the Muslim's as vulnerable as they always are. This is what Modi has done to his country which should concern all sane Indian people. This guy Modi is making India a major laughing stock. As we can see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9C9j4jsToJ0 it's a rather brutal attack on a innocent family. It is terrible to do this to any family at all, just imagine the incredible fear the victims will be going through. What is really scary is how right thinking Hindu's who keep crying secularism are completely silent. Why should they "go to Pakistan" when they are Indians?

This is a huge problem that Indian Hindus are not seeing for what it is.

Right now, we (even though I don't practice religion, I'd fall into the bracket) have been empowered and given the feeling that we are special and this land is ours. Tomorrow, someone else might be empowered and many of us will fall out of that bracket. That is the problem with buying into political narratives as they are created by people with self-serving interests who don't actually believe in any ideology other than that of power.

Thugs feel they can get away with anything just cuz of their religion. Morons don't realize by helping create a nation of disarray, they will be victims at some later point.

Feel sorry for Indian muslims. They are such a sad state. Even though they go out of their way to show patriotism by insulting Kashmiris and Pakistanis, it still isnt enough. It will never be enough. A massive chunk of Indian hindu population was closet right wing. Even some of the celebrities have shown their true colours now. As i predicted before, a massive riot is in the offing in India. Even though Indian muslims are very submissive but still there is a limit of tolerating daily humiliation. Its a question of when, not if the riots will take place.

Riots have been taking place since independence. These are the most peaceful times in india when there is maximum of one major riot per decade. One riot per decade is tolerable in such a vibrant democracy.

Its like saying a few bomb blast casualties are tolerable in a population of 130 crore.

Indian muslims are living a very bad life and the Indian government does not support them. Eventually there will be a civil war in India if Indian muslims continue to suffer.

Unless indian muslims become politically strong, they are going to remain second class. They should learn from dalits, who despite being worse of all communities are so much politically strong that no party can afford to go against them.

My God... I am actually at a loss of words right now. How can people be so sinister? This is not Islamophobia or racism, this is blatant facism! India is on its path to become the second coming of Nazi Germany. Appalling.

Bloody bhakts. They are the ones who are fully responsible for this. They're the ones who've hoisted that cretin to such heights that Muslims' lives are as important to him as a puppy's life.

Don't even know I as an Indian (and a devout Hindu) how does one justify this? However there is no shortage of such bhakts on this forum itself who'll still be able to justify this.

Another reminder on 23rd March itself of why we should be eternally grateful to Mr. Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Thank you Jinnah

The reason why I didn't post on this thread till now is because I'm left with nothing to say out of embarrassment. I hang my head down with shame.

As a Pakistani, I am not utterly proud of the way my people have dealt with minorities however, I am proud that the new Government has done its very best to set its message straight.

Modi's facsist regime is giving more power to such groups. Minorities face problems in Pakistan, I will not deny that. The same is true for even Western democracies, just as we saw with the mosque shootings in New Zealand. However, it is not as common as it has recently become in India and such videos just chill your bones and shake your spine. I really, really dearly hope that Modi and the BJP do not win the elections because India is walking a very dangerous road.

Post Pulwama, sadly they've this in bag. That's how gullible bhakts are...

This is actually sad. Imagine having people force there way into your house and assaulting your family. I mean there are kids and women inside what kind of people do this? Forget religion for a second atleast show some HUMANITY.

They are too stupid to realize they are hurting their own people.

Indian voters need to stop this. History has shown no country does this work.

When it is 40 people on 3 innocents it is easy for thugs to act macho.
Eventually you reap what you sow and karma comes back at you. One day if you poke the bear enough it can easily become 40 thugs on 40 muslims...then they might regret their actions and all the Indians that stayed silent will too.

Just like all the anchors on Indian news that were calling for blood. Abhinandan could have paid the price for their bravado were it not for Imran Khan.

Pak doesn't need to do anything. India is heading towards a civil war itself.

What the bloody hell! These low life have no shame no respect. How can they dare to enter someone home and do this? They even dare strike the old mother. Bloody cowards, they should be round up and hang up side down and beaten with same sticks!

Honestly if the Indian muslims still keep quite after the recent incidents I wonder if there is still any «ghairat» left in them. This needs to get international attention as well.

How can people just show up in broad daylight and start beating up people like this?

Lol at shining India.

This was a secular fight over cricket. The first group was beaten up during a scuffle over playing cricket and they called their friends to beat up the second group.

Continuing on your reasoning: Typical Indians, mixing cricket with everything else, here cricket and family life.

It is the truth. The village is hardly 15 kms from where i live. This was a scuffle over cricket and they called up their friends to beat up the first group. Good thing that no one was seriously hurt.

Nice, maybe someone should do the same to you and your family next time around, not a big deal after all. Good (bad)luck

It is not a big deal because no one got seriously injured. One group beat up someone, and that guy called up his group to beat up the first. Not a good thing of course, but hardly deserves an alarming headline invoking the names of Gandhi and Q-e-A.

Pathetic, I cant believe what I am seeing here.... I wish I could destroy these savages..........

honestly this us v them thing needs to stop if both countries want to be a part of the future of this world and be successful, this honestly needs to stop government needs to come down on this stuff hard and say this isnt india at all how much suffering does there need to be before we as indians and pakistanis join the modern world. so messed up. world is laughing at us. no wonder in the west they see as taxi drivers.

No. They turned it communal because muslims were involved in the scuffle. It is alarming because it keeps on happening.

No, this was secular scuffle. Gujjars in haryana regularly get into fight. Just because one side is muslim doesn't make it communal. few years back a dentist was killed over cricket by some goons who happened to be muslim, but that wasn't communal either. It is people with agenda who try to use victims for their own benefit who give it a communal color, when most of these fights are secular in nature.

Do Indian Bollywood folks also twitter on this? Or was this Akshay Kumars meaning of ghar mein ghuss ke maarein ge?

A question to Indian (muslims) how come the muslims in India despite having a huge population keeping accepting such things?

Is there any big muslim leader in Indian politics?

As per witness accounts they said mullo ko maaro and send them to Pakistan. It is communal.

Because India has lot of diversity. Why would a Muslim from Chennai, working in a top it software company, care about this random incident happened in Gurgaon. ?
Up, bihar.: In these two states low life people ,Muslims & Hindus do beat each other
Rajasthan & haryana: Muslims do get beaten if they argue or whatever.
Rest like Kerala, west Bengal, Assam, Kashmir: Hindus get killed most often there if they say much.
Other pending states it's good to be there.
Mind you if you are poor then you would get beaten up no matter who you are if you get in to fight.

As per witness accounts they said mullo ko maaro and send them to Pakistan. It is communal.

Assuming those witnesses are telling the truth, even then it happened during the fight, when people say abusive things they don't mean. The fight itself happened over cricket, which has no communal angle. What do you think about the dentist who was killed, was it secular or communal?

I dont know the details of that case.

This however is communal and right wing crime beyond doubt.

Indian Muslims will still be saying: „Hum idar khush hai“...

They have to unfortunately

Because if they don’t then it won’t just happen to 20-25 people but thousands of people

I dont know the details of that case.

You don't know the details of this case too. You don't even know what caused those 20 odd men to attack and how the scuffle started. I know because this village is 15 kms from my place and I pass by that area when visiting farm houses.

Why is it that only Muslims are told to "go to Pakistan"? Is it because they aren't regarded as being "true Indians", and the truth keeps slipping out because these Sanghi cockroaches (no offence to cockroaches) feel invincible with their supreme leader in power?

Go to Pakistan is hardly an insult. Real insult is when someone says bhaar mein jao or jahannam mein jao, which I have been subjected to multiple times.

No Ind Muslim leaders only come out against PK, don't have the courage to defend their own.

This is why most north Indian Muslims were upset over Pakistans formation.

In a country with 35% Muslims, you would not have seen them cowering in fear as there would always be sizeable numbers nearby ready to retaliate

Disgraceful. :(

Indian Muslims being treated as some kind of undercover Pakistani and/or linked to terrorism is happening, in part, because politicians are doing the very same.

Today at an election rally Yogi Adityanath, the CM of UP and one of the BJP's star campaigners, referred to his political opponent as "the son-in-law of Masood Azhar" just because the guy was called Imran Masood. Granted Masood is a repugnant politician with a long history of playing dirty religious politics himself however that's irrelevant when it comes to the statement made.

https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/lok...-to-masood-azhar-2012161?pfrom=home-topscroll

If politicians are essentially saying Muslim = Pakistani = bad then it's no wonder idiots follow the lead and copy this.

Two More Arrested For Mob Attack On Gurgaon Family On Holi

GURUGRAM: Two more people were arrested today in connection with the assault on a family in Gurgaon on Holi, raising the total number of arrest to three.
Dhirender alias Dhire and Amit were arrested around 2 am, the police said. They were part of the mob that attacked the family with hockey sticks and iron rods over a game of cricket on Thursday evening.

The incident captured on phone went viral on social media drawing flak for the police.

The family, belonging to a minority community, alleged that the attackers kept hitting them while demanding that they "go to Pakistan". According to Gurgaon Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Shamsher Singh, one of the victims was thrashed with sticks and iron rods until he lost consciousness.

"We were playing cricket outside the house after Holi when two people tried to stop us. He told us to go to Pakistan and play. When my uncle objected, they slapped him. They even beat my three-year-old child with a cricket bat. What would make people assault an innocent child like this?" one of the family members asked NDTV.

ACP Singh said a case has been registered against the accused under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code, including attempted murder.

The incident was condemned by opposition parties. "Is this the New India that Modi wishes to create -- filled with hate and violence?" the Congress tweeted, urging Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to take stringent action against the attackers.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal cited the incident to claim that things are getting progressively worse under the BJP government. "Hitler would do this for power too. His goons used to beat people up, used to murder people. And the police would register cases against the people who were beaten up," he tweeted.

Police Registers FIR Against Family Attacked by Mob in Gurgaon

DATELINE: Almost a week after a Muslim family was attacked by a mob in Dhumaspur village in Bhondsi, the situation in the vicinity remains grim and members of the family continue to live in fear. The family who were planning to put their house on sale and move back to Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, have now become entangled in fresh trouble.

Dilshad, who was injured and roughed up along with other members of the family on March 21, informed The Citizen that police have now booked a case against him under Section 307 of the IPC or attempt to murder. “We were told this morning that a case has been registered against members of our family under Section 307 of the IPC,” he said.

The family’s charges against the attackers has led to nearly a dozen arrests over the past week.

Explaining his vulnerability Dilshad said, “I fail to understand what kind of system this is. The entire world has seen in a video that we were roughed up, my hands were broken, members of the family are still languishing in hospital recovering from their injuries, and now the police has filed a case against us. This is bizarre injustice.”

He added, “It has become a trend on the part of the state machinery to file cases against families who were victimised so they give up on their determination to get justice. This happened in Afrazul’s case, Pehlu Khan’s case, and now we are in the same league.”

Another member of the family reiterated what Dilshad had said, but did not want to be named, fearing it would create further trouble for her.

“We have been living for more than a decade here, we spent so much money constructing this house, we have a successful furniture business running here in Badhshapur, but what happened on the day of Holi shook our faith apart,” she told The Citizen.

“A mob just barged in and beat up us like filth. They asked the members of the family to go to Pakistan even when there was an Indian flag flying on our rooftop. Now they have registered a case against the men in our family. We just want to leave this place and go to our Baghpat, or to any place that is safer for us, and for people from our community as well. There are just two Muslim families living here,” she said.

“After security being deployed outside our house and assurances from the police, we had managed so far. But now with a case being registered against us, we are clear that no one is with us not even the police.”

Himanshu Garg, South Gurugram’s district commissioner of police, confirmed to The Citizen that a case had been filed against the family.

“Rajesh, the main accused in the [family’s] case alleged that he was beaten up by the family using a bat and that there was an injury to his head. We had to send him for a medical examination. The medical examination confirmed that he was indeed injured, based on which we registered a complaint under IPC 307 against two members of the victim’s family, the original complainants in the case. We are duty bound to do that,” Garg told The Citizen.

It was on the day of Holi that a mob entered a two-storey building belonging to Mohammad Dilshad, in which Mohammad Sajid lived with his wife and six kids. Prior to that, according to the FIR, the main accused had approached the boys from Sajid’s family who were playing cricket, and demanded that they go and play in Pakistan.

The likes of Owaisi are nowhere to be found here, but he'll show up to defend the Army's violence against kashmiris. Indian Muslims are a sad bunch

Why shouldn't FIR be filed against those from the victims family when two of them assaulted someone. It will be a travesty of justice if the goons who attacked the family are let off, in the same way it will be wrong to let off those who assaulted in the beginning.

Ridiculous stuff by those goons

These things happen at times , just that they got more visibility in media during non Congress ruling.
Either ways, people taking law into their hands for something they do not like in a group/ individual is still prevalent in rural India, not sure when will it stop :(

Read somewhere that in TN a month back, a couple was set ablaze as they married outside community. Even though one section is progressing rapidly in India, other sections are still in dark ages where they follow age old customs, barbaric cultural norms & rituals.

Here in PP i keep seeing only such threads but you folks don't realize that these problems are not just related to religion, some sections of our country just crap when it comes to acceptance of things different from majority.

This is true justice. Two men from the victims family had assaulted someone, and they shouldn't be let off just because their family was a victim in retaliation. Anyone who assaulted should face the music.

If he was injured during the time when he barged in and beat an innocent family in their home and suffered these injuries as a result of his thuggery because the family was defending itself in it's own home then this is not justice. He deserves the injuries and more for him and his thug goons friends actions

The silent, irredeemable injustice of the assault on an Indian Muslim family

“When our house was completed, three storeys high, we decided to fly the national flag from the highest point on the terrace,” said Mohammed Sajid, his arm in a sling, his feet unsteady, head still giddy. “And yet they told us to go to Pakistan.”

He asked: “Why should we go to Pakistan? What do we have to do with Pakistan? This is our country and we love it. Still, look at what they did to us.”

A delegation of the Karwan e Mohabbat had travelled to Sajid’s home, attacked five days earlier by a mob, in Bhoop Singh Nagar of Bhondsi, perched untidily on the periphery of an ever-burgeoning Gurugram. Shards of glass were still strewn around the house, blood smudges were visible on the ground and the trauma was etched on the faces of everyone in the family. Many were lying in bed with bandaged limbs, heads and necks. Children were still unwilling to step out of their home to go to school.

Sajid’s eldest brother, now the patriarch of the family, partly disabled, wept inconsolably as we sat with them. He pressed his head against my shoulder. “I don’t know what will happen to my family,” he cried. “How will I keep my family safe?”

The conversation went back to the flag still fluttering on their rooftop. “I don’t fly the flag outside my home,” I said. “We know that you love your country, but flying the national flag is not an obligation.”

Sajid countered: “We didn’t plant the flag to prove anything to anyone. We did it because we love our country. The desire to fly our flag high—indeed at the highest point of our new home—came out of our hearts.”

He is one of four brothers born and raised at Panchi village in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, some 70 km from Gurugram. They owned no land, and were always looking for work. So, 25 years ago, one of them came to what was then Gurgaon, rapidly urbanising and industrialising, in search of work and a better life. He found employment initially as a repairman for cooking gas stoves. Opportunities grew as the city swelled and glittered, and one by one he called his brothers, and then their sons.

The oldest disabled brother also came with them. He would stay at home and look after the children and take them to school; sometimes he would sit at their shops. They expanded their work to repairing a range of electronics and old furniture. In 2006, they brought the rest of their families, and each brother rented a home in the villages surrounding Gurgaon.

In 2015, a landowner in Bhondsi carved out plots from his farmland. Sajid had done well in his work and frugally saved enough to buy a plot and start building his own home. The three-storey house was the finest in the village. Maybe it made some villagers jealous and led to the attack, they wondered now. “Ya shayad nazar hi lag gayi (maybe it just caught the evil eye).“

Spilling blood

On the festival of Holi, March 21, the four brothers, their wives and children had all gathered at Sajid’s home. The women were in the kitchen cooking, the older men gossiping, the girls playing around the house. The boys decided to play cricket in a vacant plot in front of their home. Some of them were just three or five years old.

Suddenly, nine men in their 20s arrived on three motorcycles, their faces smeared with Holi colours. They seemed intoxicated. Unprovoked, they insulted the boys, calling them mullas, a slur for Muslims, and threateningly asked them to go to Pakistan. One of the older boys got into an argument, and the men roughed him up. Frightened, the boys pleaded, “We will stop playing. We will never play here.”

In trepidation, the boys returned home and shut the doors.

Nearly half an hour later, a large group of men, many holding identical tall wooden sticks gathered around the house, shouting abuses and taunting the family to “go to Pakistan.” Some carried swords and spears, some hockey sticks, and one even brandished a pistol. They hurled stones at the house, and smashed the large glass bay windows in front. Through the broken windows, they stormed in.

The family members began screaming in terror as the men immediately started thrashing the men with sticks. An older woman folded her hands, begging the attackers to spare the men; they brandished their sword and slapped her. A six-year-old girl hid in a cupboard, where they found her cowering and beat her badly. A child of one-and-a-half years was banged down against the bed. There was mayhem all around. Many members of the joint family hid on the first-floor veranda, pushing against the iron door as the attackers tried to break in. But they broke the grill on a window and came inside, beat everyone they found and even threw one of the men out the window.

The disabled brother, with a bunch of children, took shelter on the veranda of the second floor. The children pressed against the veranda’s iron door as the attackers came to get them. One of the girls there, Danishta, a teenager, displayed extraordinary courage and presence of mind to record the assault with her cell phone camera, realising their safety and a possibility of justice later lay in documenting the attack.

Indeed, this is what probably saved the family and helped them inform the world about what they had suffered. The attackers could not break down the iron door but the men on the first-floor veranda saw Danishta filming their raid. They threatened her; she says one of them even shot at her. The plucky girl carefully hid the camera, determined that even if they eventually caught her, she would not tell them where her phone was.

The family speculate it was the realisation Danishta had captured their faces with her camera that dissuaded the attackers from killing them. After perhaps 15 minutes or maybe longer—no one is sure—the mob left. “You saw just two and a half minutes of the video and it was so terrifying for you to watch,” a family member told us. “Think of what we endured for what felt like an hour.”

Mockery of justice

Through it all, their neighbours just watched. Not one of them intervened to stop the marauding men, or rescue the family. “They are poor people as well,” Sajid said. “Maybe they were just frightened.” Some people in the locality alleged a few of the neighbours joined in the stoning-pelting, but the family refused to confirm this.

The family called the police helpline and two men went to the police station around 8 km away. Yet, it was only an hour and a half after the attackers had left that the police arrived. They were initially inclined to dismiss it as just an ordinary dispute over playing cricket. But the video was evidence that it was a hate crime.

A second video, not so widely circulated, shows men with identical tall wooden sticks marching to the house, which indicates the attack was perhaps planned to vitiate Gurugram’s communal atmosphere.

The injured men, with broken bones and a twisted neck, were admitted by the police to Delhi’s Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital. All but one were discharged six days later, but we found them recuperating at home, still in pain.

They were worried over rumours that their attackers had admitted themselves in hospital, claiming to have been assaulted by male members of the Muslim family, and even badly injured, in what was a dispute over cricket, not a communal attack.

The extended family had held several meetings to decide what to do next. The eldest brother and a few others advised going back to their village in Baghpat. There are no jobs there and the children would have to drop out of school, they contended, but at least, living among Muslims, they would be safe. The rest of the family agreed and almost made up their mind to sell their house.

However, at the end of our visit, when we asked about this, Sajid replied, “We have thought it over. If justice is done, why should we leave? This is our country and we have the right to live and work and build our future wherever we choose. We should not let a mob frighten us away. We came here to build a better life for our children. We will not leave.”

As I was writing this article, two days after our visit, I learned the police had registered a criminal complaint against two members of the Muslim family. Gurugram’s police chief, Himanshu Garg, confirmed this later to The Citizen website. Rajendra, the main accused in the attack on the family, had complained to the police that the accused men hit him on his head with a bat after he protested when a ball hit him in the stomach, Garg explained, adding the police was thus “duty-bound” to register the case.

It is a sickeningly familiar pattern. In almost every case of hate crime and lynching the Karwan e Mohabbat has followed, the police have registered complaints against the victims, charging them with cow slaughter, animal cruelty, violence, and even rash driving. The victims are often jailed. So, instead of fighting for justice against their attackers, they become preoccupied with marshalling their own defence. In time, the police or village elders broker an “out-of-court compromise”: the victim will claim not to recognise their attackers and in return the police will not pursue the criminal cases against them.

The same cynical play is at work in Gurugram. This is the new justice of Naya India.

We called the family and our lawyers are helping them petition the police and the courts to strike down the case. But they are utterly distraught and broken.

I fear their resolve to continue living in Gurugram may weaken now. And if they end up leaving, it would be a tragedy, another blow against the idea of India where people of diverse faiths live together with trust, friendship and respect.

I have no idea why extremist are allowed on PP and how shameful post like these are not deleted. i wonder if you would call it justice if they beat you and your kids.

I don't know what extremist you found in this post. Anyone who assaulted should face the law. What is extremist about it?

no one said they shouldn't if they committed a crime as the article clearly mentioned kids were playing cricket. Don't how how they assaulted them criminal animals.

First tell me what is extremist about wanting anyone who assaults to face the music of law. I am not interested in your opinion about who may or may not have assaulted.

In India, Muslim has become synonymous with Pakistan. The news outlets blame Pakistan on everything. Even if an Indian Muslim is caught breaking the law, the plot some how ends up in Pakistan and ISI.

The goons have become emboldened due to BJP's presence at the center. A recipe for disaster who firmly believe that they can get away with anything.

Only if the rest of your fellow Indians had the same sense as you.

He will. This guy is as real as it gets. Never doubt him and his opinions. :inti

BJP is doing a great job in dragging Hinduism through the septic tanks of India. Beating up someone for their religion is the lowest of the lows. All those Muslims are Indians and they have nothing to do with Pakistan. They are our blood who happen to follow a different religion.

Maybe you should read too. Those who assaulted were not kids. no one is guilty or innocent just because he belongs to a particular religion.

I come to your house and beat up your family, then you retaliate and try and hit me in self-defense and you are the one that gets charged with assault. You think that is fair?

In countries like US, even killing in self-defense is allowed by law.

According to this genius it is perfectly fine.

It is so hilarious that we have 2 posts going on this board.

1) Some BJP workers beat Muslim family ( Source : India Media)
2) India Media is full of fake news!

Make up your mind guys or delete one post so all the posters don't contradict themselves by posting on both posts. I think it will be good idea to go back and read your comments and see how you are contradicting yourself.

How about you post your opinion on this thread and stop acting like Mother Teresa?

But this is not what happened. Two members of the family beat someone in a cricket field, and that guy got hospitalized. then 20 odd people came for revenge and beat up even their kids.

It is only fair that those who assaulted should face the law.

Western countries are nothing like this, the mosque shooting was an organised terror attack by a lone individual. Communal violence in New Zealand is out of character, at least at present. In India we have seen this sort of thing happening quite regularly for the past 20 years. You don't get a radical Hindutva govt unless there is sentiment to support it.

I don't think I have seen any such videos of mobs storming houses to beat minorities in any civilised western country. Maybe somewhere like Russia you might see it.
