Hazratullah Zazai smashes six sixes in an over in APL 2018

Looks a damn good prospect for Pakistan from the little I’ve seen , where has he been hiding..

He's an Afghan isn't he? You should have worked out he wasn't a Pakistani from the enthusiastic response of Mamoon.

This innings has impressed me though, he's shown he can judge when to hit and how to time an innings. Big shots are useless without the batting brain to implement them successfully.

Picks up another well-deserved Player of the Match award:

Took his time today and didn't panic. Others would have thrown it away but he played it sensibly and waited for the right moment to attack.

Most MOTM awards in #PSL6:

3 - Hazratullah Zazai
2 - Rashid Khan
2 - Shaheen Afridi
2 - Shahnawaz Dahani

Hazratullah Zazai has only played four games!

Well well well , what is the world coming to - so basically an unknown Afghan batsman comes along and overshadows all Pakistani batsmen playing in Pakistan Super League.

If I remember rightly Tamil Iqbal of Bangladesh came and did the same a couple years back in the PSL.

I fear it may not be that far in the future before cricketers from China come along to play in PSL and make Pakistani batsmen look ordinary

Well if you checked this thread you see he already hit 150+ in T20I vs Ireland couple of years back..

Zazai has been great for Peshawar in the ongoing PSL. He has actually gone on to become their most prized wicket. The way this guy bats, stands up tall, and hits the ball, everything about him reminds me so much of Matthew Hayden. Who else remembers that elephant-like-figured Australian opener? Was a huge fan of him.

He is a serious talent. The most talented player Afghanistan has produced after Rashid Khan. His ball-striking is on par with the likes of Gayle.

Unfortunately, he will not be able to fulfill his potential because of the constraints that Afghanistan cricket is subjected to.

In a better setup, he would have been successful at Test level as well. If the likes of Gayle and Warner were Afghani, they would have never made it in Test cricket either.

Smashing player.

If he is a serious talent, why did Afghanistan drop him after a few games in WC and has hardly played any ODIs since then? He might be a good tula for T20 but not for ODIs or Test cricket.

Players like him go through lean patches because they play high risk cricket. It is all about player development.

If he was in a better system he would have thrived in all formats because his raw talent is right up there with the likes of Gayle, Warner etc.

and the funny thing is that he went to LPL and flopped there too which is deemed to be a low-quality league.

If he had a few bad games then I would understand but he has been flopping since 2019 WC and I don't think Afghanistan has played much domestic cricket after COVID that he would suddenly become Warner or Gayle. As I said, his lean patch seems to be going on for years before this PSL.

He's a leg side hack, albeit a very powerful one. I would imagine the best bowlers would find him out pretty quickly. Mamoon is hyping him up purely for trolling reasons, if he was a Pakistani, I can guarantee his reliance on leg side slogging would have been torn to pieces.

Let's see how he performs against top class international bowlers before we start rewriting his biography. He has done well, but you can't really form a solid opinion on the back of two innings on a flat pitch.

He's been extremely poor so far in PSL7.

Struggled with the bat and has looked very lethargic in the field.

Not 100% fit or cannot be bothered?

TBH teams have done their homework on him and kept the ball away from his strong areas

Zazai is quite inconsistent.

He is like Shahid Afridi when it comes to batting. Hit or miss.
