Think that used to work well in the Dark Ages.

In modern countries, there are laws etc.

India doesn't seem to be a modern place.

Indian fans should remember that pride often comes before downfall.

I guess recent successes got to their heads and made them arrogant.

'Fell Ill, Police Took Me To Hospital': Bangladeshi Cricket Fan Tiger Robi Denies He Was Assaulted, ACP Dismisses 'Baseless' Reports

Bangladeshi cricket fan Tiger Robi has denied reports that he was taken to the hospital after being assaulted while watching the 2nd Test between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur’s Green Park on Friday. Robi claims he fell ill and the local police took him to the hospital for treatment.

“I fell ill and the police brought me to the hospital. Now I am feeling much better. My name is Robi and I have come from Bangladesh,” he stated in a short video clip.

Abhishek Pandey, ACP (Kalyanpur), said Roby received immediate medical care and insisted that he had not been assaulted as alleged in early reports.

“During the Test match between India and Bangladesh, one of the spectators whose name is Tiger, suddenly fell ill,” the officer stated.

“As soon as he fell ill, he was picked up by the police and was sent to the medical team for treatment. He is fine now and a liaison officer as been attached to him so that he can get help if needed.

“There were some reports of assault but these are baseless, no such incident happened with him. He might have taken a fall, this is what we have been able to gather,” he added.

An Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) official said Robi wasn’t able to communicate what exactly had happened.

“As he came out of the stands, he was wincing in pain and seemed to be fainting. He was given a chair to sit but he fell,” the official said.

The opening day of the second Test between India and Bangladesh was curtailed by rain with only 35 overs bowled. The toss was delayed by rain and then India opted to bowl first with right-arm pacer Akash Deep getting rid of Bangladeshi openers in quick succession.

If the fan fell ill, good job the authorities in taking care of him. If he was beaten up the spectators, it is a hideous act by them. There is no place for violence, that too in a sporting event. I just hope we don't see any such idiotic behaviors going forward.

The truth will come out when he returns to Bangladesh.

For now take everything with a pinch of salt.

The truth will come out when he returns to Bangladesh.

For now take everything with a pinch of salt.

Truth is already out. There is video of him walking on the lane and then suddenly sitting down feeling sick.

But apparently that video and the tweet by a reputed journalist of a very reputed publication isn't allowed on PP.

May be doesn't help the agenda.

Why are twitter videos from official account of Kanpur police being deleted?

First i post the video from the X feed of a journao, its deleted.

Next i post the video of the statement of the SP city of Kanpur which also included the CCTV footage of the BD fan walking and then feeling unwell and sitting down.

Police also tell that he came to India on a medical visa. What a fraud!!!

Posting the video directly from the official account of Kanpur police commissionerate..

There is cctv footage. He can say whatever he wants.

The guy came with a medical visa to watch cricket.
Look I seen a lot of posts on X with Indians celebrating the attack as revenge. He has also been savagely attacked by Indians in the past.

You will know yourself that CCTV footage etc doesn't always show the full story.

I hope he hasn't been beaten by Indians but for now it is appropriate to remain cautious especially given the underlying tensions between the countries.

The main thing is the mans health and well being.

Figured out if your in favor of illegal nuclear proliferation by Pakistan yet?

The man lied to get a visa. He will likely be deported.

Ofcourse he walking on the street and feeling sick and sitting down and all isn't the story, because it doesn't fit your agenda.

I am talking about the CCTV footage posted by police and not random handles.

Medical visa for cricket? If it’s true he should be deported immediately.

Police has issued a statement. The guy has a medical visa.

I was surprised how this guy got in. Hardly any visit visas are being given to Bangladeshis these days. Yet this guy is in India.

I'm totally against nuclear weapons.

But now that some countries have them I dont think the global powers can dictate who can have what and give to who.

Pakistan and India are both non signatories to the treaty.

My preference would be that no country has them and they are destroyed but nobody will take the first step.

Weirdly it's probably the thing that stops wars now. We won't have a war between two nuclear countries because the stakes are too high.

If Bangladesh feel they are threatened by a tyrannical nuclear weilding neighbour on its western border maybe it will help them feel more secure.

Again this is so far unconfirmed regarding his visa status.

If true then he should be deported immediately regardless of whether Indians beat him up or not.

So if a refugee was to be raped in India, would posters come here and defend the act by saying that the person was a refugee and has no status and thats why they had to indulge in such act?

The defense that has been put out by the Indians here is just ridiculous. And yet if someone does a racist attack on an Indian abroad (irrespect of his/her visa status), they will immediately complain and talk about evil west.

Now here is the funny thing.

At one hand, Joshilla is denying this ever took place. But on the other hand @Devadwal is claiming it did happen, but justification is that the spectator was throwing abuses.

Maybe discuss amongst yourself which narrative you want to spread here, and come up with a more united front to defend India

This is true actually.

From CCTV footage, it shows the guy didn't go through any kind of abuse rather his condition was due to dehydration. That was the end of story. Whatever else is going on around the Internet, are just rumor which happened to be false.

I personally don't see any issue him watching a match as long as his documentation isn't falsified. If he has a document from Indian hospital, then he can receive the treatment here and should be able to watch a match.

The guy has come through legal ways of entering India so I'll give him credit where it's due.

Because most bangladeshis enter India illegally and then occupy forest lands which belonged to various tribes thus creating futher disruption.

Does indian medical visa forbids watching sports?
If that guy have a heart issues and attends a match with full of people and noise, whose responsibility it is? Normally even a religious visa also will ask the visitor only to visit that place and leave.quite a few tableghi people from Indonesia were roaming around the country and were spreading corona during the first wave.till then no ones how much rural parts they were visiting and violating them.Any specific purpose visa is always places restrictions for one area. Even pak players will be issued only area specific visas after mumbai attacks(where they are playing)

I'm totally against nuclear weapons.
Except for their proliferation
But now that some countries have them I dont think the global powers can dictate who can have what and give to who.
look up what led to the formation of the "nuclear supplier group"
Pakistan and India are both non signatories to the treaty.
There is not treaty for nuclear weapons proliferations.

There is a CTBT. stands for comprehensive test ban treaty.
Weirdly it's probably the thing that stops wars now. We won't have a war between two nuclear countries because the stakes are too high.
Nope. the record is mixed at best.

Israel has nuclear weapons and still got attacked.

OTOH, Ukraine might have been safer if it had nuclear weapons.

Disappointed to see the CCTV footage.

Few years ago BD radical fans had assaulted the indian fan (the one who attended every sachin match) in Bangladesh. It is high time Indians stop being gentle.

Nice, as usual, a cricket thread turning into a political thread. Isn't there a non cricket related stuffs thread you guys can open and discuss your nonsense there?

Well the truth is... India is a place where people (of course a minority since we have 160 cr people) have absolutely no control over our rage.

We have a society that does not shy away from using our hands rather than our words, harmless trolling is not a concept many understands.

It is a developing country and will take its time. Apologies to the bangla bhai who was a victim to our Brute bhuddhhi.

What does his Visa issue has to do with the violence he was subjected to?

That is like apples and oranges?

India should be a safe place for any foreigner who comes here since we rely a lot on tourism and want to see it grow.

What is wrong with you people. Violence against a foreigner is like using a hammer on your own foot.

This then becomes international headlines and impacts the livelihoods of everyone in tourism industry.
Doesn't matter what other think of us. We Hindus have bad habit of being soft people. We need to act aggressively towards those who hate us. Give respect, take respect.

If Bangladeshis don't come to India, i will thank Ishwar.

First of all, i merely reiterated what the police said in their official statement. They also posted the cctv footage.

Devadwal bhai merely said that even if he was assaulted, it was because of his own provocation.

Doesn't mean he was actually assaulted.

Good thing is that since he has violated his visa conditions, he is likely to be deported and then blacklisted. He isn't coming to India for long time, atleast legally.

Indians will find a way to even defend this.

There was also an India thulla that had issue with an Indian fan saying Pakistan zindabad. This country is messed up, no freedom.
99% of indian fans will condemn this, not defend this.
Pretty generic your comments- but then that is par for the course considering the messsage you have under your DP.

Indians are very very very racist against Bangladeshi people.

Ironic part is that Bengalis are the largest ethnic group of India after the Hindis.
Really?
would you then care to take the 10 M odd Rohingya illegal pile ons who jumped the borders, who contribute zilch to the indian economy but are rife in every bit of crime, into your home?
How about showing your 'large heartedness' from the epitome of equality and fair play you think yu and your nation are - 'ArabKnight' ?

N
So tearing apart the stuffed tiger is justified?
Nope. never. As an indian fan, we pride ourself on our hospitality. The tiger dude is a true fan, a passionate guy and one of us. I see no reason for him to be attacked in that manner. I hope the police crack down and the people who did this are never allowed in a sporting arena again, along with a long stay in the local prison, fines etc.

This shameful, disgraceful behavious and as an indian, my 5 c worth -my apologies to every bangladeshi cricket fan.

however, to tar this incident with what is happening outside is drawing too long a bow. Maybe those who are doing it, need to look inwards and see how many minorities represented them in any sport any where and then compare to india.
Cheers and peace!

Exactly.

Wouldn't be surprised if Indian fans physically assaulted him. Nothing is off-limit for these radical fans.
hmmm....ever checked how many times fans of a particular country have had brushes with the law inside England stadiums? I remember clearly watching ODI 1987 in birmingham and the riots there. 'Nothing is off limit for these radical fans'...

There is a serious flaw in your argument if it means justification of a sports fan being beaten inside a stadium.
This wasn't a war zone, it was a match between two countries. How misguided are we getting... Money is getting to our heads...

But it wouldn't just be Bangladeshis, when International media reports it, everyone reads. Already we have bad image for women safety, not we are not even tolerant towards men from other countries.

please think through the logic, it is more serious than you think it is. If educated people abandon rationality, then what should be expected of the rest.

Wonderful, pulling these stunts in Bharatiya bhumi deserves this, he can continue with the theatrics in Dhaka.

THIS WAS AN INCIDENT HAPPENED DURING A CRICKET MATCH. PLEASE DON'T TURN THIS THREAD INTO A POLITICAL/RELIGION DEBATE. NO SUCH POSTS WILL BE APPROVED AND YOU MAY GET BANNED.

What reports? You are making no sense. Who was beaten? Where?

Bangladeshis are not liked in India, that's the truth. Public won't start liking them because of some international media.

But no one was hurt here.

And right now, women safety is or safety has been compromised in a number of western countries. I am not saying it, they themselves are.

It's entirely possible that he was beaten inside the stadium and the exhaustion happened aftewards too.

As I said we need to wait for the tiger to return home to get the full story. Being held under Indian custody isn't where we will find the truth.

If this incident indeed happened, I think right thing for a person to do is to condemn it instead of deflecting or shifting goalpost.

So he got exhausted from the beating?

Anyways he has been deported and a 5 year ban is likely.

Really?

Check my post #129.

Once i again i reiterate - this is shameful and i apologize to all bangladesh fans even though i directly had nothing to do with this.

If i ever met the tiger guy, i would perhaps have a drink or a meal together with him, for me - him as a mehmaaan in my country is Sarvo pari...

India, Pak, Srilankan fans look like saints and most mature people in the world when you look at Bangladesh or Afghan fans. while Nepal fans look harmless they will eventually get extremely rabid too. I can feel it.

Afghan fans I can understand because most of their overseas cricket fans look like poor refugees from the lower strata of the society and maybe that’s why they get carried away- so some excuse can be fount but Bangladesh fans hands down seem the most immature.

Fresh Footage Reveals Reality Of What Happened With Bangladesh 'Super Fan' Amid Kanpur Test Row

Bangladesh 'super fan' Tiger Robi needed medical help after he fell ill during Day 1 of the ongoing 1st Test against India in Kanpur. In concerning visuals, Robi was seen being carried out of the Green Park Stadium. There were allegations that Tiger Robi was beaten by locals inside the stadium. However, the man himself later confirmed that he fell ill, attributing his discomfort to a medical issue. It has also been reported that Robi is in India on a medical visa and is reportedly suffering from Tuberculosis.

"Robi has reportedly been suffering from Tuberculosis, a serious illness that mainly affects the lungs, and has come to India for his treatment," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Harish Chander, as quoted by PTI.

While a lot has been said and written on the matter, a CCTV footage has emerged on social media, quashing rumours of mistreatment from the Indian fans.

Further checks on his visa and travel activities within India are reportedly underway. Robi, who is easily distinguishable in his bright yellow tiger-like face paint appearance, was reportedly discharged from hospital.

"He was uttering vulgar abuses to Indian cricketers, especially Mohammad Siraj, in Chennai but no one knew the language (Bengali). People did nothing, but here in Kanpur people know the language," a Bangladeshi journalist was quoted by IANS on condition of anonymity.

According to a statement by a police official at the stadium, Robi had been feeling unwell before arriving and fainted due to the heat in the unauthorised C-upper stand, which had been closed by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) over structural concerns. "He is fine now, and we took him to Regency Hospital for a check-up. There was no assault, just a case of heat exhaustion," the police official said.

Prior to the Test in Kanpur, police confirmed that Roby had visited a local hospital a day before the match as he was suffering from dehydration and loose motions. This history of health concerns raised questions about his condition during the match, with some speculating whether his prior illness may have triggered his latest health problems.

The incident occurred during the first session of the match when Robi was seen waving a Bangladeshi flag from the unauthorised stand. This reportedly sparked a confrontation with some Indian spectators. Tensions escalated, and security personnel intervened to diffuse the situation. However, Robi later alleged that during the lunch break, a group of local fans physically assaulted him.'

India has some amazing fans. They watch cricket passionately and spend money to grow the game.

However it has a lot of fans that are the lowest of the low. They issue rape threats to wives and children of players and even posted religious abuse of their own players.

I think they are the worst fans in the world. Worse than Bangladeshis and Afghans for sure.

If he came to India ona medical visa to get cured from TB, which is a contagious disease, why was this idiot watching a cricket match being inside a stadium among thousands of fans? He could have started something of a real TB community spread, if not an epidemic. He should be first sent to jail for a few days to introspect before being deported and then banned for life from entering India.

Think that used to work well in the Dark Ages.

In modern countries, there are laws etc.

India doesn't seem to be a modern place.

This guy was on medical visa. He was to be admitted in Calcutta but still went on to Kanpur . Hes been deported to Bangdesh for faking the entire episode

People like to go to Modern and developed places for advanced treatmentd. Clearly we know which is most advanced place in SE Asia

Because quarantine norms for TB dont exist in any country in Asia. His TB could be of internal organs , which may not be contagious in first place.
