[VIDEO] Sarfaraz Ahmed - Support Thread

^this is bad stuff from you MRSN trying to find weakness in a player who you dont like. You ought to be better than this.
Btw in the same over Sarfraz did a very good stumping; I actually thought Afridi bowled the batsman; thats how quick Sarfraz was.

Had a mediocre outing imo.

Did a good stumping but in the same over missed one as well. Missed a few going down leg side as well.

He is a nothing player.

Mediocre keeper, awful batsmen and very weak mentally.

He should never play for Pakistan again.

For LOIs, go with Umar/Rizwan and for Tests, Adnan/Rizwan.

well that's what everyone does when Kami makes a mistake don't they?look I don't hate him for the sake of hate..it's his batting and keeping that I don't think deserve him to be there ahead of other few options..he's supposed to be our best wicket keeper as claimed by Moin/Rashid/Basit and so many others over here so he's supposed to be better than rest but when he keeps dropping dollies and misses chances like these he should be questioned..because don't forget he's mainly playing as a keeper only..he's not that good of a bat so it's not like he'll make up for those missed chances with his batting.

absolutely woeful behind the stumps yesterday, this guy is a lame duck.

^^correction..I don't hate him or dislike him but I want him to fullfil all the hype he got from Rashid/Moin etc which made him replace some other options.. he has to show with his performance that he's better than them.

Sohail Tanvir to Sibanda, 1 leg bye, this was sliding down the leg side and the keeper fumbled, they steal a run too

this guy is probably as bad as Kamran as a keeper, and Kamran is better than every other Full time Wicketkeeper, he should definitely be in the T20 squad, I'm not sure about ODIs though, I think Rizwan should play those

Wait I didnt watch the full Zim inning but I dont think Sarfraz dropped a catch or missed a stumpings, did he?

He's in the side solely as a keeper as his international batting record's awful, but seems like he's unable to do that properly either.

This is poor stuff from you man. When Kami drops catches you say every keeper drops catches, etc.

But its a sin for Sarfraz to even make a fumble

Poor poor stuff.

What were you saying in that Anwar Ali thread that your not biased :)). Fact is guys lile you and AZ supported Kamran even when was dropping truckload of catches but have a problem when Ahmed makes one fumble (not a drop catch or missed stumping). Now be honest woudld you have crtciszed Kamran for a dropped catch let alone a fumble? Be honest.

Its a refreshing change to see a specialist keeper rather than umar akmal jumping here and there..

forget Kami..let's just assume he's the worst keeper but Sarfraz is supposed to outdo him in keeping and batting not outdo number of chances he missed and bat like a real tailender..

at least Kami was able to make up for those chances with his batting..refer to this thread
http://www.pakpassion.net/ppforum/showthread.php?t=173286

on the other hand what has Sarfraz done with the bat to make up for c/i(one missed chance per innings).

the next to be Boucher in keeping is supposed to do better not keep fumbling and missing chances.

One missed chance per inning? Care to back this up with fact or are you just making it up? What chance did he miss today? Also i can list numerous matches where Sarfraz was spotless behind the stumps. So on drop per match is a great exaggeration and you know it.

well whenever I've seen him keep he has always messed up one or two chances but I've missed couple of games he played so may be you are right but the point is the numbers of chances he has missed after getting that much hype isn't good. I'd have been okay with him if he could bat like Kami and make up for those missed chances with the bat but the reality is he is no better than Chris Martin with the bat.

Same is the case with Kami. Playing international cricket for more than 10 years and he is still crap!! That's more terrible than a player who has a pressure to keep his place in the team.

When last time u watched pakistan playing?
1995?

Give this guy a break if we have can bear :kami for 10 years then give him some 6-7 consecutive games

I alsi know he is injured.
but why is he injured if he is a natural keeper like gilchrisr?
Fans like u who is backing him can answer better..

Yes he isn't a natural keeper and his body will take time to adjust to it but since he is young, he is physically capable to make this transition.

Besides, of all the so called specialist keepers in the country, only Adnan Akmal is better than him but since his batting isn't suited for limited overs, Umar is preferred.

Sarfraz Ahmed is a crap keeper too, I thought his amazing keeping compensated for his awful batting , LMAO

Nasir jamshed is also young..
why not make him wicket keeper..???

and by your logic Virat kohli should be keeper of India and Joe root of England...

Only people who have never entered cricket field can talk about these non-sense..

I'm going to get ridiculed for this, but oh well.
Kamran has been in pretty good form(keeping wise) recently.
I remember his take down the leg side off Junaid to Kohli, was great.
I know his batting has been rather poopy, but I'd rather have him than Sarfraz.
But, ideally Rizwan would be the best choice, or persisting with Umar, who hasn't done a bad job as of late.

I don't want to be rude but you have no clue at all.

This isn't the first time Umar has kept wickets; he has done for Pakistan before as well and both his brothers are keepers. He has a lot more exposure towards keeping than likes of Jamshed and Kohli.

Besides, Jamshed is overweight and has terrible fitness. He can't keep wickets.

I pity your comprehension skills which are worse than a 5th grader. being young doesn't mean you keep wickets but when you are young, your body is capable of adjusting.

Kohli at his age is better equipped to adjust to the rigors of keeping than someone like Sehwag who is 34.

Ok u mean umar akmal can be a good keeper becoz his brother were keeper..I am surprised why India didnt try Sachin brother..even he was half as good as sachin he would have 25000 international runs..
Grow up man..this is internatinal cricket..not gully cricket where family rules..
no wonder umar akmal is injured and i am sure he will say goodbye to cricket forever if he is forced to keep AGAIN.
yes again becoz he himself is not intrested in keeping.
such a joke can happen only in pakistan cricket with backing of fans like u..

Please attempt to make your sentences coherent.
Your analogy about Sachin was terrible.
Umar Akmal being injured doesn't have anything to do with his keeping.
Please, just stop posting such nonsense.

World know that umar akmal is injured due to load of wicket keeping..
But u can deny..lol

If the reports are correct, it was an epileptic seizure.
I doubt that keeping would induce a seizure, unless he hit his head, or something along those lines.
I would have no reason to deny that keeping was the reason for his injury, if it were true.

Ok on serious note..just say me if umar akmal would have suffered from seizure if he had no load of keeping and playing as a specialist keeper in WI tour n caribian league?

I'm not quite sure what you mean...
If you mean 'would he have suffered a seizure if he wasn't keeping' then I'd doubt it.
However, what do I know?
It's best to wait and see what the neurologist said(if it's publicised).

7 off 18 at depth against a team like Zim..good knock :48:

What is your point? Harris was at least specialist batsman.

I have noticed that a lot of cricketers from Karachi are VERY bad cricketers.

Shahzaib Hasan, Khalid Latif, Sami, Faisal Iqbal, Sarfaraz, Sohail Khan & Anwar Ali

What is the reason behind this? They simply cannot produce cricketers any more.

Anyways this guy seriously has NEVER impressed me. Poor keeper and an even worse batsman then Ajmal.

What a useless, selfish player sarfraz is...if he wasnt from Karachi he wouldnt have been selected again after seeing how silly he seems with bat in his hand....

What is your point? Harris was at least specialist batsman.

Haris was atleast showing urgency. He only faced 5 real dot balls and those he tried to go for singles. He was out off a brilliant catch. Middled it brilliantly.

It was a very selfish innings. I do hope he will NEVER play for PAK again. Adnan Akmal is a much better option

I hope karachi gets a better WK so that we can get a better WK when umer is injured because its only between lahore and karachi...

Shahzaib is better than Shehzad. You don't drop a player after 3 ODIs with an average of 34 at a SR of 89 and who in his last game, got 39 of 42 against Steyn and Morkel something Shehzad can't do in a million years.

What is your point? Harris was at least specialist batsman.

difference is Sarfraz has done that continuously throughout his career..not to forget the chances he misses behind the stumps.

Haris was atleast showing urgency. He only faced 5 real dot balls and those he tried to go for singles.

So batsman with S/R of 28.57 was showing urgency....
but the batsman with S/R of 38.88 was not......??

Harriss TRIED to go for singles.... but could not ---- being a specialist batsman!
Sarfraz DID go for singles... and got 7 of them.

He was out off a brilliant catch. Middled it brilliantly.

Sarfraz was run out brilliantly.... to a decision where benefit of doubt should have gone to the batsman. Even commentators were surprised that he was given out by 3rd umpire.

Which chances? More than Kamran???

Have you seen list of dropped catches by Kamran?

I've but so I've seen Sarfraz keep and I'm sure you too have. He's no better than him with keeping or batting.

So people here are trying to prove whether 7 off 18 is better than 2 off 7

Are you serious? Both are crap scores, get over it

We shall see in the upcoming series :)

+ I thought you don't rate Morkel and he is a 'cannon' and he lets off the pressure. Why bring him in now?

+ he only scored 11 runs off Steyn

and 8 runs off Morkel :)

+ Wahab scored 8 runs off 3 balls vs Steyn.. so your point is?

Morkel is inconsistent with his line and length but he is a very good ODI bowler. His main issue is his inability to concentrate for long periods of time and hence he struggles in Test cricket. In ODIs, in short spells, he is very effective.

19 out of 39 which is almost 50% of Steyn and Morkel. How is that a dig? :))

My point is that Shahzaib was dropped very prematurely who has shown far more in 3 games than this fake Kohli wannabe.

How do you drop a player with an average of 34 and strike rate touching 90? and after 3 games only?!

Before you bring Shehzad's 2 hundreds, his average and strike rate are both pathetic and he has 26 matches now.

Which isn't a small sample.

Shahzaib has played some reckless knocks in T20s but that has got nothing to do with ODIs. Players should be judged according to their performances in each format.

Similarly, it would be very unfair if Shehzad is dropped from T20s because of his ODI failures.

I agree with you he shouldn't have been dropped. I've wrote that on this forum many times in the past.

Harris is a newbie. Deserves a few matches to settle in before critiscm begins. But sarfaraz has been in and around the team for a year or more. He should be able to sneak 1 and 2's in the death overs on a slow track against Zimbabwe. Tbf they bowled well but you would expect an international keeper batsman to at least put bat on ball.

He is woeful in front of the stumps and awful behind the stumps. Lets give benefit of the doubt to all the ppers that have been bigging him up based on his domestic performances but he is beginning to look really disappointing.

shahzaib ? lol have you seen his technique ? it is worst than a tail ender. shahzad has a much better technique but he needs to work on his temperament

I couldn't give a damn about technique as long as the player is performing. If technique was the gold standard, Sehwag would have never been picked for India and they would have missed out on a decade of brilliance.

Some batsman have excellent hand eye coordination and fast hands, like Morgan. Something Shahzaib has as well.

Shehzad neither has technique nor does he have good hand eye coordination.

He premeditates a lot precisely because of not having a very good hand eye coordination.

His reflexes are very good though which is evident from his excellent fielding.

Shahzaib me prove to be a failure, but give him 26 games like Shehzad instead of 3 before deciding who is better or is that too hard?

Sarfaraz is a clean keeper..
gathers ball very cleanly. .

where r the haters who says he miss a catch per match?

There is no place for a specialist keeper in ODIs/T20s in this era.

Sarfraz adds nothing with the bat. He is worse than a number 11.

Sarfraz can only play in tests if at all....selectors cant find a wk who can bat a bit in whole country ?????

Sarfaraz was really out on 1st ball but the umpire gave him not out

sarfraz is a very good keeper but he doesnt have batting to meet team requirements as simple as that , he hasnt improved his batting also on wicketkeeping abilities alone he cant be in team , but this time he was chosen only for wicketkeeping cause management thought we have enough batsmen who will score at top but ur openers are pathetic
so i cant blame him - he still can b better test player if improve batting

he wasted so many balls at a very crucial period of the game..that just shows how limited he is with the bat.he can't even slog.

I swear I will never call for a replacement whenever an Akmal does not perform. Like it or not, they are the best we got.

Stop calling for talent when there is none!

:kami even being out of form won us a game against a minnow side in their backyard with an 83 from a gone position..that is thing we need in players and Sarfraz and other few we tried don't have that. ODIs will never be won if your team balance is not right and today we all seen that. What did Sarfraz's outstanding keeping skills did to stop Zimbabwe from win?

M Rizwan is the only one hasn't been given a chance yet. Maybe he's the saving grace?

But anyhow, Umar Akmal is the perfect choice.

Or maybe give some body new a chance at least.. They picked Rizwan and dropped him without even giving him a chance and then picked Sarfaraz with no justification to his selection.
