Pakistan always bottle in major events against India. But on the contrary, if we examine Pakistan's side, it is much better than India's T20 side. Probably they will exploit the weaknesses of Pakistan's side.

I am just plain disappointed with selectors and coaching staff clownery.They removed old guard for 2 years after that t20 wc and now forced to include .I wish we had hard crooked ones like Langer in the management and selection but not a brainless gits like ours
 
This game is not going to be that big of a deal as it will most likely be inconsequential unless Ireland manufactures and upset which is highly unlikely. Also there's no more "Streak" in this format to look forward to and the MCG game pretty much has spoilt us.

On an another note, there's a pretty realistic chance of a semifinal or even a final between the two sides due to the super8 format. That could be a whole another story..

I don't think india can get in to finals.too many washed up players and anchors.both teams may qualify to semis in second position

The way Pakistan is playing cricket these days, I can safely say that India will win this contest quite easily.
 
Looking at the situation of the current side of Pakistan, India is going to win this contest easily if things remains the same. This Pkiatsn side not going to win until they cha get their approach.

Let’s get real, Pakistan has no advantage. They don’t have the mental capacity to beat India.
Talking about India - they have much better T20 players than Rohit and Virat, not sure why do they keep playing them in t20s.

Commercial considerations
 
Pakistan has historically had the edge over India in North America. I believe we have a better head to head record in Sahara Cup.

We will extend this in NY
 
This time Pakistan have Aamir to take out Kohli and Shaheen to take out Rohit. A rested Naseem will be handful too.

If those two are taken early, there is a chance, a decent chance.

Pakistan should win toss and field, Kohli should not be allowed to chase. :vk1

Pakistan had Amir in the Asia Cup game after CT 2017 also. Nothing happened.

During an interview in a podcast, Fakhar Zaman talked about the mutual respect between India and Pakistan players:

"Often people ask me how Indian players are, how they treat us. Actually, they listen to everything in the media and they think we don't treat each other well. Until now, the amount of cricket I've played, I like to interact with Indian players. Even on the field, we don't sledge each other; the matches happen between us in a very healthy environment. The level of respect between players of India and Pakistan, at least I have not seen it with other teams."

"For instance, Virat Kohli, he never calls any Pakistani player 'Yaar'; he always calls the player by his name. The last time we met in Sri Lanka, I was checking my bat and he came himself and said, "How are you, Fakhar?" It's so nice to get so much respect from such a big star. How? You were told these 2 were better then their piers this series? 5th t20 was one exception though, but only for Amir, not for imad.

Imad was the best allrounder this series.

Amir is the only one who use his brain while bowling other than just throwing the ball towards the batsman, what other options u have better than amir if u dont want to go with him?

Amir in 2024 is garbage. I have seen enough. Indian openers should be licking their lips at the sight of facing a washed up bowler who is well past his best years.

Imad is not going to uproot any trees either. He has always been a joke vs India. 0 wickets.

Aamir was poor in the 4th t20 as well. Imad bowled poorly in the 4th T20 as well.

Regardless, if you have been following my comments, I advocated Ali from psl > Amir selection.

As for imad, I advocate imad as pur batting allrounder at no 5 > Shadab and I want chacha booted out of the team.

Umar lacks hitting ability. He cannot hit sixes like shadab. Shadab is a superior batsman.

Babar has an average and a SR vs India.

Imad doesn’t even have that. You have to take a wicket before you have an average and a strike rate.

I think your biggest flex in life should be that you have as many wickets vs India in international cricket as Imad Wasim.

KL, Kohli, Pandya and Jadeja have no business being in Indian t20 team now. Much better options if selectors were to be ruthless and objective in their selection.
 
Just 1 month and 9 days remaining in this epic battle. Can't wait to see Amir, Shaheen, and Naseem trio operating. Not gonna say that Pakistan is going to win as far as their batting is concerned but it will be alone hell of game TBH. Let's go.

Pakistan don't stand a chance unless Gill, kohli and these old guns are really as put of form that people are claiming them to be. Which I doubt.

Gill won't be selected lol. India has plethora of awesome openers other than Rohit. Because of that somebody has to miss out. So Ruturaj despite scoring 123 in 57 balls against Australia only late last year won't be picked. Handsdown the best opener of the current IPL season as well. Probably the most complete opener who can deal with both high pace and high quality spin. Jaiswal is a pedigree opener who will be preferred despite inconsistency as he is a leftie also ultra aggressive. Gill despite amazing last season is feeling the pressure as captain. Still made 330 at an average of 40 and strike rate 140. Abhishek has strike rate of 218 highest by any batsman even better than Head. With so many options they will likely to go with Jaiswal. Then there is KL Rahul if needed.

Definitely, should take inspiration from the 152 game and the fact this format is hit and giggle cricket. No need to panic, just play calmly with a clear head. Looks like we're not going to have boneheads Rauf and Nawaz to crumble against Kohli.

Think a year back before Gill's dengue, you would have laughed at me for suggesting Gill gets dropped for Jaiswal.

You'd have advocated for Jaiswal + Gill over rohit.

But given how poor Gill was compared to rohit in 2023, You probs now want rohit to utilise the first 6 overs along with jaiswal.

Gill is a still an anchor. He has modelled his game for ODI's and that only format I would give him more chances in.

I love Hitman but his time is up in t20s. I want Abhishek to partner Jaiswal.

Bro if Gill is an anchor(Pre dengue) then rizwan is a snail.

As for hitman, we'll see, people have been saying his time is up since 2022 and while he's regressed he was the best user of the PP in 2023.

So we shall see.
 
Gill has finally ironed out his weakness in Tests at the cost of aggression. He is being selective ever since his Test match game improved. I would rather have him flourish in Tests. Once these oldies leave he will come back. It is not the end for him. Just a pause becaues India has far too many openerss. In current form Ruturaj is better than Jaiswal, Rohit, Gill everybody. Only in december Ruturaj made 123 in 57 balls against Australia. Abhishek is also an exciting prospect with an addition skill of bowling.
 
Besides these usual guys we have Sai Sudarshan, Prabhsimran, Kishan as openers. Insane amount of openers for India. A reason why Gill found himself out. Not because he cannot do well.
 
India might still edge out Pakistan on June the 9th but really, India's team's election was based on more reputation than real performance. The same is the case with Team Pakistan. This will be a battle of reputations.
 
Addition of mohammed amir, imad wasim and the leg spinner abrar may boost pakistans bowling. Having said that 50-50 contest if PAK bats first and scores 180+

Yep. Mohammad Amir always has an upper hand against India. Shaheen, amir and naseem is a great bowling attack if you think about it.

India is always a good chasing side..so 180+ wont be a good total to defend in my opinion team battind would have an advantage.
 
This is a poor Indian side. Having said that only Pakistan winning this is by triggering a top order collapse. This match is not a do or die match for both teams. Both advance anyway assuming there is no shock from USA or Canada :)

They have won just 1 out of 7 world T20 encounters. That year insane amount of dew at Abu dhabi favorited all the teams batting second.

Since the inception of T20, Pakistan have been beasts.
The format is tailor made of a team like Pakistan and they always show up in big tournaments.

With Amir coming back and the Indian core being older, the result is inevitable

But there is a catch. The ICC recently announced that hospitality tickets, inclusive of food and beverages, will be made available for all eight group games in New York, including India-Pakistan.

Tickets cost between $175-$400, but are now reselling at exorbitant prices. Resale tickets on StubHub are currently starting at over $1700.
