Pakistan skipper Babar Azam snapped at fans, who tried to mob him on the streets of Cardiff. A group of people got a glimpse of their favourite cricketer and started going towards him in the hope of selfies and greetings. But Babar became uncomfortable and he lashed out, saying, “2 minute doge yaar, do minute doge? (Can you give 2 minutes).”

The security personnel with Babar asked the fans to give some space to the cricketer, who was visibly not happy with the occurring. Later Babar addressed the fans, saying, “Mere upar nahi chadho, Baat kar raha hu, video banae jaa rahe ho (Don’t disturb me, I am speaking to someone and you are making a video.” He then walked away angrily.

Babar however was seen later taking selfies with the fans.

Junglee fans for a reason.. you want to vent your frustration that’s the beauty of this forum. Like I’m going to rip into fatty azam during the game

I don't see anyone harassing him, just a fan moment trying to get closer to see what management has seen in him to make him a captain again. :ROFLMAO:

i think he was discussing some private/family plans and hence got upset at people recording, but bit of an overreaction.

I don't mind this, it's irritating being harrased by fans. He had every right to demand not being filmed and tell others to not interrupt him.

Babar is alot of things but he's in the right here.

He can simply aviod his fans by wearing mask before going out if he is that much sensetive.

I mean he could have been nicer. Theirs no excuse for being mean, but he does have a point. He shouldn't have to wear a mask and compromise cause of his fame.

Although again theirs no excuse, Umar gul in centaurs shopping center was politely taking photos and if way too many people came forward he smiled and laughed and said aik second bhai, mein aa raha hoon.

Their was no need to get aggressive if you were going to take pictures anyway.

Both sides are wrong though, fans need to learn that celebrities are humans who value space and don't wish to be filmed without permission and babar needs to learn to conduct himself better

Yeah thats true... fans sometimes go overboard and end up annoying others.

Babar just went overboard what else was he expecting.

I was there, and he proper snapped at the fans. The fans had waited hours outside the hotel and Babar just blanked them as soon as he walked out of the hotel. I have the 3.5 min video - and it is sad to see.

Of all the players, Naseem Shah was the most humble. Not only did he take time out to greet the fans - any time he walked out - he also made a father of a disabled person cry with joy because he was after an autograph but security said no - Naseem Shah had other plans!

Wish I could share the video, but Naseem Shah is head and shoulders above the rest.

And yes, Shaheen Afridi is numeral uno with an attitude problem.

Saw a video where he was inside the hotel, ran into the lift when kids approached him for an autograph🤦🏻‍♂️

Naseem was there too, signed for everyone and he signed on behalf of Babar.

Babar doesn’t realise how much this will affect those young kids who look up to our team and especially him.

I booked the hotel in Feb and had no idea the Pakistan team would be in the same hotel.

Honestly, it was shocking to see how the team treated its fans.

I have at least 10 videos where the players go out to pick up a deliveroo order, ignore the fans, then head back to their rooms.

Exception being Naseem Shah, who calmed the fans, picked up his order, signed a few autographs, and said he will be back out in a few hours.

It is no wonder Gary Kirsten was sitting on his Jack Jones in the Graze.

The Pak cricket team has become a bunch of tourists. They are unfit/overweight and lack real quality, except a couple of players. Led by Captain fantastic it seems like a group of friends enjoying a free holiday. They eat the most unhealthy food and are just chilling/socialising with local authorities who invite them. Or you see them shopping around malls.

Its seriously embarrassing to see how they carry themselves. Serious lack of role models in Pakistan have made them paper/fake superstars which they think they really are. I mean what has Babar actually ever won for Pak (major trophy ICC or series vs SENA/India) to act like some super star?

Nothing wrong with what Babar did, he's entitled to his privacy just like anyone else

Nailed it.

There is no concept of team breakfast/dinner, every player did their own thing.

It was also clear that Imad is in a separate clique to Babar, not once did I see them together, and I was at the hotel for 3 days!

Sad considering previous Pakistan cricketers that were so much bigger had much better attitude towards fans than these current celebs.

I wonder if they confused social media fans to actual fans that want an autograph/photograph.

My Pakistani friends are eagerly waiting for Pakistani team in Dallas, hopefully they are much more friendly.

He is the face of Pakistani cricket, my friends are taking day off to watch their game in Dallas against US, they will be going with young kids , stadium is slightly far and will stay after the game to get a glimpse of their star, least he can do is acknowledge them and give memories for young boys and girls.

Zimbabar being exposed, the Pakistan government needs to ban FB, TikTok and IG to kill off the Fan accounts that hype these lot to the moon.

What should be done with the clown fans who claimed that Imad is mentally strong and has great game awareness? 🤡

Imad fans weren’t the ones doing bhangra before Pakistan’s innings😂

Imran Khan 1

Younis Khan 1

Sarfaraz Ahmed 1

Babar Azam 0

To be fair the ODI World Cup is much more prestigious than the CT and T20 World Cup trophy.

Imad is a joke of a player

You are a prime example of what is wrong within Pak cricket. It is not about individuals, its about the team and Pak cricket.

Both Imad and Babar should just leave Pak cricket in order to progress.

As per reports, Pakistan's revamped selection committee is set to shake up the team for the upcoming white-ball tour of Zimbabwe, with Babar Azam likely to be rested.

If reports are true, then hopefully fans won't label him a 'minnow basher' again.

Hopefully some time away from the limelight might do him some good. A refreshed Babar with a renewed focus without the politics would be welcome back in the Pakistan team. Is it realistic though?

Our fans turn fast.

From minnow basher he will deemed as not even good enough to play against Zimbabwe.

Players fall as quickly as they rise in the eyes of fans in Pakistan.

Not everyone can support filth 24/7 like you can.

Your opinion, but I'm consistent in my support for Pakistan.

My opinion is you are a wannbe aussie cringelord.
Remind me where you live again?

Seriously what is it with you overseas Pakistani's? If you support Pakistan so much then why did you even leave your home country to work for another?

This is why i respect certain overseas Pakistani's like shahid Khan or kumail Nananji, Not only did they strike big but they made it clear they are now permanently a part of the country they have chosen to live in with no regards or ties to their previous country.

It's completely hypocritical to claim to wanna go and work abroad for better opportunities as you believe those said opportunities do not exist back home but pretend to support said country.

Imo your the hypocrite for living and working in another country and contributing to said economy but pretending your support lies in a country that you don't even bother paying taxes towards.

G'day mate.

See you on Ramsey street.

G'day mate.

See you on Ramsey street.
I'm just curious that's all.

For me patriotism goes out the window when you go overseas.

You can whine about your origins all you want but it doesn't matter.

Pakistani people are of Indian heritage in the same way Indian people 5000 years ago are a mix of many cultures such as African, North American etc heritage

If you wanna get into the origin category, then we are going 5000 to 10,000 years back mate.

At the end of the day, if you are working In another country, are contributing to its economy, left the country for said better opportunity and went so far as to get a passport for that said country, Then you're a total hypocrite for saying you still support your home country that you decided to leave or your parents or family members took you to leave.

If you had such an issue, then grind and come back to pakistan and work fully.

Until you do that, Do not tell me who's a wannabe or nor, Cause I'm supporting the country I have a passport in while you're supporting a country you defected from.

In a viral video, the man told Babar to go return to Lahore, his hometown, as he doesn't deserve to be part of Pakistan's T20I side

Pakistani fans at SCG to Babar Azam:

"Have some shame, you have no place in T20s, go back to Pakistan."

Respect to these guys for speaking up

But why is no one speaking up against Rizwan? Why isn’t he being lynched in public?

This was done in the 1st innings at least let the guy bat then have a go at him.

That's ridiculous! You can't make fun of your players like that... criticize them it's your right but humiliating them like this is not acceptable.
With all due respect, it goes both ways.

He's a sportsman who is representing his country and is expected to be the face of it. Pakistan government as well as his fans are paying him directly or indirectly millions of dollars just to watch this guy play for his country.

And what is bobby doing with all that money?

If Babar wanted a safe stress free fame career then maybe he should try his hand at being a tik tok influencer or youtuber, I'm sure Streaming or giving away lambourgini's would do wonders.

He's human and no one is asking him to do the impossible, but having such crap form, such crap fitness and losing games with his buddy is just not right.

His fans have every right to tell him to leave the t20 circuit if he isn't planning to honor his commitment.

As fans all we ask is that he tries his best to keep his performance up.

Fakhar zaman doesn't get critised because even though he's an inconsistent mess, anytime he performs you can see the fire in his eyes and the hunger to achieve runs.

Babar doesn't do that

Fans from India and Pakistan actually believe the cricketers do their country a favour by playing the game. They forget the game rewards them with more monetary rewards they would have made in any other career. Playing for the national team is not a right, you have to earn it.

Still remember the hungama fans made in West Bengal when Sourav Ganguly was sacked from the team in 2005 after underperforming for 3 long years. His performance with the bat became so pathetic that it could be compared with a bowling allrounder's performance with the bat, that too an extremely mediocre one.

'Sourav is the nucleus of the team. The rest of the team only comes after him'. That's the type of garbage fans came up with back then.

Thankfully he came back soon and proved his caliber to everyone. Else it would have been a miserable end to such a good career. The man had determination like no one else.

Pakistanis can be dual citizens of more than one country and can call both of them their home IMO. The case is different for some countries like India probably, they are not allowed to hold dual citizenships I think. They have to surrender passport of India before taking up American/Canadian/US.

Zimbu fans crying online demanding Naqvi to take action against these guys who told Babar he isn’t a T20 player….

What’s Naqvi going to do? Where were these babar fans when Imad was getting abused by them in Rawalpindi? Why didn’t they demand for action to be taken then?

He knows, he is an Indian supporter.

It is my dream to one day find Babar, Rizwan, Misbah and Ramiz Raja at Hyde Park speakers corner…

Maybe they will then end up going to find a corner for themselves running away from me…

And that corner could become “flying chittars towards us” corner

Now it made sense.babar trying to hit six against the wind in the same direction where fans abused him and got caught there. There after Fans were shouting babar zimababar as a continuation.

If a player is playing poorly then they deserve every right to be critised and heck even insulted because at the end of the day you're insulting your country with such nonsense.

And I'm not referring to Bobby's form. Fakhar is more inconsistent.

Babar and rizwan play t20 and odi in a very very selfish manner very similar to Misbah ul Haq. Their stat sheets look good however anyone who has watched these 2 bat would know that all they do is play very safe risk free cricket without a care in the world for the scoreboard or RR or how much extra workload their causing to the batters yet to come.

That NZ 101 that Babar fans praise and do bhrangra over, Had haris sohail not played a gem of an aggressive innings, Babar would have been memed nonstop for losing the game and batting in a very selfish manner.

Against aus in 2017 he got away with it because he was young, only one year into his cricketing career and the opposition was Australia which pakistani's find an excuse against.

Against NZ he's lucky Haris sohail saved his bum and Babar fans ended up riding that innings till the end of time.

Sad to see Pakistanis doing this to their national hero. An iconic cricketer who has won countless matches for Pakistanis across the world in the biggest tournaments and bilateral series. You don’t mock your heroes like that when they’re going through a rough patch.

We don’t worship our players…. Next

Babar brought this upon himself. He refused to take responsibility for his failures and especially after the debacle at the T20 world cup. Instead of apologising to the nation for a poor campaign, he uploaded cheesy PR videos of himself training and appeared in ads. There was not a hint of remorse expressed by him. He doesn’t deserve the respect of Pakistani fans. It goes two ways

I don’t understand why he doesn’t lose his cool after these many failures.

I don't know why people get angry at players and not the people who select them...

I've said this before and will say it again, a professional sportsman, no matter which game they play and how good or bad they are, they are never going to turn down the opportunity to represent their country *(only in exceptional circumstances)...
