I'd rather have a specialist over him.

Too hit and miss imo. He's a wicket-taker but not someone who will ever have the batters sweating with searing pace, bounce and swing.

He bowled against the rampaging Sharma / Rahul on a belter, within the power play and at the death. And even then he was the same as Bhuvi/ Pandya/ Chahal who were bowling against Pakistan batters LOL.

Bowling slower balls doesn't equal bowling like Indian "trundlers". Naseem can still bowl 145kph+ whenever he wants, guys like Buvi don't have that option.

Agreed that Naseem ain’t a world beater and hyped more than he should be on PP.
But anyone in their early 20s with ability to swing both ways at high pace cannot be “awful”. The perf has been patchy but not bad. Even Chahal and Bhuvi went as much runs despite 10x more experience and hype.
T20s everyone has a bad day and Shaheen went for cleaners multiple times as well.

The irony is, he is annoyed about people hyping a teenage fast bowler who has taken a test hattrick, bowls 145+ and is passionate - as someone who has potential/ COULD be brilliant..

But then hyped Jofra ‘bouncer’ Archer as the best in the world ahead of Cummins/ starc/ Rabada / bumrah after 2 good months despite the 2 years of trash that followed it. We saw how that turned out and where he is with his ‘effortless’ action.
