Shocking video has emerged of a group of officers seeming to kick two detained men in Manchester Airport.

The footage has been widely shared on social media, and shows two officers seemingly assaulting a detained boy after tasering him.

The video was captioned: ‘Can’t see how you can justify kicking someone in the face and head when they are laying on floor being tasered and he seemed compliant.’

At one point in the video, the man in blue appeared to be lying down and being compliant when the officer forced him down by putting his knee into his back.’

Those around the scene were heard shouting.

In the short 40 second clip, a woman wearing a headscarf can be seen standing over the young boy.

The police officer holding a taser first brutally kicks the young boy in the head before he stamps down on the ground and on the top of his head.

He then uses his knee to push down on the boy on the floor, and looks to try and arrest him on the spot.

A female police officer is then seen in the footage looking visibly shocked at the actions of her colleague and tells people to stand back.

Greater Manchester Police said in a statement: ‘Officers were called to reports of an altercation between members of the public in Terminal 2 at Manchester Airport.

‘While attempting to arrest one of the suspects of the earlier altercation, three officers were subject to a violent assault, where they were punched to the ground.

‘A female officer suffered a broken nose and all three were taken to hospital for treatment. As the attending officers were firearms officers, there was a clear risk during this assault of their firearms being taken away from them.

‘Four men were arrested at the scene for affray and assault on emergency service workers. We acknowledge the concerns of the conduct within the video, and our Professional Standards Directorate are assessing this.’

The shocking footage comes just days after a scathing report investigating Greater Manchester Police found that several women had been unlawfully arrested and strip searched.

The review, commissioned by city mayor Andy Burnham, saw Dame Vera Baird interview 15 women and men who had complained about the way they had been treated by the force.

I imagine they'll try and spin some sort of prequel story which hasn't been filmed to justify the violence of the police officer. Or maybe there is some video which hasn't been released yet showing the police being attacked as described above.

It shouldn't matter if there is a previous video or now. He was on the ground. That kick to the face and stamp sent shivers down me.

Police shouldn't behave like that when a suspect is detained.

I'll bet we will find the officers in question body cam footage didn't work....

The police officer will have to be sacked I think, no amount of spin can justify kicking a youth in the head when he is on the ground and restrained. Even Tommy Robinson would struggle to put together a convincing argument.

Police officer involved here need to be sacked. Appeared to be paranoid & psychos.

If you watch the video to the end, the police officer goes over to the other lad who is sat with his hands on his head and then starts assaulting him as well.

I think the only way to spin this now is to make this a story these lads were Al Qaeda operatives.

Has it made the national news yet? I would imagine there's a bit of scurrying around wondering how this story can be presented without making the police look bad.

The officer deserves a boot from his job. Charges need to be pressed and he should go to jail.

There can be a story of something happening before that incident. But when the kid is lying on the floor with his hands on his back, a simple arrest would have sufficed.

Can't wait for drones to take over the law enforcement over these mentally fragile humans.

This is an inhumane act by the policeman... must be sacked from the job immediately otherwise he will become a threat to other passengers too.

The cop or ***let needs to be taught a lesson , hopefully he will behind bars . Disgusting lowlifes

Police officer kicks and stamps on man's head at Manchester Airport

Greater Manchester Police said the video is being "assessed" by professional standards.

A police officer armed with a Taser kicked and stamped on a man's head as he was lying face down on the ground at Manchester Airport

The incident was filmed and has been widely circulated on social media.

A second man was also struck by the officer.

The video is being "assessed" by professional standards, Greater Manchester Police has said.

Eyewitness Amar told Sky News that he had heard shouting as he was turning the corner in the area. He heard: "you're under arrest, you're wanted."

He says he then saw one man being "pinned against the wall", before "pushing and shoving."

Amar says he believes it was then that the man's brother came "running over" before being pushed to the floor and "kicked" by police.

Still of GMP arrest at Manchester Airport

Greater Manchester Police said firearms officers had been responding to reports of an altercation between members of the public.

The force added a female officer involved suffered a broken nose and that all three responding officers were taken to hospital.

The force said "there was a clear risk during this assault of their firearms being taken from them," and said they "acknowledge the concerns of the conduct within the video".

Four men were arrested for affray and assault on emergency service workers, police said.

Manchester Airport said: "We are aware of an incident involving Greater Manchester Police officers that took place yesterday and, as a result, the force is investigating the matter.

"We will support the investigation in any way possible."

a BLM (BROWN LIVES MATTER) moment!

They don't. There's already efforts underway to justify the police officer's actions, the spin being that these guys broke a policewoman's nose, and fear of terrorism being thrown in for good measure. Hence the police being armed.

I don’t understand the officers action.

-He boots and stamps the guy on the floor…then just gives him some verbals and leaves him unattended and moved to the guy sitting on the chair.

Surely if he had a reason to boot the guy, he would simply detain him first instead of just leaving him there unattended? The guy can just get back up and assault him if he really was so dangerous and needed to be booted?

The officer clearly lost the plot here!

What I’m reading is that the police began this scuffle by pushing and shoving these boy’s mum in some queue…and it just escalated from there.

The blacks have suffered this sort of treatment for years in the US. It is terrible and excessive use of force.

All the police present should be suspended, tried and jailed.

The police standing around are complicit through their inaction...if they can't protect people from one of their own then what chance do they have of protecting people from real criminals?

I'm sure the boys are not innocent but the excessive use of force demands severe punishment. Prison time seems fair. Maybe 6 months to a year.

Yes there must have been something but the video in post 21 is eye opening.

The other Police Officers are trying to prevent the people around from filming the incident hence trying to cover it up and are complicit in the abuse. All of them should be dismissed and sent to jail. No doubt there is also an element of racism in this incident. Only one or two guys must be doing the beating but there is a sort of agreement among the entire team to treat the guys like that.

Just not one officer should be dismissed, where he can be out after few months. This should attract a life ruining sentence, which they should regret for rest of their lives. Imagine the potential that these Cops have to harass the ordinary people, if you don't make an example of them it will continue to happen and this is just tip of the iceberg where we are lucky to have short video footage of what happened. A lot more must be happening behind the doors.

Even the other Guy was just sitting away with his hands up, yet the Cop goes to him and beats him also. The guy is ready to surrender and get cuffed yet the Cops beat him .

You can hear one of the Airport staff saying ‘the Airport police can do whatever they want’.

It means these officers regularly petrol the Airport and their behaviour is well known to the staff. Stuff like this probably occurs regularly and this time they have been caught.

Do police officers in the UK wear body cams? That’s footage that should be released to the public as well. Hopefully the coppers get jail time, they’re as good as dead the minute they step foot inside a jail.

Easy lad it's the UK not Brazil.

Disturbing video but I'm waiting for the full facts.

The behavior exhibited was unbecoming of a professional law enforcement officer, and it appeared more like an outburst of frustration rather than a measured response. Noting the circumstances, it's crucial to grasp what led to the confrontation between these lot, and why the police became involved inside an airport? That said it doesn't look like we're dealing with the smartest or most cultured individuals here, either side of this conflict.

Protest held after Manchester airport kicking video

A crowd of people has protested outside a police station in Greater Manchester, amid anger over a policeman filmed kicking a man in the head at the city's airport.

Chanting "shame on you", the protesters in Rochdale accused the police of institutional racism, footage from the protest online appears to show.

Greater Manchester Police said it understood people's "immense feeling of concern" and respected the right to protest - and that the demonstration had finished "safely without incident".

The force has referred itself for investigation and removed one officer from operational duties following the kicking video.

The video, filmed at Manchester Airport on Tuesday evening, shows a male police officer holding a Taser over a man, who is lying face down on the floor.

The officer then appears to stamp on and kick the man in the head, while other officers shout at onlookers to stay back.

The video was widely shared on social media and has been described as "truly shocking" by the police force itself.

At the protest on Wednesday evening, a crowd of what appeared to be several hundred people gathered outside a police station in Rochdale.

The Manchester Evening News reported that one of the protesters had told the crowd they were "no longer going to settle" for "police brutality".

GMP said its officers had been called to Terminal 2 of the airport at 20:25 BST on Tuesday following reports of a fight.

It said while trying to arrest a suspect, three of its officers were violently attacked and punched to the ground. One officer suffered a broken nose and all three needed hospital treatment.

"As the attending officers were firearms officers, there was a clear risk during this assault of their firearms being taken from them," a spokesman for the force said.

Four men were arrested at the scene for affray and assault on emergency service workers.

GMP earlier said it had voluntarily referred itself to the Independent Office of Police Conduct - the watchdog that oversees police conduct and investigates complaints.

The IOPC said it would assess GMP's referral "and decide what further action is required".

'Difficult to watch'

Amar Minhas from Leeds told the BBC he was coming through arrivals when he saw the scene unfold.

He said police officers had approached one of the men, in his early 20s, and told him he was a wanted man, before “they pinned him up against a wall”.

Another man then “started on the police” and a fight ensued, he said.

The man who was being pinned against the wall started “throwing punches, he was Tasered, and fell to the floor”, Mr Minhas said.

“That’s when the policeman kicked him."

The Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, described the video as "disturbing" and said he recognised "the widespread and deep concern" it had caused.

He said he had raised his concerns with GMP's deputy chief constable.

Andy George, president of the National Black Police Association, described the video as "difficult to watch".

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, he wrote: "Whilst policing is a really difficult job, we are trained to a higher standard and held to a higher standard."

Home Office minister Dame Diana Johnson also posted on X: “I am aware of disturbing footage from an incident at Manchester Airport this afternoon and understand the public concern it has prompted.

“I have asked for a full update from Greater Manchester Police.”

In a statement after the video went viral, Assistant Chief Constable Wasim Chaudhry said: “We know that a film of an incident at Manchester Airport that is circulating widely shows an event that is truly shocking, and that people are rightly extremely concerned about.

"The use of such force in an arrest is an unusual occurrence and one that we understand creates alarm."

Commenting on the protest in Rochdale, and noting the referral already made to the IOPC, ACC Chaudhry said: "We understand the immense feeling of concern and worry that people feel about our response and fully respect their right to demonstrate their views peacefully."

He added: “We have spent the evening listening to community feedback and will continue to engage with communities and elected members to maintain strong partnership links and understand local views."

They need to act fast or this will spiral out if control.

Police officer suspended after footage shows suspect being stamped on the head at Manchester Airport

A police officer has been suspended after footage shared on social media showed a suspect being kicked in the head and stamped on at Manchester Airport.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said earlier it understands the "immense feeling of concern and worry that people feel" after the footage emerged.

An estimated 200 demonstrators gathered outside Rochdale Police Station on Wednesday night with some shouting "GMP shame on you!".

The video, said to have been filmed at Terminal 2 of the airport on Tuesday evening, shows an officer with a Taser in his hand appearing to kick and then stamp on the head of a man who is lying face down on the floor, with a woman kneeling beside him.

A second man was also struck by the officer.

GMP said three officers were attacked after attending to a report of an assault at the airport. One female officer suffered a broken nose, while the other officers were forced to the ground and suffered injuries that required hospital treatment.

The force also acknowledged concerns about "conduct within the video" but said officers had arrived at the scene with guns and there was a "clear risk" of "their firearms being taken from them" during the altercation.

GMP added that four men were arrested at the scene for affray and assault on emergency service workers.

In a statement after an officer was suspended in relation to the footage this morning, GMP said: "Following a thorough review of further information that has become available in relation to an incident at Manchester Airport on Tuesday evening, Greater Manchester Police has suspended a police officer from all duties.

"A referral has now been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct for a full independent investigation.

"We understand the deep concerns that have been widely raised with us, and will continue to meet and discuss these feelings with Greater Manchester residents and elected representatives, whilst this independent investigation takes place."

Paul Waugh, the Labour and Co-Operative MP for Rochdale, has said the man who was stamped on and arrested in the "shocking and disturbing" video is from the town.

He added that he spoke to the man's family last night and is planning to meet them in person today.

Mr Waugh posted on X this morning: "The video footage of a Greater Manchester police officer kicking and stamping on a man in Manchester Airport is truly shocking and disturbing.

"Like many who have seen this clip, I am extremely concerned... I have expressed my concerns directly to the Assistant Chief Constable this evening and have been in touch with Kate Green, Deputy Mayor for policing of Greater Manchester.

"It's right that the police officer concerned has been removed from duties and that this incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct. I expect a thorough and swift investigation."

Akhmed Yakoob, a lawyer for two men who were arrested in relation to the violence at Manchester Airport, said this morning they have been released from Cheadle police station in Stockport.

Mr Yakoob continued: "They then had to make their own way to the hospital but in reality because they had head injuries, it was the police duty to take them to a hospital.

"But nevertheless they made their own way and now I've documented their injuries and we are headed to Rochdale Police station to make a formal complaint of assault and wounding against the police officers."

This is pure ‘badmaashi’ from police. Could never have happend here in Norway. You can’t kick a guy in face lying down like that. Seems like some mental sick officers just after some revenge. My blood started boiling.

Standing down is not enough. The police officer should be charged with assault.

That kick to the head was an unprovoked assault.

That kick to the head was unnecessary
But the guy apparently had broken the nose of a women officer there.

Ideal process would be to charge both the officer and the guy with assault

I am shocked to see that most of the people in the comments section at X are trying to justify the abuse. Reason is obvious,

Because it happened to "them", "their lot", "they" deserve it.

I've seen a few guests (including an MP) on TalkTV justifying the police violence on account that this is how police should have dealt with the Leeds riots.

Aside from the fact that these people had nothing to do with the riots, the constant linking with the riots even on here is getting embarrassing.

Some might say TalkTV and GBNews are right wing nonsense, but they obviously represent a significant portion of the population if they feel confident enough to spout such hysteria.

There's deep institutional racism in the UK against blacks and asians .

And this kier starmers labour is one of the worst when it comes to being anti muslim.
They purged many muslim candidates who supported palestinian cause .

There's no video evidence or cctv of any police officer being smashed up by these brothers

The only clear evidence is the brutality these guys and their mother suffered at the hands of the police.

There's no way that kick can be justified it could have caused brain damage or serious injury since those police boots have metal caps.

So you have justified the police officer playing football with someone's head on the basis of a yet to be confirmed story?

The correct answer from someone who understands the responsibility of policing would be that it is inexcusable from anyone wearing a uniform. No BUTS about it.

What was the reason for such en escalation. Did the traveler misbehave or not comply with the police perosnnel.

This is still a brutal take down. Doesn’t matter how wrong that passenger was, police should have adhered to the SOP .

Whatever the guy did, police officer shouldn't have kicked like that. The guy was restrained. He was handcuffed. He was not a threat.

Police especially from west and even more so in this day and age with all the scrutiny don’t go this far especially even more so with colored people who look foreign, wonder what triggered this. If they did it without a lot of provocation, totally unacceptable. However need to know the full story.

We are only here because the British need us if they didn't need us they would have killed us all off.

Reason Britain doesn't produce anything it doesn't manufacture much and industry is finished it started in the 80s.

World trade is globalised so you can't become a racist pariah state like n korea or afghanistan and put the shutters up. You need free movement of people's skills goods etc.

Britain doesn't have an empire where it enslaved looted and killed millions.
It will never have that empire back because their recent imperial attempts in Iraq and Afghanistan ended in spectacular disaster.

If every immigrant was kicked out tomorrow many uk sectors would simply collapse they make money of immigrants .

Britain wouldn't go back to some utopia in the 50s and 60s.
It would go back to poverty of the victorians or worse the middle ages.
There is already a massive decline even today in living standards and people in poverty in uk.

Another reason is Britain at family social family level is destroyed even animals have families and social heiracrchys. These people have degenerated beyond animals they don't have concept of marriage, families , moral values a decreasing population one that is aging people not even getting married and having proper family structures and producing children.

Simply they would collapse.

Their rock in the atalantic doesn't have much in terms of natural resources so they would probably have to go back to pillaging other countries again.

They've tried to link leeds riots to Muslims

When the rioters were christian roma gypsies from the eastern Europe who look nothing like pakistanis and have nothing in common culture wise with people from subcontinent.

I don't know why these people continously be liked with pakistanis when they look like people from eastern Europe, albania turkey iran and Afghanistan etc they look nothing like punjabi Muslims and Sikhs.

But the rioting was justified because they children were kidnapped by the child trafficking and abuse ring which are the social services

Scandinavia is the last civilised lands left in Europe . Uk , France etc are now dumps, crime out of control & every institution is run poorly.

A lot of cops on the uk were bullied at school .You’ll see some of these jackd with steroids , bullying ordinary citizens. Airport cops can be even worse esp as most carry firearms. I was asked to stop in Covid times for not wearing a mask in the airport. I told him I don’t wear one as they don’t work & I’m exempt . The clown laughed when I told him I dont need to prove this & for him to go back to training . I walked off .

Always film every interaction with cops .

O Lala your understanding is weird here, even if this was a fight between two private persons, kicking like that would have been wrong. A police officer should put aside any verbal attacks received and act in accordance with his professional authority. Yeh koi do gangsters ki ladhai tou nahi hai.

Apparently two of the men assaulted by cops are themselves serving cops in the same force .

The blacks have suffered this sort of treatment for years in the US. It is terrible and excessive use of force.
Let's not paint cops in bad light. Many cops have died at the hands of blacks. They don't ever make the News. There is a severe mistrust between blacks and Cops in US.

For a population of 13%, Blacks represent extremely high numbers in arrests. Cops tend to be more severe on them. The issue goes deep.

Crime committing group and trigger happy Cops.

I sometimes wonder what Britain would look like today if we turned the clock back to a time before it became a multicultural society. I'm not even sure there were restaurants in the 60's and 70's, all they probably had then were greasy spoon cafes and maybe a fish and chip shop next to the pub.

Manufacturing was healthy while it was home grown, but once it went global, a small island can't compete with much larger nations. Anyway that's another topic.

This.

This is a case of emotionally fragile cop. His personal life issues and frustrations were taken out on the kid(even if he committed some crime).

It must be thoroughly investigated what the guy did to provoke the police man. He seemed passionately angry.

I'm sure it will be thoroughly investigated but that cannot be used as a justification. I might look at this video and think I am entitled to kick the policeman in the groin, then stamp on his head because I am passionately angry. Do you think I would be justified?

The two bros assaulted by the police yesterday were released last night.

I don’t understand, if they were booted in the face for attacking a police officer, then how were they released within hours after arrest?

You can’t be released this quickly if you have assaulted a police officer, that too apparently breaking their nose and sending them to hospital

Watchdog to investigate 'level of force' used by Greater Manchester Police officer in Manchester Airport video

The police watchdog is now investigating 'the level of force' used by a Greater Manchester Police officer after footage emerged from an arrest at Manchester Airport.

The video, which was widely shared on social media yesterday, appeared to show an officer kicking and stamping on the head of a man who was lying face down on the floor. The footage was filmed at Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2 on Tuesday.

Police said three of their officers had been assaulted - including a female PC who suffered a broken nose. Four men were arrested on the scene.

A police officer has since been suspended from all duties. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has now confirmed that an independent investigation is underway into the level of force used by the officer.

IOPC regional director Catherine Bates said the investigation will be 'thorough and robust' and that a 'significant amount' of body-worn and CCTV footage had already been gathered. In a statement, Ms Bates said: "We can confirm we are independently investigating the level of force used by a Greater Manchester Police officer as part of an incident in which a number of men were arrested at Manchester Airport on Tuesday 23 July.

"We have been advised by the force that the officer has now been suspended from all duties. We appreciate the footage which was shared on social media has attracted widespread shock and concern.

"It is vitally important we investigate all of the circumstances surrounding the incident. We are independent of the police and our investigation will be thorough and robust.

"Our enquiries are in their very early stages but we have already secured a significant amount of body worn video and CCTV footage which will be subject to detailed analysis. We appreciate people want answers and we will work to provide those answers as quickly as we can.

"Updates will be provided as our investigation progresses." In a statement issued on Thursday morning, a spokesperson for GMP said: “Following a thorough review of further information that has become available in relation to an incident at Manchester Airport on Tuesday evening, Greater Manchester Police has suspended a police officer from all duties.

"A referral has now been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) for a full independent investigation. We understand the deep concerns that have been widely raised with us, and will continue to meet and discuss these feelings with Greater Manchester residents and elected representatives, whilst this independent investigation takes place."

The video sparked a protest in Rochdale last night, where the members of the public involved in the incident are believed to be from. Around 200 people gathered outside the police station, with some chanting 'GMP shame on you'.

Today (July 25), another protest is set to take place outside Andy Burnham's offices on Oxford Street in Manchester city centre. According to the organisation Greater Manchester Stand Up To Racism, demonstrators will gather outside the Greater Manchester Mayor's offices at 6pm to 'demand the immediate suspension of all officers involved.

Mr Burnham this morning called for 'calm' around the 'disturbing' footage. He added that 'time has to be taken to get a clearer picture of what has happened'.

These officers were completely out of control.

All of them need to be sacked and prosecuted.

You can be released on bail if there isn’t enough evidence to charge or/and cops are still investigating.

Cops body cams will show everything tho so maybe made up by the police

Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham, who has met the home secretary over the incident, has appealed for calm

After the meeting, Yvette Cooper said she understood the “the widespread distress" the footage had caused, adding she had spoken to police about the "urgent steps" they are taking.

She said it was "essential" police had the trust of communities, and the public "rightly expect high standards from those in charge of keeping us safe".

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said it understood the “deep concerns" that had been "widely raised".
The footage sparked a protest outside Rochdale police station on Wednesday night, with hundreds of people gathered, and chants of "shame on you" heard.

In the build-up to the incident shown in the clip, a police spokesman said that firearms officers had been punched to the ground after trying to make an arrest following a fight in the airport.

What’s bigger evidence than a police officer with a broken nose (apparently)? It either happened or it didn’t. If it happened, then the boys should not be released.

The officer booting the kid and kicking the other one complying is a separate case, he should be arrested for his excessive use of force.

pretty sure that cops career is done, even if the lads had done suttin, there is no way you can justify kicking and stomping someone prone on the ground.

He should never be a cop again. As a matter of fact, he should be jailed for an unprovoked physical assault.

There's no space in UK prisons! In fact many people roaming around after getting jail sentences because the prisons are overflowing and theres no space for them. Plus prisoners are getting out with shortened sentences in order to create more room. It's a mess!

Teenager kicked in face by Manchester police is ‘traumatised’, his solicitor says

A teenager who was kicked in the face by an armed police officer while lying prone on the ground is “traumatised” and receiving hospital treatment after the “barbaric” assault, his solicitor has said.

Akhmed Yakoob said 19-year-old Muhammed Fahir was a victim of “police brutality” after footage showed an officer stamping on his head during an arrest at Manchester airport.

The video prompted widespread outrage and triggered an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct. The officer concerned has been suspended from all duties, Greater Manchester police said.

Speaking outside Rochdale police station on Thursday, Yakoob said Fahir and his family were “traumatised” and “scared of the police, scared to come outside the house”.

He claimed Fahir was “fighting for his life” and that his health had “worsened since last night”.

Yakoob, who is under investigation by the solicitors’ regulatory body over controversial remarks on social media, said the teenager was being treated at the Royal Oldham hospital.

He added: “A CT scan has revealed there is a cyst on his brain so please pray for his wellbeing. Right now the main concern for us, for me, is that the family receive justice and this no longer happens again.”

The Guardian has been unable to independently verify the claims about Fahir’s condition. The IOPC and GMP have been contacted for comment.

Andy Burnham, the Greater Manchester mayor, tried to calm tensions over the footage on Thursday after a senior former Metropolitan police officer, Dal Babu, said racism played a “significant part” in the incident at Manchester airport on Tuesday night.

Burnham said he had seen more footage than had been publicly released of the incident leading up to the arrest.

The mayor made clear he was not excusing the officer’s actions but said it was “not a clearcut situation” and there were “issues on both sides” after an incident on a flight landing at Manchester airport, which Fahir’s mother is understood to have been on.

Burnham said: “So there had been already a serious incident before that. What people don’t see in the clip is that there is a situation which escalates and escalates very quickly.”

He said there were issues “on both sides” but reiterated that the footage everyone has seen is “disturbing” and said it was right to refer the situation to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) to investigate.

Yakoob said Fahir’s family had given him their account of the incident on the flight but said it was “not relevant” to the officer’s actions.

He added: “I don’t know what happened before but one thing I can say loud and clear: nothing justifies the barbaric treatment from the police officers because as you can see by the videos … there was no threat whatsoever to the police or the public.”

Yakoob said Fahir’s older brother was a serving GMP officer and said he was now “too afraid to go to work”: “He went in today and spoke to his supervisor and the only reason he is not going to work is fearing for his own safety and he thinks like his family members were victims, he will be a victim.”

He added: “The family are OK but they are traumatised. Mohammed Fahir, his medical condition has worsened since last night. A CT scan has revealed there is a cyst on his brain so please pray for his wellbeing. Right now the main concern for us, for me, is that the family receive justice and this no longer happens again.”

Asked whether he believed the alleged brain injury was linked to the incident at Manchester airport, he said: “That is something a medical professional would have to answer but as far as I know I’ve spoken to the consultant and they’re saying it could be related to the injuries at the airport.”

Yakoob said Fahir’s brother and 56-year-old mother were also assaulted by the police, alleging that she was kicked in the face. He said he would document her injuries with her permission.

Demonstrators at a protest on Wednesday night were reported to have shouted “GMP shame on you” as an estimated 200 people gathered outside Rochdale police station. A further rally is planned for Thursday night.

Yakoob, a director at Maurice Andrews Solicitors in Birmingham, came under fire this year after he used social media to promote a false claim of racism against a young teacher, prompting an investigation by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

He stood as an independent candidate in Birmingham Ladywood in the general election after coming third in the campaign for West Midlands mayor in May. He apologised in June after being criticised for saying on a podcast “70% of hell is going to be women” and for failing to condemn a guest saying he would give his wife a “backhander” if she made money dancing on TikTok.

The Rochdale MP, Paul Waugh, described the footage as “truly shocking and disturbing”.

Yvette Cooper, the home secretary, said she welcomed the IOPC’s investigation and added: “I share the deep concern surrounding the video and understand the widespread distress it will have caused.”

O Lala your understanding is weird here, even if this was a fight between two private persons, kicking like that would have been wrong. A police officer should put aside any verbal attacks received and act in accordance with his professional authority. Yeh koi do gangsters ki ladhai tou nahi hai.

You are just focusing on the reaction here but we are not aware what made him so angry.

If someone said something about my mother or my country whom I also consider no less than my mother, I might also lose my control, allegedly.

A policeman in west can't behave like that, unless there is a threatening situation.

It doesn't matter what was said or done.

So you have justified the police officer playing football with someone's head on the basis of a yet to be confirmed story?

The correct answer from someone who understands the responsibility of policing would be that it is inexcusable from anyone wearing a uniform. No BUTS about it.
Officer having the broken nose is visible in the video itself and the police statement also confirmed it.

Any civilian attacking police is a crime anywhere in the world and thats what I stated.

The police officer kicked the guy who was already down in an act of vengeance I guess and it is completely wrong. As, the way he kicked could have resulted in a serious injury too, it should be an assault and thats what I stated saying it would be ideal to charge both of them.

Where am I justifying things here? It seems like people are used to putting words in the mouth here.

There would be rioting if this happened, these guys are only good for showing force to the vulnerable. You can’t attack any mother and expect to get away with it no matter who you are and about how they treated the others, the suspension will be the least of their worries.
