Saim has just scored 161 not out from 151 deliveries with 17 fours and 5 sixes in a chase carrying his bat until 50th over opening the innings. This is unheard of from a Pakistani batsmen. Should we be getting excited about him? I hope PCB grooms him and fast track him to under 19 cricket and then overseas tours. Could be a great batsmen.
 
Pak don't seem to have done too well throughout the series, relying on individuals to dig them out of holes...

The Ayub kid doesn't seem to have done much apart from that innings. On a side note, nice to see he bowled a few overs too.
 
Good performance in the final game of the tour - Only T20 - he scored 56 off 42 balls

@0:52 felt nostalgic as watching Jayasuriya. Incredible hit,though is a left-hander. We already have too many lefties in the team and reserves.

We=ith so many lefties we are looking more like minnow Sri Lanka team of WC 92.

Looks a bit like Rishabh Pant. He had better composure than Pant while hitting the slog sweeps and hoicks.
 
These days I get more excited when I see a good young Pakistani batsman than a pace bowler.

We seem to be desperate for a young batsman with a bit of class.
 
Unfortunately, players like irfan jr would play for the next 10 years on emerging quota while the talented young batsmen like him will be left to rot in the local circuit.
 
Looks very confident in taking on bowlers.

Its important PCB have measures in place so young talents can continue to improve.
 
He's the kind of player that should be going to the MCC to work with Steve Kirby, and the like.

Not Yasir Jan, who wasn't actually all that a bowler, but just had that party trick of being able to bowl with both arms. Incidentally, what is he doing nowadays?
 
A Left handed Javed in stance, but very good bat swing. Also, that first Six actually remind Saeed for the wristy flicks. A little too leg-sidish for my liking, but that can be due to playing too many short format or tape tennis cricket at the start of young career. Overall good prospect and worthy of investing. Instead of 30 years old youngsters, PCB should arrange a special long-term program under an MCC Level 3 pro batting Coach - if coaches are not interested to come in PAK, may be few such kids can be sent for 4/5 months scholarship to UK/AUS; surely Basit Ali's are not working.

Not sure - those 2 were not that good in QeA either. But, more than Sharjeel, scary thought is Azhar clone - which indeed a possibility, when your entire focus of batting is to play a game between cricket & hockey.
 
That last flick shot was totally Anwar-esque, he looks really good

One to keep an eye on.

Let's hope he doesn't get lost in the chaos of Pakistan domestic cricket.

Could’ve been fast-tracked into first class cricket. Kids like him get spoilt playing age limited cricket. Let him play in a regional or departmental side. If he perform there, fast track him to either PSL or Pakistan A team (if he prefers 4-5 day cricket over limited overs cricket). Otherwise, he’ll play in one U-19 WC and will be forgotten within couple of years.
 
He reminds me of Chanderpaul .

He looks good while playing big shots, certainly should be invested in.

Sindh’s opening batsman Saim Ayub scored 79 off 104 as Sindh U19 beat Balochistan U19 by 123 runs in the final of the National U19 One-Day Tournament 2019 at the Rana Naveed Cricket Academy in Sheikhupura on Wednesday. After opting to bat, Sindh scored 250 for nine in 50 overs. Saim, the left-handed batsman’s, innings included six fours and two sixes.
 
Northern U19 v Sindh U19, LCCA Ground, Lahore:

Saim Ayub scored 87 not out off 106 balls with eight fours and one six to guide his team to a seven-wicket win over Northern. He was named player of the match.
 
Is it too early for him to be playing in the second team for first class team?

Am hoping Muhammad will give him a chance

Lahore, 28 November 2020: Centuries from Saim Ayub and Ghazi Ghouri were the highlights on day one of National U19 Three-Day Tournament final being played between Northern and Sindh at KRL Stadium in Rawalpindi on Saturday.

Opting to bat first, Sindh scored 461 for six in 83 overs.

Openers Mubashir Nawaz and Saim gave a 73-run start. Mubashir scored 41 off 40 balls, which included eight boundaries. Saim who top-scored with a 142-ball 108, struck 12 fours and two sixes. He knitted a 94-run partnership for the second wicket with Rizwan Mehmood who scored 44 off 75 balls, hitting six fours.

Lahore, 19 October 2021: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Aamer Azmat and Sindh’s Saim Ayub struck centuries on day two of the ongoing fifth round of the Cricket Associations Championship (three-day event), but star of the day was Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Waqar Ahmed who scored a double hundred against Northern to put his side in a commanding position.

Resuming their innings on the overnight score of 27 for no loss, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa scored 496 for seven in 83 overs. Right-handed batter and captain Waqar Ahmed top-scored with 220 off 225 balls. His 329 minutes stay at the crease included 30 fours and three sixes.

Aamer Azmat coming to bat at number three scored 101 off 111 balls. He smashed 13 fours and one six, and added 216 runs for the second-wicket with Waqar. Mehran Ibrahim coming to bat at number five returned undefeated on 77 off 64 balls which included six fours and one six.

For Northern, Sadaqat Ali picked four wickets for 147, while Zaman Khan grabbed two for 83 in 14 overs.

Over at the Saeed Ajmal Academy Ground in Faisalabad, left-handed batter Saim Ayub was the star performer for Sindh as he scored 185 to help his side take a 192-run first innings lead over Balochistan.

Resuming their first innings at 126 for two, Sindh were bowled out for 339 in the 81st over. Both batters Saim and Faraz Ali resumed batting on 71 and 49 respectively on day two. Saim’s 185 runs came off 224 balls, where he struck 23 fours. Faraz scored 82 off 143 balls, laced with eight fours and one six.

Saim Ayub scored 98-ball 101, laced with 12 fours and two sixes. He was supported by his opening partner Usman Khan (95, 159b, 10 fours, three sixes) as both added 178 runs for the opening wicket.

He's very organised and correct technically. Good future prospect
 
Really good to see that youngsters are getting opportunities with both bat and ball.
 
Yes he was a hot prospect at age of 16 but i think he struggled the upgrade to under 19 had high hopes for him

Really impressive stuff. Good to see a young guy putting in hard yards on his whiteball game in the off season and getting the results. Handy part time leggy as well along with being a good fielder.
 
Technically sound batsmen with a bit of flair , lacks power to hit sixes with ease though , all those sixes were barely cleared the rope.
 
He looks really impressive and very pleasing to the eye. Looks like a proper potential all round format player.

Most impressive thing to watch in that video were how many boundaries/sixes were on the offside,

Like every other Pakistani batsmen, he does not look good vs short ball so that'll be something he will need to work on.
 
Saim scored at a staggering strike rate of 177 and smashed seven sixes and six fours to set a demanding 191-run target for Northern. The left-handed opener added 39 and an innings-defining 85 with Omair Bin Yousuf (18 off 15) and Saud Shakeel (20 off 18) respectively, playing the lead role in both stands, after his opening partner Sharjeel Khan was cleaned up in the first over.
 
Should focus now on cementing his spot in the first class cricket. There is no reason why he shouldn’t be scoring 10k first class runs in the next 6-7 years.
 
I agree i seen glimpses of old saim ayub today he was the next big thing in under 16s but struggled big time in under 19s ..hopefully his confidence is back
 
Nice compact player with style.He needs to put some weight on bearly clearing the boundary.
