[VIDEOS] Sir Ravindra Jadeja tributes thread

One of those unfortunate cricketers who will always be hated by the masses regardless of what he achieves.

You can say he's the Samit and Patel and Fawad Alam of India.

Jadeja is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ahead of the two mentioned above,Fawad Alam isn't even an allrounder and Samit Patel....well he has taken 28 wickets bowling nearly 350 overs in International Cricket and has only 1 half century in Odis ...and needlessly lightyears behind Jaddu in fielding and running btw.....

I didn't compare their ability as cricketers did I?

Jadeja is obviously better than both Patel and Fawad but I made the analogy in the sense that all three will always be disliked by the masses regardless of how well they do.

Fawad Alam has been brilliant at FC level and has a good record in tests but many people (including me) don't like him.

Sir looked better than any spinner yesterday, got some good turn and bounce, few of the positives from yesterday's game

Mediocre player. Hopefully he will be exposed once and for all in this tournament.

Anybody want to see a pic I took of him with a Pakistani player? He wouldn't take any fan pics lol.

Don't want him anywhere near the team, and certainly not in England.

Would love to see Sir who was the lucky pakistani player to have a photo with our beloved Sir?

Ok. I own this photo before anybody nicks it!

^Should've watermarked it.

Now anybody can do an England and flick it for themselves.

Caption: Sir giving some tips to akmal how to improve his batting so he can bat like Sir!

He is one the few great knights in world cricket. The others being Sir Vivan Lara Farhat, Sir Garry Khan Bopara and Sir Malcom Younis Dernbach

come on, he is the 7th best ODI bowler in the world (being serious here)

Against England in India, sure. Against nobody and nowhere else can he hope to hold on to that stat.

Amazing inning by jaddu again....can't believe anyone can hate this kid.....superstar of future

haha i was sure this thread will be back on top! Sir deserver it

Jaddu has played better innings than this, but one of his better innings when conditions were tough, even dhoni was struggling

Won the game today, brilliant allround :14:

I don't get the hate he gets.

Brilliant fielder, very handy with both bat n ball.

Alright, I concede.

The guy is a good all-rounder to have in the one-day and test side.

Still a little limited with the bat though.

He's turning into a very very good one day player.

And still just 24 so lots of time for improvement.

agree.but he has improved which is the best thing I like.couuldnt get the ball off the square 2 yrs ago.now his range of shots n power has improved.

I don't think he's hated anymore. He used to be because he lost us a game from winning position, but now he's turning out to be a handy ODI player.

Very clever hitting today in the death overs. That six was HUGE!

Like him. Gives it his all batting, bowling and fielding. Got dropped and worked hard to improve. Like guys like that, if they're hard workers like that always ready to give them a chance.

He's being doing great recently. Keep that up and he'll be no.1 allrounder.

Haha true. I sat up and spat out some coffee when he smashed that. Came out of nowhere, didn't realize he was capable of such pyrotechnics.

That just means you havent watched him enough recently:asif

+1

Actually I thought he spooned it to the mid on fielder! :))

Agreed I'd kill for hitter like him in our lower order, we are pathetic in that department without razzaq etc.

Razzaq was amazing at his peak but Jadeja has exceeded expectations even though no-one had any from him except his captain Dhoni....He is here to stay whether we like it or not...

Jadeja ain't really a hitter really. He did well today, but that's not how he usually plays. Useful bowling and chips in a bit with the runs.

That was a terrific all round performance, excellent with the bat and economical with the bowl picked up two wickets as well. Always rated him, the mustache has brought confidence in him, the longer it grows the more confident he's going to get.

Ravi Jadeja is a seriously good cricketer.Yesterdays performance, an obvious example especially with the ball. He's improved a lot.India's 4-0 whitewash against Australia wouldn't have happened without him.

Been there done that.
Not been there, still done that. :kapil

He's killed the boy within and become a man.

As a neutral, this is how I rate Jadeja(forget the 'SIR')

He is a brilliant fielder
A rubbish batsman who could however, do some slogging like afridi.
A handy bowler

All in all a decent player to have in your side. People should stop calling him a genuine allrounder. He is a handy bowler who could bat a bit. I think he could turn out to be a vettori

^^ He is not a rubbish batsman Executioner.

He will prove it in the coming days, he is on par with Shakib Al Hasan, all he needs is uninterrupted chances.

He was the difference between India getting a par score and a match winning score.

We'd have surely lost the game yesterday if he had not come up with that innings.

That picture is morphed. Sir Jadejaa is atleast 6 feet taller then Kapil Paaji

Rubbish batsman ? Jadeja's batting is nowhere close to Afridi, who is the perfect example of blind slogger. Jadeja might not be a very big hitter but I have seen him playing some real sensible shot, just like any pure middle order batsman. No other middle order batsmen (last night match) including Dhoni, Karthik and Raina were as comfortable as Jadeja was.

Shakib play at number 4-5 where as Jadeja play at number 7 mostly, so it doesn't make any sense comparing these two. Jadeja is bit unlucky when it comes to batting, unfortunately he play for Indian team where he don't get to play more than 10-15 overs.

Jadeja is a future star, the only country where he could get hatred in is India....can't explain.... sad

Thats why i said to compare with vettori. Ok rubbish maybe a bit too harsh. He is basically a pretty average batsman. Then again, if u can call Malik and Farhat rubbish then Jadeja would fall into the same category

Yes...that's a pretty decent word (average as compared to rubbish) for Jadeja. It's ridiculous to compare Jadeja with Vettori; the kiwi is more of a bowler rather than a batsman where as Jadeja is a proper All Rounder.

Vettori's Batting average is 17.39@ SR of 81.93 - Bowling Avg - 31.48
Jadeja's Batting average is 31.60@ SR of 81.25 - Bowling Avg - 33.65

Malik is a decent all rounder similar to Jadeja (stat wise), but Farhat is absolutely crap.

Well, all I can say is Sir RJ has exceeded expectations of one and all in India. Even we're surprised! Pleasantly though. What more, nobody expects Sir to do anything on any day, so whatever he does for the team comes as a bonus. We take it gladly. Good days these.

That isn't true any more. During the Australia test series I was constantly expecting Jadeja to be amongst the wickets. He can be a dangerous bowler in the SC conditions and can be quite handy away. I am not yet so sure of his batting though.

Did you? Sir had lost all credibility when he gave 6 sixes off 6 balls (across 2 overs) to Warner and Watson in West Indies T20 WC (bowling those short balls :)) ). He seems to have come a long way after that mauling. But yes, his batting still needs improvement though

All in all, he's developing into India's most reliable bowler (easily better than Ashwin & trundlers don't come into picture).

OK if not Vettori, then Jadeja's comparison is Robin Pietersen.

Both are magnificent fielder
Pietersen is slightly better as a batsman
Jadeja slightly better with the ball.

And both bat and bowl in similar positions/situation. Vettori didnt have a great batting average in ODIs because he probably batted at 8/9 because during his era, NZ had one of the best batting lineups in the world. In tests, he actually performed decently with the bat

Ravindra jadeja is an out and out fighter .... U need wickets bring ravindra jadeja he will oblige
Need a strong finish jadeja will do it most of the times .... Tiger of a fielder changes momentum of the game by run outs or brilliant catches

Doubt him at ur own risk ....

how is Peterson better batsman?

how is Peterson better batsman?

Well thats my opinion having watched both of them bat. I said slightly better, i maybe wrong though.

You could consider that both of them are more or less equal as a batsman, though RJ has triple centuries to his name but he has never performed to half of his potential in international cricket with the bat

The shorter formats are bowler's nightmare. The best bowlers can go for runs, remember Malinga conceding 100+ runs in an ODI match when Kohli went berserk? Any bowler can go for plenty of runs against Watto and Warner when they are on song, though luckily they are not skilled enough to do that too often.

Re: Sir Ravindra Jadeja tributes thread (please read post #254):

My current favourite Indian player

Okay, I'm forced to concede defeat on my propaganda.

This is an utter legend we're dealing with!

This just shows what happens when you select on domestic records, Jadeja seemed poor but he's shown that domestic form is no fluke.

His batting has looked great, fielding too, and bowling too

Sadly, we dropped our only domestic performing batsman, Fawad, despite him doing better with the bat than our other batsman

Re: Sir Ravindra Jadeja tributes thread (please read post #254):

Sir RJ is on fire. Epic bowling.
