Virat Kohli - The new king of daddy hundreds

If he can have a good series in SA, he has a solid shot at an ATG spot in tests, given he retires with a 50+ test average

Kohli is doing phenomenal. But its to be seen that whether his daddy hundreds are equivalent to Sanga's daddy hundreds or Lara's one?

Lara had daddy hundreds against McGrath, Murali, Warne, Gillispie and Lee while Kohli's daddy hundreds are going the way it was for Sanga i.e. against lessee teams or against good teams at home which means he is still doing fantastic and can atleast become an ATG like Sangakkara if he continues his good performance for a longer time in tests.

Lara made most of his runs against lesser bowlers. Himself admitted and there is a statsguru analysis as well. Ponting was the real deal.

If McGrath had six overs to bowl, 36 balls, I'd be facing ten, Chanderpaul would be facing 26.

Brian Lara on what he did when Glenn McGrath's bowling made him feel uncomfortable

I have checked. you can also check his runs against each bowler during his daddy hundreds.

Its irrelevant. Runs are runs if you are scoring against top quality attack. There is a reason why many posters rate Lara as best bat since Bradman- ahead of Viv, ahead of Sobers and ahead of Tendulkar.

Personally, I rate those three higher but talking about general.

He's definitely improved in this aspect a lot. Well done.

He's a better test batsman than in ODIs. He has more freedom here and isn't restricted by the need to accelerate against high quality seamers which he has trouble with.

Chief Destroyer He did destroy Wahab and Gul in 2012.

He is a very smart batsman with lovely wrists and timing.

Gul was a high quality ODI bowler.

But lets not start calling that one spell a year wonder, Mr Riaz, a quality ODI bowler.
