Tense day of cricket in the offing - all really depends on Babar.

JAYDEN SEALES REPRIMANDED FOR BREACHING ICC CODE OF CONDUCT

West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales has been reprimanded for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the opening day of the first Test against Pakistan in Kingston.

Seales was found to have breached Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “Using language, actions or gestures which disparage, or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match.”

In addition to this, one demerit point has been added to the disciplinary record of Seales, for whom it was the first offence in a 24-month period.

The incident occurred in the 70th over of Pakistan’s first innings, after the dismissal of batter Hasan Ali, when Seales used inappropriate language towards Hasan which could have provoked an aggressive reaction from him.

Richie Richardson of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction, which was ratified by the ICC Cricket Operations department as per the COVID-19 interim playing regulations. Seales pleaded guilty to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing.

The charge was levelled by on-field umpires Gregory Brathwaite, Joel Wilson, Nigel Duguid and TV umpire Leslie Reifer.

Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of a fine of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points.

Babar needs to take the responsibility and get the lead to 200 but knowing the history he will be first to get out.

He has conversation issues he doesn't do well on a new day.

It’s obvious Yasir Shah is finished and Pakistan are about to lose. Many thanks to Misbah in advance for this embarrassment. Pakistan cricket has always just been unwatchable ever since he was captain.

Babar's concentration first thing on a new day or on resumption of his innings is so bad that he fails to get going from his overnight score.

He will need to put that right and put in the hard yards again today if Pakistan is to put up a 250 total for WI to chase down.

Babar usually has lapses in concentration when he resumes next day. If Babar manages to negotiate the first half hour tomorrow then he can ramp up the target and together with it Pakistan's chances.

Babar needs a clutch captain's innings and this could be one for him. One to silence the haters.

I hope Babar doesn't repeat his habit of get out early morning of next day.

Anyway, new ball is due after 10 overs. Batting will be difficult then.

Valid point. I think after getting set in in first 3-5 overs, Faheem needs to shift to his usual style of play to get the scoreboard moving while Babar tries to stay their playing like he normally does as well and take the innings as deep as possible.

New ball can definitely be in issue for Yasir and Hassan so the current pair either need to get some score going before that or should somehow be their for the new ball as well. Getting the scoreboard moving is a more controllable option.

Just bat and bat and bat... bat for the whole of day 4, make use of the time. Babar is there so he can chaperone this 2nd inns.

Pakistan have it on their own hands but they tends to panic in a situation like this and end up getting skittled out. By exercising patience and batting long, the pressure will build on the opposition.

Last thing we need is being skittled out for 200 leaving only around 160 to chase with 6 sessions to go. Do tuk tuk, play your shots but do it so we can't lose.

Pakistan will be bundled out today in the firs session but I also don't see West Indies chasing this. Abbas will wreck havoc.

Faheem showing his value again as an all rounder. 44 in first innings and a wicket. And supporting Babar very well in this innings.

Tail needs to contribute and Babar needs to get to 3 figures ideally

Inevitable that wicket, Faheem was hanging on by a string against Roach.

Babar needs to start playing his shot now... Our tail is the worst tail in the world..

I dont see Pak batsmen surviving for too long especially with new ball around the corner. Babar, should try to play his game while Yasir and Hassan should try to attack and get some quick runs.

Let's see how Babar bats with the tail.

This is a dream opportunity to rack up a hundred and show what he's made of.

Play 4-5 balls, and then rotate strike. Find boundaries from poor deliveries.

Thats was kind of unplayable. Bounced from good length

Did you see the delivery that got him?
It absolutely took off from a length and this ball is 76 overs old

his overall intent was negative

After Faheem was gone. You can't survive here

No point in tail hanging around.
Hasan Ali should just have a little slog and hope it comes off.

150 seems too far now.

Hasan and Yasir need to play their natural attacking game. Nothing to gain by a 30 ball 4 run innings here.

Like I said a few hours ago Babar's concentration on resumption after a break or a day is terrible and he again proves that by getting out early.

It seems like now it is game set and match West Indies as they will fancy themselves chasing anything under 200.

I really hope the West Indies make the new ball talk and win this match.

I can’t see any way forward for Pakistan until Misbah is replaced. They are stuck in a rut with useless geriatric batsmen who never perform but never get dropped.

The only members of this Top Six who should be in the team are Babar and Rizwan. It’s insane.

He's been trying to play himself in and also the ball is jagging around with variable bounce...
He couldn't have done it any differently

The tail is too long.

I think Nawaz would have been a very good selection on this pitch.

Hasan often scores quickfire 20s and 30s and Limited over cricket but in tests he just seems to copy Boycott.

Management change before World T20 is highly unlikely.

Babar, Rizwan, and Fawad Alam in my opinion.

Azhar should stick around the squad but will need to open from now on.

Poor from Babar. Showed glimpses but couldn't take it through. Still far from a great player in test cricket.

Definitely a lot to prove in test cricket but, cant blame him much today considering the ball from good length rose suddenly.

The outfield of this ground from the very start of the match has been like snail’s pace
