Mohammad Abbas's wickets towards the end of Day 1:

imran butt is such a good slipper, wish he had some batting skill.

A near perfect end to the day for Pakistan last night

Jason Holder (at end of Day 1):

Partnership of Babar and Azhar Ali was a good example of it and also two left-handers in the middle, Fawad and Faheem and I think they put up a really good partnership and I think that is one positive we can take from them and apply ourselves better with the bat.

Shaheen needs to get some wickets now - cant leave it on Abbas!

Partnership 20 already in 7 overs. Need to break it before it gets too serious. Pakistan don't have a mammoth target in the first innings.

Shaheen not having the same control as Abbas. Shaheen needs to deliver for Pakistan chances in this match.

The poor bowling continues... Didn't these bowlers watched how Windies bowled :facepalm

Pakistan are well ahead in this game considering WI has to bat last here

Perhaps but the bowling length should invite a drive but the bowlers are bowling around 5th stump line which the Windies batsman are leaving quite comfortably.

Partnership 50 runs now, entering the dangerous territory.

Expected better from the bowlers after 2/2 overnight.

Yes gone Hasan dismisses Chase..he always breaks the partnership.

Big wicket that of Chase!

Pakistan need to get that false shot.

I repeat this is not an easy wicket but this current period the Dukes is not doing much

Hasan looks pumped. Bowling in right channels. He needs support at other end too, Faheem has been a tad loose.

Faheem should improve his bowling to become regular member of a Test team as a all rounder

This team has regressed so much from 2015. An organisation lacking structure, leadership and competence.

Lunch 81/3, WI would be happy with that effort after being 2/2 overnight.

79/1 for Windies in that session.

They'll be happy with that.

Pakistan bowling a bit flat this morning.

I think it's time to introduce Yasir Shah.

Both batsmen looking settled, and the conditions aren't overcast.

What a poor shot from Blackwood. Hopefully Shaheen gets some confidence from it

Pakistan should tour the West Indies a lot more for test cricket.

Good conditions.

WI with some decent batting depth. Having De Silva at 8 is kind of a luxury

Lucky call for the outside leg.

Another day, a bit more movement, that would have been out.

Time to drop Blackwood - can't live off that 95 in Southampton forever.

Not much options for them but, Blackwood has been struggling sometime. I personally think Hope as opener (Struggled in middle order in test career so far) instead of Powell and Darren Bravo in the middle instead of Blackwood would make lineup look better than their current one. Bravo isnt even in the squad I guess.

Commies talking about match up of Yasir and Braithwaite for sometime that how Yasir has dominated. I hope our captain and leadership group knows any thing about that. :smith

Bravo's out because of bubble fatigue, but Brooks should be playing especially having scored 134 in an intrasquad warmup, and given how inept Chase and Blackwood look.

Unfortunately having opted out of the Bangladesh tour, he fell down the pecking order after Mayers and Bonner's heroics.

Faheem does get some movement off the pitch. If he starts pitching it further up he'll become a decent test bowler. Atm he bowls a defensive length

132kph! By Abbas. Looks in good rhythm. If he can maintain that then batting out of the crease to him wont be as easy.

Feel for Rizwan, very difficult surface to keep on

Braithwate has been carrying this innings and Yasir even after getting and edge in one over yesterday and despite his really good record against him is yet to ball.

Faheem is an absolute trash bowler. What’s the point of playing Yasir if you aren’t going to bowl him?
