Cant wait! International cricket is fully returning with Eng vs. NZ and Aus vs. WI and shortly after that we have the Tri-series and Asia Cup. I am so grateful that the end of IPL drama is nearly here. This has been a horrid time for me cricket-wise.

Where the hell did that come from, thanks I guess? Anyway back to WI vs. Aus, I really hope WI can win or tie the series but that looks very unlikely without Gayle and Samuels and their reluctancy to use spinners. But anyway should be a good match hopefully Taylor and Edwards will carry-on their good form with the ball and would be great to see some good scores from Sarwan, Chanderpaul and Bravo. Good Luck Windies!

gayle we will miss :(

samuels..good riddance...another failure :pissed:

did not mean to offend u bout b/d....i meant is that they got soo much talent but the batsmen just throw their wickets away. that makes me mad :pissed:

AUS have won the toss and will BAT first.

So there you have it! I am hoping for 4 or 5 wickets in the 1st session

Oh no! I am not offended what u say is 100% true. I was just a bit surprised when u started talking about Bangladesh when I was talking about this match lol, anyway yeah me too I wish BD can win more consistently but that seems so far away with an administration and board like ours. And with poor selectors and a depressed and unaspiring coach that just makes it harder.

Looks like Krapich and Stodge are in. Hopefully Krapich can play a sheet anchor role or something, block a few balls or something and hang around. Surely he couldn't choke against the WI. Go Krapich!

Edwards to Katich, no run, Edged but it fell just short of the 'keeper Ramdin. It was slung across, full in length and outside off, Katich was rooted to the crease, lunged out at it, reaching for it and got a thin edge. Ramdin dived forward but couldn't reach it in time. Just fell short.

ALMOST!

Katich on a rolll - nothing like a few boundaries to get the crowd in ;-)

1.1 Edwards to Katich, no run, Edged but it fell just short of the 'keeper Ramdin. It was slung across, full in length and outside off, Katich was rooted to the crease, lunged out at it, reaching for it and got a thin edge. Ramdin dived forward but couldn't reach it in time. Just fell short.

I have a feeling that he will score a big 100 :(

LOL @ Krapich what a nub. We needed him to bat till lunch at least.

3.4 Edwards to Katich, OUT, Gone this time! The first wicket of the series goes to Fidel Edwards. He hurled that one full and outside off, it moved away a touch, Katich, on the shuffle, chased it, reaching out well away from the body and went for a square drive. Fatal. It flew off the outside edge to backward point.
SM Katich c Sammy b Edwards 12 (11b 3x4 0x6) SR: 109.09

C'mon lets be avin ya!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Got him!!

Katich gone...Ozgod :)))

In seriousness, I think he was overanxious and got carried away with all the fours. He's a stodgy player, he should stick to blocking and batting till lunch. Let Jaques take the risks.

ozz - aint u supporting Aus? have u become a double agent?

I'm supporting OZ, but I knew that Krapich was going to get out...he didn't take the time to play himself in. Too much nerves I reckon.

u jinxed him!!!

see wot Ponting has been doing since he left ipl...

How fast is Fidel bowling today?
strange that there is hawkeye but apparently no spped guns. I am not seeing bowling speed

Collymore was the last west indian seamer who knew how to take 5fers.

Taylor, you idiot.

hey..someone give me a link to this game ....all the sites seem to be playing only IPL....and to be honest I don't give a dman about IPL.

fidel edwards doing his thang :14:

come on now dont let punter get back in form

WI bowlers : Feed punter a 'heavy' ball just off goodlength outside the offstump and he will fend to the slips.

ishant just exposed it on the tour down under
and ambrose and walsh exposed it during the late 90's

:))) :))) :)))

Ambrose and Walsh were two of the best bowlers EVER

Ishant averaged 60 in Australia

Ponting would smash Ishant any day of the week if he was in form. He was out of form, that's what got him out, not the "60+ averaging Indian superstar bowler"

Sky Sports have just shown coverage of the Windies coach logging onto PP to read ur comments. He's holding up a placard thanking u for ur advice.

Oh and there goes Punter thanks to ur advice!:D:p

you have to be quite fast and tall to do that. May be Powell can do it.

The 2 back-up bowlers have a job to do here - preferably pick another one up before lunch.

some stories getting posted at cricinfo

For those who missed the first mention of the Mavericks list. I had started off with George Gunn, listed at 44 in the Wisden Cricketer list. David Frith writes: "An earlier Derek Randall, Gunn was unpredictable and volatile. He gave his wicket when lunch was delayed because "I always have my lunch at 1o'clock"; he advanced to West Indies quicks, blocking bouncers in front of his face and blowing the bowler a raspberry. It is said, too, that he missed an England tour because he put the invitation unopened into his pocker and did not rediscover it till next spring."
------
Maverick list continues. No 29: Bomber Wells. ""The court jester of count cricket in the 1950s. Bomber always played with a smile. His batting and fielding belonged on the village green but he became a master at bowling without a run up. He once contrived to complete and over while the Worchester Cathedral clock was striking 12. When his captain told him he was making a nonsense of the game and sent him back eight yards. Bomber simply stood there and bowled a 30-yard ball"

Aus 68-2 after 17 overs
Ponting 36 - Hussey 5

Maybe give A Jaggernauth (such a great name) an over or 2 before the break?
