West Indies v Australia | 2nd Test | Antigua | 30/5/08 to 03/6/08

Man, the umpires are under the wringer in this match.

Replays are showing the same kind of thing. Symonds was adamant he had not gloved that, shaking his head vigorously
53.1 Taylor to Symonds, no run, a huge, monstrously huge, appeal for a strangle down the leg side but Symonds - and crucially the umpire - are unmoved. It appeared to have hit his glove in real time

symmonds back to his best :p

53.1 Taylor to Symonds, no run, back of a length delivery down the leg side, Symonds goes on the backfoot and looks to glance it down, misses, HUGE APPEAL!! for caught behind turned down by umpire Mark Benson, it seems that it had come off his gloves, another rough decision goes against the West Indians!!!

Symonds has to be one of the luckiest batsman in the world :|

He survives close to everything. Poor West Indies, this is ***** umpiring.

surely u must feel the ball touching ur gloves, or no??

Haddin out LBW
222-5 - lead of 349

57.1 Edwards to Haddin, OUT, the finger comes up slowly to send Haddin on his way as a low one is slung in around middle and leg and would have gone on to miss leg stump
BJ Haddin lbw b Edwards 7 (12b 1x4 0x6) SR: 58.33

Looks like old ball is doing more than new one. The post lunch period tomorrow will be good

Lee hit on head by Edwards. He is down on his knees. He Looks okay. Helmet getting fixed by Symonds

Edwards felled Lee in the first Test, too, but Lee was up a lot more quickly. Chanderpaul loiters in the background; he knows how it feels

57.3 Edwards to Lee, no run, Lee's gone down quickly after Edwards struck him a sharp blow on the helmet, the ball deviating up his arm from a short and straight one and hit him on the side of the visor

LOL the umpiring in this match has been very ordinary to say the least.

Edwards to Haddin, OUT, slings in low towards middle and leg and Haddin's given. Replays show that the ball was going down leg, so another questionable decision, but this time in West Indies' favour
BJ Haddin lbw b Edwards 7 (12b 1x4 0x6) SR: 58.33

This is what happens when the umps realise they make a few mistakes and panic - they compound the mistakes.

Symonds and Edwards have some discussions which look like a terse exchange of words to me - cricinfo

Aus 235/5 (60 ov) - lead of 363

Lee out ct behing off Edwards. A short ball that Lee was trying to leave. the duel continues
Aus 244-6 - lead of 371

61.5 Edwards to Lee, OUT, got him! This will be the last ball of the day now, Lee adjudged to have gloved a short ball through. He's shaking his head but he has to go - and indeed it his forearm and not glove
B Lee c Ramdin b Edwards 4 (13b 0x4 0x6) SR: 30.76

Why did they end the day at 5:35. Light is good and they could play for another 25 minutes to make up some more overs

LOL the umps have totally lost the plot I think.

Well seems like a day of random umpiring mistakes. :D

Windies are gone here, they can't bat out a day for a draw. No patience.

Even with thirteen men on the Australia side this match will still be a draw. A disgraceful pitch and disgraceful umpiring although this is the norm when teams play Australia! Doesn't come as a surprise at all.

I reckon the Barbados pitch will be by far the best of the series. If you remember the matches from the World Cup the pitch was quick, bouncy, offered swing and was lively. It should suit the the likes of Lee, Taylor and Edwards with their pace.

Its been quite a competitive series and if the WI can manage to draw today, I wouldnt be surprised if they square it.

95 ovs left, WI are set 372 runs win, and are currently 4 runs in 3 ovs.

Seems dubya learned something, and hence opened the bowling with clark and lee and not lee and mitch.

Lee bowling with some fire !

BTW just noticed that Clark bowled just 14 overs in the first innings, surprising

Marshall gone, decision was fair enough I reckon, couldn't have hit anything other than the bat or glove.

Punter is pretty biased against him.
Prefers Mitch as his B***ch.
Kept poor Clark out while Johnson wasted over after over.

Aus just playing with two bowlers at the moment, Mitch & McGilla are not test quality bowlers at all.

At least Johsnon is relatively economical. MacGill...well he looks like a bowler playing his last Test, which he is...

Just as you said it, Sarawan hits him for three 4s in an over. :)

28.1 Lee to Morton, OUT, and Lee strikes! Hits the pitch outside off, rips right back and traps him back on the crease with no foot movement, hitting him plumb in front

RS Morton lbw b Lee 14 (42b 2x4 0x6) SR: 33.33

Lee needs 3 more to get his first 10 wicket haul in a match

Lunch time
Chanderpaul 5 - Sarwan 64
WI 95-3 after 34 overs - need 277 more to win
64 overs left today

Sarwan looks set for a big one here.As a poster mentioned earlier Aus effectively bowling with only Lee and Clark.

Sarwan 82 - Chanderpaul 9
WI 118-3 after 44 overs - need 254 more to win
54 overs left today.

Terrific counter attack by Sarwan..must say people have started scoring at a faster rate against AUS once Warne-Mcgrath hung their boots.Good thinking.

126/3

50 overs for basically Sarwan, Chanderpaul and Bravo to bat. Difficult

3-36 off 25 for Lee and Clark in this innings

0-74 off 19 for Johnson and MacGill

That was out! ....but not given by the umpire

OK was just going by Cricinfo...so the WI get lucky this time with the umpires

50.6 MacGill to Sarwan, no run, and this is close, it looks out, MacGill takes the high-fives from his colleagues, MacGill think he's had Sarwan stumped dragging his foot right of the crease and lunging desperately back - on the line is out and that's where his foot appeared to be initially. Many replays are needed by the third umpire who finally decides that it is not out - just

Macgill starting to look good for a change!

Its the final few spells of his Test career...I guess he wants to leave with more positive memories than recently

The West Indian commies are actually decent.

They are good and two are missing (Holding and Dujon). The radio is not bad either

Australia must be getting desperate for a wicket now. Bring back Lee!

Jimmy Adams was funny yesterday - talking about slow over rates, and how he and Keith Arthurton used to get a regular bowl when the rate needed to be speeded up!

146-3

Sarwan on a brilliant 95*

42 overs till remain - weather set fair

I still see a massive batting collapse and defeat though....

it only takes 1 wicket and yes W.I will probably fold like a pack of cards like the 1st inns.

Macgill looking very grey and old no wonder hes retiring. Intresting how his career would have gone if warne wasnt around!

Huge appeal from Hussey - Tiffin was the umpire. Thought he was going to cave in.

Surprisingly, he didnt

147-3

The ball should also start reverse swinging soon, brett lee at one end and macgill at the other should cause problems in the last session. But WI have a lot of wickets.

Today Ian Bishop was quite funny, he talking about the permanent swimming pool inside the stadium and how the Aussie tourists were enjoying in it. Then he said that its because of the Aussies inside the pool that no West Indian has bothered to take a swim. Jimmy Adams was laughing his head off.

Well well .. Sarwan has finally decided to become a test batsmen !

And I wonder if our very own one day wonder Malik can make the same leap.

W.I 154/3

Hope Sarwan gets his 100..

7 mins till tea!

Sarawan always had the technique & the talent to do well in tests. Our Malik on the other hand wilts at the sight of fast bowling & bouncy tracks.

Sarwan reaches his 11th test hundred.

161-3

And its teatime...

Sarwan has a couple of balls here to get a TON before tea.

Well done Sarwan a brilliant hundred probably one of his best and maybe a match saving one!

Yes, but if he bowls unchanged then west indies have a decent chance of victory

Chanderpaul's form is just ridiculous. Does anyone know what his average over say the last year or so has been?

They showed a stat yesterday.

It was about 85.

And the previous year was over 100.
