Jerome Taylor is back as well as gayle. And the aussie bumpcatching :p VC is back (clarke).

2nd Test v West Indies at North Sound - May 30-Jun 3, 2008
Match scheduled to begin at 10:00 local time (14:00 GMT)

Hopefully it will be the same "cracking" test as the first one.
oh and hope taylor gets dubya out first ball :D :p

This will be good. Almost full strength teams now and WI need that more especially in batting. You can get a team out at 250 but your team has to score the same too. The pressure starts building. I was hoping that that Lawson didn't have a problem then he could be in too.
Edwards, Taylor, Lawson with Bravo would have been good. Or Collymore instead of Lawson

Big ins for the Windians, their captain and their best bowler.

I am guessing Sammy will be dropped for Taylor? It has probably been a while since someone in their team could say they were unlucky to be dropped. Windies need to perform well here to convince people they are finally actually improving.

Clarke is a good in for us but Hodge was OK in the last Test so not so much of a boost. Concerns over the openers and our second string bowlers - MacGill and Johnson need to perform.

If the Windies batting shows some backbone we could have a match on our hands.

But that's a big "If".

Think they should drop Jaggernauth for Taylor, as long as Gayle is fit enough to send down a few overs.

Gayle
Smith
Sarwan
Morton
Chanderpaul
Bravo
Ramdin
Sammy
Taylor
Powell
Edwards

Batting still looks weak with Morton, Smith and Ramdin all pretty poor really. Bowling is also poor averages wise, but there has been real improvement in recent series and with the addition of Taylor, WI's best bowler, they could potentially cause a few more problems to the Australian batting.

Cars I think they need to have a spinner (not Gayle but an attacking spinner) otherwise they have 5 right arm quicks and will start to get the South Africa syndrome. Same line length and the batsman get used to it.

Sammy is a better bowler at this stage than (Mick) Jagger but team balance would probably see him left out.

Yes that's a fair point Aussie.

If they had one or two left armers the Windians might be tempted to try it.
Who was the last left armer they had? They should trade with the subcontinent, no shortage of lefties there.

friend windies throughout history never believes in playing a spinner.

thats just their stupid policy :12: ....they still believe that they have 4 fast bowlers. they expect a spinner to play 1 match and get 5 wickets.

the jackass commentator maurice foster and robert samuels (both jamicans) were actually laughing when amit took some stick from symonds. :(

They kept finding fault on amit bowling in the first innings. saying he is bowling too short. :12:

but when donkey powell was bowling shitt in the first innings they kept their trap shut...he is a fellow jamican. :12:

Amit is the best spinner in the caribbean for the last 4 years :19:

remember morton made a valuable 60 odd in the first innings :19:

He did, and he played well for it. But a Test average of 23 is very poor.

10.05am Chris Gayle is not playing - Ramnaresh Sarwan will captain again. "Not a lot of grass on it," Ponting says, who won the toss and chose to bat, "and you can be sure it'll lose a lot of pace and bounce later in the game." Michael Clarke, back from compassionate leave, is in for Brad Hodge

10.00am Ricky Ponting has won the toss and will have a bat - but not just yet: it's been drizzling and the outfield's too wet to start on time.

There is a crowd of about 12 out there. One of whom is blowing a conch, as you'd expect - cricinfo

edwards slips as he was about to deliver.....hope he is not injured

That was the MOTHER of all slips!! If he escapes injury, he's a lucky boy!

Here's Edwards from the Media Centre end. And in he comes - but where's the ball? Edwards is down and out. He sprinted in and lost his footing, sliding into his delivery stride with his right ankle giving way. Ouch - that looks horrible. This isn't looking too good, and the physio's giving him some treatment while Edwards tentatively puts weight on the ankle. The good thing for him is Edwards didn't put all his weight on it - it was a "soft" slide, if that makes sense, and he's going to continue...albeit a bit tentatively. So here he comes for a second attempt...

Big blow for West indies not to have gayle. Marshall is a walking wicket from what ive seen so far of him. Good to see jerome taylor back for west indies there attack looks to have some potency to it altough the wicket looks pretty placid!

Hope Katich is dismissed or at least left unconscious by a bouncer. Also hoping Johnson has another toothless performance, forcing the selectors to discard him. Other than that, should be another comfortable test victory to seal another series for us, something India havent managed to achieve for a while; win a test series.

hope marshall makes duck......blatant jamican bias :12:

smith should not have been dropped :20:

Come on Krapich, do something to make me praise you son! Do not fail me again!

Come on Krapich, pretend you're facing the hacks from South Australia or Qld...

baaah ... horrible toss to lose for the windies.

2-0 Australia

God these Windies bowlers are depressing after growing up watching Garn, Ambrose and Walsh. These guys are midgets! Edwards and Taylor are lucky to be more than 5ft tall. They make Phil Tufnel look physically intimidating. That said, com'on guys, knock Krapich's head off!

all the tall boys have taken up basketball......

better financially 4 them

So far cricinfo is suggesting no help for fast bowlers. And no spinner in team

Really necessary to flood the thread with score updates? Or is that common practice here?

flood?......who is flooding? :20:

but isnt this what this is about? updating for those who may not be seeing it? :20:

Why is Chris Gayle not playing in this test match?

Too busy not caring probably. I don't think he's good for the Windies team anyway. Very lazy, nonchalant character, and poor in the field. Would have to be the least inspiring captain in the world. They should make Bravo captain if they had any sense, he never gives you the impression that he couldn't try any harder.

God these two are a good reason to 'watch' cricket on the radio. Krapich is the most boring batsman since Boycott, and Jaques has the ugliest technique bar Dhoni.

good thing im watching on the radio :D

The Windian coms on tele are alright. Especially Bishop and Cozier. Blewett however is a complete dolt without a considered thoght in his numb little head. Failed on the field, fails off it. Why isn't Damien Fleming getting a gig?

Because he's earning 12 months wages in 1 month at the IPL.....he's on right now!

Common practice mate.

This is Krapich's highest Test score in 3 years I think! Gratz on the 19!

14.3 Bravo to Jaques, OUT, got him! A full delivery cutting back into the left hander who's trapped in the crease, and up goes the finger!
PA Jaques lbw b Bravo 17 (47b 2x4 0x6) SR: 36.17

Aus 36-1 after 14.3 overs

dumbox selectors dropped the best spinner in the caribbean...attack looking to one dimentional...says the commentators

Well it was hitting MIDDLE, and it struck his back leg.

Plenty of doubt if you're an Aussie:)

If it were an Indian or a Pakistani they would have asked for the umpire to be removed :)

I don't see the point in 5 quicks. Especially when they're all right-arm seamers.

51-1

I can hear a few more people in the statdium.

Apparently, fans arent happy with the new location - its a bit of a trek to get to compared to the old one.

it is in a very remote area in antigua unlike the arg which is in st johns

Ponting 20 off 26
Krapich 20 off 56

This is the Geoff Boycott version of Krapich out there. Which I am totally fine with as long as he stays there till lunch at least, and maybe tea.
