I was watching it live and it was even better. Boy, did Jerome Taylor bowl beautifully or what.

Taylor only reaching 90mph has rattled England?

sidebottom anearly edgin it

He's getting swing and movement. That's going to trouble anybody. If you're bowling 100mph but getting no movement or creating no variation you're basically just a nets bowling machine.

He was hitting about 85-88mph to be fair. He was bowling within himself which is what every bowler should do. At the pace he was bowing, it was quick with a slight inward movement. There was no swing, it was a bit of seam movement if you want to call it that. The other good thing he was doing was bowling straight with a hard new ball unlike the English bowlers who were bowling outside off stump. On a pitch like this, it was best to ball straight especially with the way the ball was keeping low. To Taylor's credit, it was a great exhibition of fast bowling and all the wickets he took were wicket taking balls.

How can anyone not like the Windies side? :O The way they celebrate after every wicket, and the ridiculous amount of flair in their lineup leads me to believe they're probably the most loved side around the world.

I really thought England was a decent outfit when they played against South Africa. I even thought they would beat Australia convincingly. Looking at this performance which probably is the worst from England in a long time, i think they will once again start as underdogs against Australia.

7 hours to go, really excited by this series, probably the only one along with a few others on this forum. I really reckon we will show England a surprise or two. Only downer being the timezone, will probably only catch the end of days play in the morning. However after the frustrating rain in NZ, test cricket is back for the WI at home.

My West Indian first test team

1. Gayle
2. Richards
3. Sarwan
4. Marshall
5. Chanderpaul
6. Nash
7. Ramdin
8. Taylor
9. Benn/Jaggernauth
10.Powell
11.Edwards

Surprise, hell yeah that surprised me, and the timezone was a downer, next test I'm staying up all night! I hope this test is a sign of us playing well and not England playing poorly. We'll see in the future games.

Suleiman Benn made the difference. Its not often you find a WI spinner bowling so many overs. He was getting a lot of turn, bounce and he was using arm ball to good effect as well. Helped create pressure at one end.

commiserations - I believe last time England felt this way was at the hands of Ambrose and Walsh, with Atherton incharge :(

I JUST saw the scorecard. Well done West Indies.

England :)))

In PP terms, this is classed as a Right Royal Phainti.

This is worse. WI were not ranked 7th in the world in those days!

This is brilliant - I was hoping for the Windies to pummel England BUT didnt actually expect it to happen

The look on KP's face was priceless :))) :))) :)))
