Imagine what Narine will do in this pitch

these American desi crowds dont have even one decent chant....need to learn from their cousins across the pond
Beats me now what made Ashwin bowl those garbage leg spins yesterday? He stuck to orthodox bowling and look so well he bowled. He sometimes over try and yesterday was prime example. Hope he never repeats those leg spins again
He didn't stick to orthodox bowling today. Bowled a lot of carroms to righties.
Pitch gripped a bit today.
His leg spins are surprisingly coming off well dude. Not big spin but there is bounce and a touch of spin.
Last game he gave away 4 sixes in which 3 of them were in the arc balls. Once he stops bowling in the arc (which he didn't do today), his leg spin will become a decent backup option.
2-3 years back, his leg spins were pure crap. Now its ok. Won't be surprised if he uses the leg spins as a way to wade through tougher periods in LOI and tests in the future. Needs more accuracy though.
Yes but he does not have much control on his leg spin...very Tendulkar like
Against right hand batters he should continue to bowl these carrom balls, floaters and off spin. He is deadly when he does those.

Has the pitch/venue been changed? I expected India to win today to set up the decider, but this looks to have been too easy for them. It's raining now but India just need 3 more overs.
Yeah......I would personally prefer if he has control over carroms cos that's a solid option.
Maybe he doesn't have as much control over carrom which is why he is trying leg spin.
Tendulkar had some insane leg spin skills. Turned it a mile. Little accuracy but when he got it right, it was crazy good. Ashwin bowls leggies without much turn. Just bounce. But better accuracy than Tendulkar in the limited deliveries he bowled.
Let's see how his leggies shape up.
Why is entire BCCI there for these meaningless T20s? :
Don't think other players know that he actually has a leg spin. He is tall so he can bowl bad balls and kinda get a way with that extra bounce. Wonder he still doesn't have the backspin.
Tendulkar bowled on rank turners on 4th and 5th day. Tendulkar did pretty well for someone who bowled all kinds of bowling for a batsmen who bowled sometimes.
Pitch same.
Got worn out.
Gripped a bit.
No decider.
Should win cos its a passing shower they say.
But rain can save WI AGAIN too.
Are there only 2 matches?
1. Is backspin only for legspin or its used in off spin also?
2. Tendulkar had a mean leggie for most tracks except pattas. Till 2003-04, he had several games where his stats would read like 8-0-38-2......or 10-0-42-3 kind of stuff. But no accuracy so its was a hit or miss. But there was a period when he was a reliable part timer.
3. Which do you think is easier to execute for Ashwin? Carroms or leggies? Will Ashwin's leggies amount to anything (as a side bit)?
Anyone can bowl a backspinner/slider. In fact it is actually much more easier for an offie to bowl. Yasir shah picks most of his wickets with his slider. Mushtaq calls it the "Teesra". He picked up Sachin with that delivery during that legends match in US.
Cause he bowled with lots of side spin and he was exceptional for someone who isn't an all rounder but someone who can just rolls his arm. Part time spinners are actually annoying to face as sometimes you can't read their turn based on the seam position. Generally, when a genuine spinner bowls, the more cross the seam is, more turn he'll get. But when someone like Raina bows, doesn't matter how horizontal the seam is, it'll only turn an inch or two so it becomes difficult to pick how much the ball will turn. Since these bowlers won't generate dip, they just vary their length all the time. It is easier to smash part timers than play safe with them or look to score singles and get of strikes. Every part timer should be attacked, those who turns less or more, often times they won't have much up their sleeves to run away. So next time Dhoni brings Raina to bowl right after fall of few wickets in succession, there is a strategic reason.
It depends on what is easier for him. Batsmen probably had started picking his carrom ball and that is why he probably introduced his leg spin. I don't think it would hurt for him to bowl couple of leg spin here and there. I don't recommend him to bowl one leg break every over.
Interesting. Thanks.
So which offies have bowled the backspin delivery?
Also isn't the offie/slow left armer equivalent of slider...the arm ball?
They call it the Armball, most of orthodox off spinners used to bowl it and it comes very quickly, lands much closer than it appears initially and it drifts away to a right handed batsmen. But arm ball doesn't come quick as backspiner/slider. Yuvi, Dilshan used to bowl good arm balls. Dilruwan perera and Herath bowl armball. But none of them really tried bowling back spinner. There is a thing called "Cricketing culture". Basically it has been decided that Backspinner/slider is a Leg Spinner's weapon and therefore no one tries to bowl it in off spin. One says something and then every other commentator and the cricket fans that hear it believe and start following it as it has been mentioned. For example, Kusal Perera had already mentioned that he didn't try to copy Sanath but somehow a story was created and that now it is widely believed that Kusal's became a left handed batsman because he wanted to become like Sanath. And people like Russel keep bringing it up time to time.
Apart from Saqlain, I used to bowl Teesra in high school days, I called it "Kottai ball" after it hit batsmen in his you know where while he bated without wearing an abdominal guard lol. I bowled lot of things with no aim lol.
