The 2nd Test between West Indies and New Zealand starts on Jun 16-20, 2014 the match will be played in Port of Spain.

The West Indies have called up uncapped batsmen Jermaine Blackwood and Leon Johnson to their squad for the 2nd test against New Zealand.

The Second Test of the 1st day to be played today at Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad.

Match scheduled to begin at 10:00 local time (14:00 GMT | 15:00 BST | 16:00 CEST | 19:00 PST)

Marlon "Quicker Ball" Samuels has been axed I see.

Expect a heavy 3 day defeat. NZ is on the rise, Windies are in decline, although they have not yet reached rock bottom like England did over the winter.

Sensational logic from Windies camp. Drop the off spinner averaging 32 and take a left arm spinner averaging 42 against a top order featuring primarily southpaws.

Not even 1 crowd. Also hardly any interest in this series. Just look at Pakpassion statistics on 5th day alone on England-Sri Lanka. Has over 160 comments and nearly a 1000 views whereas this entire West-New match not even close lol

NZ 198/6

Still back them to win though. West Indies havent put in a decent batting performance in ages. God help them when Shiv retires

NZ | 8/210

Benn strikes to remove Southee for 10.

Ross Taylor still at the crease with unbeaten 40.

Jerome Taylor with 4 wickets.

NZ | 9/215

9 down now, Gabriel strikes.

Ross only standing at the crease with running out partners here!

NZ 221 in 1st innings so best chance for WI to capitalize and level series but saying that they have already lost Gayle.

If they score 300 than I would think they have a good chance to win

The moon landing had a great television audience. I think the moon should host test matches.

Boult and Southee are the best pairing in test cricket along with Johnson and Harris.

Reminded me of Shane bond. Would have loved to see Dale steyn and Shane bond together.

Beauty of a leg break by Sodhi gets the breakthrough.

Don't know why McCullum persisted with Neesham and Craig so long while they were getting pasted.

West Indies trail by 83 runs with 7 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

rain halts the game.

I watched some of Trent Boult's bowling to the Windies openers, what a spell it was, moving the ball both ways and beating the bat with ease.

Brathwaite 100* :14:
meanwhile Bravo is speeding his way to a 100 too, scoring at 75 odd strike rate
Neeshams bowling average is fighting with his batting average.

West Indies pretty much destroying NZ here...Two batsmen on 100s with one casually hitting 6s.

The WI selectors have FINALLY put Blackwood and Brathwaite on the team, two players who have been doing well domestically and who angry fans have been screaming to be on the team for the past 18 months. And with Taylor and Roach now fit, the WI have their best pace attack since Ambrose/Walsh.

Gayle and Samuels need to go permanently. The West Indies have a strong team if they play these 11:

1. Braithwaite
2. Simmons/Dwayne
3 Edwards
4. Darren Bravo
5 Blackwood/Pollard
6. Chanderpaul
7. Ramdin
8. Narine/Badree/Benn
9. Holder/another pacer
10. Taylor
11. Roach

Our poor first innings display will probably cost us this Test.

These days, pretty much every WI bat is a nightwatchman.

NZ can bounce back. They can fight and draw this and the next game and still get a series win.

Things could be worse, we could have lost to India C at home.

Good fight back from W.I they need to get lead over 150+ with shiv still there and can then look to force a win and level the series.

WI should bat till 2pm local time. Shiv needs to be atypical and bat fast. WI will need more than 2 days to bowl NZ out I think.

Decent lead is crucial. We all know how hard it is to bat at Queen's Park Oval in the 4th innings. You get variable bounce and spin too. Don't want to be chasing more than 200.

WI can't lose this test match now if they get a 250 plus lead it will be hard for Nzl to save the match
