West Indies v Pakistan | 1st Test | Sabina Park, Kingston | Apr 21-25, 2017 | Day 1

Chase and Dowrich batted a full day to save a Test against India on a flat pan cake..

50 odd overs into a test series and people are already writing off poor Yasir Shah. Give the guy a break.

You can tell who watches test cricket and who has it on in the background while they're having a whinge on PP.

And some PP experts said Wahab is our best test pacer :)))

It's the first innings of a test match, Yasir or any other leggie is not expected to run through a side.

Pakistan still in a good position, a wicket here and the rest could go quickly.

Since Yasir's debut, Pakistan hasn't won a single test matvh in which Yasir Shah hasn't performed well.

Pakistan are still choking the run rate even though they are not taking wickets anymore.

Pakistan are bowling really well here. Even Wahab has been decent. Shah is getting some drift in which will only help him more. My only issue is that these batsmen pose no threat yet Misbah is still way too defensive with his field. Get in more slips for the faster men and someone patrolling for the hook. For Shah, get in close in fielders on both sides of the track. No point is just havin some one in on leg.

The Windies are only scoring release shots here, having to risk it just to get runs. Make that risk even less worthwhile. Misbah is grinding them down, now turn in the screws.

Nobody is choking. It's funny how many keyboard warriors we have here.

The pitch is a pudding and very very easy to bat on. We just have to build pressure or wait till new ball.

It's sitting up..

Going into a game with only 4 bowlers is being quite defensive. I do not think that is the proper strategy against a WI side weakened by the absence of many of their best players.

I am surprised Mickey doesn't disagree with Misbah. Someone like him knows how test cricket works these days.

Everyone knows our batting is volatile enough that we can't afford to make a long tail even longer.

We don't really have too many players good enough to bat at 6 or 7 who is also better than a part-time bowler at test level. If the guys batting at 8 and 9 were good enough to hang around with a specialist batsman at the other end and contribute 20 runs of their own on a regular basis then I could see the logic in playing a fifth bowler but we can't really afford it right now.

I wouldn't mind tossing the ball to Azhar for three or four overs and see if he can make something happen before the new ball.

Roston Chase looks excellent off the back foot. This has been a terrific partnership.

Shane Dowrich is also looking well set. Definitely an upgrade on Denesh "talk nah" Ramdin. Should never have been dropped after the 2015 Australia series.

Having doubts about these speed-guns, one of Yasir's deliveries in this over was apparently 82 MPH. :srt

I wonder how the pitch is faring...Must be pretty flat now considering how well these two are playing.

Big Mac Like I said, Roston has us chasing this game. Was a bit of a pun, but it's turning out to be true. :usman
Edit: What timing! :srt
