hey infamous....away for both innings......wasn't interested in watching...thought it would be a thrashing by south africa


oh well.....as it looks now losing to bangladesh was a good thing.....this is the only world cup where I think the south africans aren't been treated as favourites...and almost expected to lose....the lack of pressure makes me feel very calm.......

I didn't even watch the bangladesh game....but when I heard we lost I wasn't surprised.....


...come on...this is south africa...we have to get terrible luck...or do something amazingly stupid every world cup...


hopefully this time it didn't happen in an important game...better to lose to bangladesh than england or west indies...who are the only 2 sides who can stop us getting to semi finals....


if we win today I dont think england have any chance of beating us.......their best player is a south african anyway....(he he)

besides...we'll wip new zealand like we always do......little midgets...
 
how come no one questions lara's capatincy? he's done stranger things, open bowling with Dwayane Smith, bowling bradshaw at the depth when he never bowled there before and taking power plays in the last 5 overs. I want to see the reaciton of ppers if inzi had done this.

Whether some of PP like it or not, Inzamam is actually one of our more successful captains.

Lara captaincy has been poor all the way thur the super 8s. some of the team selections have been poor as well. Today dropping jerome taylor and bowling bradshaw at death show that lara maybe a great player but an average skipper.

West indies have a decent attack...Taylor should always play...him and Powell make a good opening pair and gayle and the medium pacers do a sound job......


In Lara's defence....while south africa waited for the power play they were batting slowly......they would have got 350 no matter what happened really......


I just really , really feel for the West Indies....I hope they put up a good fight....(but don't win) ....

one thing for sure...these flat tracks have made S.A attack look toothless.......we should have brough a specialist spinner and a geniune quick bowler (Steyn/Morkel/Hayward) to mix it up .....


without pollock firing like always it really hurts us.....if west indies have anything positive for the rest of this game...it's that...

NRR is going to be very important so SA should look to crush the Windies
 
Pollock holds the key to this match. If he's getting swatted around like he was in CT against WI in October, than WI have a chance.

Funny that you say that since the Proteas looked pretty ordinary batting against the Aussies....
 
I dont want to worry about net run rate....if we go through on net run rate we have to play australia in the semi finals...


of course we'll beat them (australia) in the semis...and that will make the final against sri lanka and newzealand...which will be boring for me......I like those sides.....

So I want a final against australia...and that means to guarantee we avoid them we need to win all our next two games so we avoid them in the semis.....

I don't think you really follow cricket much lately. Maybe mommy did deny your internet access? NZ are in good form. In reality Aus are #1, NZ and SL will play for one semi-final and the 4th spot is between SA, Eng and WI.

To get that 4th spot, SA has to beat WI, Eng and NZ. It isn't that easy! Bangladesh beat SA with ease.

easy there, everything SA has, Aus have a better version of it plus they have a quality spinner. One thing SA might have an advantage over Aus is the big hitters, the likes of boucher,kemp,pollock down the order is deady as it gets.
 
Time for chris gayle to come to the party if west indies are to stay in it..!

if you watched we looked awesome batting for most of our innings...most people thought we'd make the score easy....


just one of those things....our plan for the middle order to smash the runs easy didn't work out....this is cricket...we know how it goes....these things happen ....


but we still scored almost 300 chasing the score...and was it us batting first without risks would have put up 350 against australia....which they would have struggled to chase down...

australia are crap......we talking about who's going to win the world cup....why even mention them ?

Good strategy. 1 thing though I think Bangladesh was an unknown for SA and hopefully was the "choke" for the WC. :)
 
JAF ....thats a given...but under certain circumstances (new zealand and sri lanka lose another game) ...we need only win 1 more and go ahead of them on run rate....but of course as i said I'd prefer we win all 3 of our games......


Everyone wants a south africa/australia final (from south african anyway) ....

Have you been watching the same WC as the rest of us ? It's really interesting how you disappeared when the Proteas were getting their lunch handed to them by the Bangladeshies.....And keep making your excuses, it isn't getting you anywhere in terms of making a solid argument....
 
and the australian team that lost to bangladesh was far better than the one now...and that bangladesh team was far worse........so your assertion that losing to bangladesh = being a crap team....then south africa is in pretty good company...
