West Indies 196

India 358/5 (125.0 ov)

India lead by 162 runs with 5 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

Need to play with better momentum today. Way too slow scoring on the second day means the Indian side has its task really cut out.

If Rahane gets out soon, they will anyhow get bowled out! No need to worry as there are 3 days left. West Indies batsmen cannot survive more than 1 1/2 days at the most on this pitch (or any pitch for that matter)

250 lead would be golden.

Heard pitch is getting harder and harder to bat.

Anyways, I am already bored with this series.

Good test for the lower middle order today. Also another test of Rahane's skills of working with lower order, has done that successfully in the past.

A lead of 250+ would be ideal and any lead of under 200 would be disappointing. Good day's cricket ahead

Such series will be vital practice for better things in future! At least the pitches in West Indies are always tough. We can't put this young Indian Team straight away against tough opponents. There are so many things that need to be fixed (we can't do this all on our own even in domestic cricket, we need an international opponent to work out against and WI is good enough!)

I can now understand why West Indies team used to be such a nightmare for all the teams (tough pitches, tough opponent!)

Welcome to test cricket.

Indeed.

I am a bit surprised the SIF mentioned being bored. Watching the game maybe sapping, but the series def is important. Players do not have a crushing mental load, but it is that kind of a series which ll allow us to see how nicely the new and rusty players are applying themselves in a legit international match.

Yeah, 3 days are left, but you never know about the weather in the Caribbean. Also, it is good that Rahane being presented with a situation. Let us hope he manages things with the tail.

These new stadiums built outside the city limits has killed traditional cricket audience from coming to the matches

India's head to head record against west indies will definitely improve after this series. :kohli

Won't be a very satisfying feeling if that happens. But then, the records have never told the stories in details ever.

So yeah..

Anybody knows where do we get the ETA for the match on cricinfo?

Why not? Didn't west indies win against weaker indian teams in 70's and 80's? Now its the opposite.

Arey maine kab mana kiya for the stats. I am not asking anybody to shed a tear or two for the weakened Windies.

Just that it would have been more rewarding had these people shown bit more of a fight.

Viewer point of view due to lack of competitiveness.

This series is defo important in the larger scheme of things.

Gabtiel has bowled so well without much rewards. Could easily have got 4-5 wickets on another day. Regularly hitting 90mph+, bowling with immaculate control.

Also, on speed, is he currently the fastest test bowler, must be averaging ckose to 90 mph. Has hit 93-94 mph a couple of times in this series

Saha should be getting out any time soon....

WI missing a trick by not employing a spinner against him, he be stumped in no time!

Average pace of around 88 mph. Similar to Starc. Although i've seen Starc bowl even quicker

Huge respect to Holder, one of the most intriguing spells and finally rewarded with a wicket. Big heart :afridi

i don't get these comments that Windies are showing no fight. They are playing very gritty test cricket over the last two days and would have bowled out most batting lineups by now. Outside of Rahul, everyone of the Indian batsmen has had to grind.

Anyone who thinks WI has restricted the Indians from scoring briskly .... just think about this. If the Indians win this match, and it looks that way, would it matter, 6 months from now, that they were restricted ???? The Indians are in no hurry to finish the match in 3.5 days .... no glory in that !!! So to grind the WI and take their sweet time to build a total, so that they won't have to bat again, is the only prudent thing to do / I am sure some of you will disagree with this ..... fair enough.

In the first Innings a R took a 5fer
Second innings Another R takes a 5fer
2Rs score centuries

Another R job coming up in 3Rd innings?

Haha....nish mate. Good one.

---

Rahane is yet to improve his spin game on big turners. Otherwise, he is golden,

Funny enough another R can queer the pitch for India and be the saviour for Windies

RAIN

That slow scoring might hurt us if this storm wipes out Day 4 & Day 5.

India needs at least 50 overs bundle out these West Indians.

good lead hope the rain stays away india can fancy a innings win by the end of 4th day
