Courage : To win you need to risk losing.

Just look at the declaration for this last test match.

They should learn that they have lost the plot by putting all their eggs in the basket or three players (Babar/Rizwan and Shaheen)

They are overrated superstars and Babar is a poor leader of men.

Babar could have batted himself at 3 knowing Azhar sets the worst tone for the side

1) openers need to play more shots.

2) Coaching...Imam, fawad, rizwan...all those wickets had a goof up. Fawad reviews, hence we lose Rizwan who is nervous about using the last review. Then Imam playing outside leg yeesh.

Nothing.
What Australians do require talent and mental strength and Pakistan have non of these two.

Interesting idea, with Azhar's time drawing to a close (Hopefully anyways) will Babar take up the responsibility or offer up someone else as the lamb.

Let's compare 11 vs 11

Warner > Imam (overall)
Khawaja > Imam
Smith > Azhar
Babar < Labu (just this series)
Head = Fawad
Carry = Rizwan
Green > Hasan
Lyon > Sajid
Swepson = Nauman
Starc > Shaheen
Cummins > Naseem

Overall we are nothing compared to them.

Mindset is Everything in Cricket, if you remove the fear of losing, good things happen automatically. Our neighbours India are a good example

What are you smoking mate? Carey>>>Rizwan

Carey played 2 clutch knocks for them

Especially at home you should really look to pin down the home advantage. It's blindingly clear that Pakistan took a safety first approach. And that is never good if you want to be a world champion.

I dont mind losing to this champion aussie side.

Biggest lesson: play positive specially in batting

Pakistan can't bank on a 3 man pace attack vs SENA teams regardless of the location. Our fast bowling is too weak compared to these sides.

Going forward it needs to be rank turners and leg spinners in every game. Forget drop in pitches from Australia, it's time to pick the brains of Indian curators.

Play series with intention to win. If don't have quality to do so away then at least at home.

Kohli identified the perfect formula for India's dominance at home. Spinning minefields, great new ball bowling by the pacers and reverse swing with the new ball. He has even lost a test match at home vs Australia and England but he not once drifted from his strategy. That is called being fearless and having immense self belief in your team.

The captain in Cricket is everything. Babar is a just not a natural leader and it is clear no matter how much time you give him with the ball, he is forever going to be timid. Need to give the job to someone with a real hunger to win.

In South Asian conditions if you dont have effective spinners you will not get 20 wickets. Only time Aus got 20 was when Lyon took 5. If Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan are our best spinners we will never beat the top teams. India, Aus, NZ.

Second lesson is, it's time to move on from Azhar and Fawad.

You cant take overall data for 1 player, and then series specific data for other players.

Babar and Rizwan are better than their counterparts. Shaheen is equal to Starc.

You think he will do that after cutting the cake last night for his 7k runs.. :asif

Shaheen is equal to Starc hahahahahahahahahaha :)))

Shadab Khan for Nauman Ali

Wasim JR for Hassan Ali

Zafar Gohar for sajid Khan

If only they can learn one thing they would not have lost the series I.e how to play quality fast bowling

Imran Khan interference in Cricket needs to be stopped. His obsession with less Teams in domestic cricket has destroyed cricket further. Six teams is good for the Population of Australia, it cannot be applied everywhere.

England and India have lot of teams but still they are among top teams. The pool of players coming out is very less.

PCB needs to foccuss on List A and first class cricket instead of PSL. Unless you get players who are good first class cricketers , cricket will continue to decline.

Test cricket is about finding the balance in team as well they want with 5 out of which 3 passenger bowlers and some out of form batters you just can't fill spaces

What we can learn?

Well

Australia payers were thorough professionals
Our players were a bunch of jokers (focus is more on celebration rather than performance) barring Babar, Riz, Shafiq and Shaheen

Pakistan should learn to respect but not get absolutely smitten by your opponent.

Pakistan is coming across as a country that has a massive crush on Australia. They want their coaches, their domestic structure, their drop-in pitches, their “fearless attitude”. Stop getting enamored by Australia and carve out your own identity.

They can learn a lot from them, starting from field placing, bowling changes, how to use reverse swing..

how to attack the new batsman. how to attack the spinner when brought into bowl fresh (coming forward, hit a six, sweep, unset the rhythm)

Babar should know if he has to win, he has to be bold enuf and choose players on merit ,ability and performance and give away the friendship tag and tackle the senioriity clout..

Unfortunately he is a kitten that pleases his masters and seniors..

This friends 11 team has been long cultivated , which needs a strong coach like Andy Flower than these little bhai beta bhai captains to untie it...

Fear of failure, fear of changes , shell shell shell, need a sledgehammer to break that f***ing shell...

thats because one mans love for Australia.. Had he win the world cup in England, then things would have been different i guess..

Plenty.

But whether they will take on board any of these lessons is another matter.

How to reverse swing the ball and spin th eball from rough. Something we were experts of in 80s and 90s.

Plenty.

No lessons will be learnt with current chairmen, chief selector and captain all 3 are spineless.

Let me test posters knowledge of Pakistan cricket history.

Only one Pakistan captain made Cummins like declaration in a away series and ended up winning the test, who was that captain ?

Was it Mushtaq Muhammad ?

Yes, it was 1978-79 test series in NZL, Mushtaq declared the inning on 4th day , giving NZL a target of 305 to win with time after tea on 4th day and all of 5th day to bat. Mushtaq and Wasim Raja bowled them all out for 176 . Pak won the series 1-0 .

The OdI lesson which we can learn from Aus are
Strike Rotation
Pressure Handling
Death bowling
New ball swing
Power hitting
Fielding

In even T20 WC Sf aus kept on losing wickets but they never panicked and ultimately won it we are bottlers 2nd after Sa
