PTI ‘shaky’ on talks after snub from Imran

Senior Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser on Friday stated that the party had not yet initiated dialogue with the government and talks could be held only after the acceptance of three demands, including release of former prime minister Imran Khan and other party activists and constitution of a judicial commission comprising senior Supreme Court judges to probe violent May 9 and Nov 26 incidents.

Speaking on a point of order in the National Assembly after registering strong protest over the continued absence of the ministers from the proceedings for a third consecutive day, Mr Qaiser refuted reports in media and political circles that the PTI had begun talks with the government following his meeting with Speaker Ayaz Sadiq.

“I want to make a clarification. The media has been reporting since yesterday that [govt-PTI] dialogue is taking place and my meeting with the speaker is being referred to in this connection,” he said, clarifying that he had gone there only to condole with the speaker over the demise of his sister and not to hold any dialogue.

Mr Qaiser, who had served as the NA speaker under the previous PTI government, said they had formed a committee for dialogue, but the committee would proceed under the guidance of Imran Khan only when the government would show seriousness.

The clarification from Mr Qaiser came a day after incarcerated founding chairman of the PTI Imran Khan expressed his displeasure over the party leadership for adopting a ‘positive’ posture in parliament and showing readiness to hold talks with the government.

He was also reportedly angry over the party leadership for not lodging a protest inside the National Assembly and the Senate when the two houses met for the first time after the alleged killing of the party workers due to firing of the personnel of the law enforcement agencies during the D-Chowk protest on Nov 26.

Talking to reporters at Adiala Jail during the hearing of Toshakhana case, Mr Khan had stated that the PTI leaders should not have given an impression of a friendly opposition.

On the opening day of the National Assembly’s winter session on Tuesday, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan while asking the government to hold those accountable who had allegedly opened fire on the PTI protesters had asked the government to forget the past and move forward to rectify mistakes.

Despite announcing that it would lodge a strong protest inside the parliament house over, what it called, the Islamabad massacre, the PTI had preferred to participate in the assembly proceedings in an orderly manner without creating any trouble for the ruling coalition.

Mr Qaiser said that their demands were very simple, adding that a judicial commission led by SC judges should be formed to investigate the incidents of May 9 and Nov 26 to fix responsibility.

The PTI leader said the constitution granted the right to protest to every political party, but his party was being denied this right on the pretext of a new law barring protests in Islamabad. He said this law was against fundamental rights and thus “illegal”.

“Why bullets were fired?” he asked while alleging that 12 PTI workers were ‘martyred’ on Nov 26 allegedly due to firing by security forces. He asked the government to produce evidence that the PTI protesters were violent.

Highlighting the alleged victimisation of the party, the former speaker said there was no respect for human rights in Punjab, which was “virtually under a martial law”.

He alleged that those arrested on Nov 26 were being implicated by the Punjab police in cases related to May 9 incidents. He said they did not support provincialism, but whosoever was doing it were conspiring against the country. He alleged that Pakhtun ‘community was being targeted’. Amid slogans of “shame, shame”, he said Islamabad had been made a “no-go area” for Pakhtuns.

Mr Qaiser also lashed out at the federal government for “lack of interest in addressing the deteriorating situation in Kurram and Parachinar”, saying the residents near the border had lost their livelihoods.

“Stop sowing seeds of hatred. Such behaviour is emboldening anti-state elements and causing irreparable harm to our nation” besides increasing sense of deprivation among the people of KP.

While addressing a presser at the residence of PkMAP chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai after a meeting of the joint opposition, Mr Qaiser resented the Supreme Court’s decision to allow military courts to continue trial of civilians in the May 9 cases and said the party was consulting lawyers to challenge the verdict.

Press conference

Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan said Imran Khan had expanded the dialogue committee by adding two more members and threatened that the party would give the call for civil disobedience if its demands were not met.

Earlier, the lawmakers protested over the absence of the ministers from the NA during the question hour for a third consecutive day forcing Deputy Speaker Ghulam Mustafa Shah to once again defer the questions.

Mr Shah deplored the situation and informed the members that they had already sent a letter to the prime minister to seek his intervention to ensure ministers’ presence. Previously, Mr Shah had given the ruling that the assembly proceedings would not be held if ministers would not be present in the house.

The NA will now meet on Monday evening.

No compromise on dignity: PTI

Meanwhile, PTI Senator Aon Abbas Bappi regretted the comments from the treasury benches that the ground realities had forced PTI to agree for talks.

He said PTI’s readiness for dialogue must not be misconstrued as its weakness.

He said PTI’s incarcerated founder had expressed readiness to hold dialogue in the greater national interest and it must be seen positively. He said talks will only be held on the basis of respect. “We will never compromise on our dignity,” he remarked.

Aon Abbas also warned that the ‘racial profiling’ would only weaken the federation. He regretted that holding a CNIC from KP and cities such as Mianwali and Attock had become a crime, as such people were being arrested for no reason.

The parliamentary leader of BAP in Senate, Manzoor Kakar, in his speech, chided PTI for seeking a dialogue with the military establishment. There was a time the PTI leadership used to frequently praise the then army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa, he said, adding that same would be the case if the incumbent army chief starts behaving with them.

PTI condemns trial of civilians in military courts

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram Monday condemned the trial of civilians in the military courts, terming it a violation of international laws.

Talking to the media, Akram stated that all legal options would be pursued to challenge the military trials. He also vowed to thwart the government’s alleged conspiracy to ruin the economy.

Referring to the Al-Qadir Trust case, Akram questioned the delay in its judgment. “We want to know why the decision has been postponed. We fail to understand where this judgment is being written. This is a case of acquittal, and there is nothing in it,” he declared, describing the £190 million case as a blatant example of political rivalry.

The PTI information secretary accused the government of being willing to override international laws in its pursuit of muting political opponents. “The government has gone to extreme lengths of revenge, aiming to eliminate its rivals,” he alleged.

Akram further noted that the £190 million case, which he claimed was designed to punish former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, was now being debated internationally as an example of political persecution.

PM Shehbaz says govt still willing for talks with PTI

Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif said the government is still willing to hold talks with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) with sincerity and seriousness to resolve the issues.

Addressing the federal cabinet, PM Shehbaz said the government provided a conducive environment for negotiations with the PTI but the party is ‘running away and avoiding’ entering dialogue process.

He said the seriousness and sincerity of the government to hold talks with PTI can be judged from the fact that we constituted a committee with Speaker Ayaz Sadiq in the chair for this purpose. He said PTI did not attend the meeting on 28th of this month and terminated the talks unilaterally.

“A committee was formed, and extensive talks took place as per their demands,” he said. “A final meeting was scheduled for January 28 in response to their written request, yet they withdrew at the eleventh hour.”

The prime minister said the country cannot afford any kind of unrest and anarchy. He said dialogue is the only way to proceed further and put the country on path of development.

New Pandora box opened in PTI about Swabi public gathering

A new Pandora box has been opened within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) regarding the Swabi public gathering, as revelations surface about 90 per cent of the party officials spreading false information about the event.

According to details, a leaked audio from PTI's provincial official, Junaid Akbar, has unveiled new claims. In the recording, Akbar stated that he holds detailed reports, including specific information about individuals involved.

He claimed to know exactly who said what regarding the rally, naming MPs, MNAs, and other officials who misrepresented statistics.

Akbar expressed his frustration, stating that those who spread false information should be ashamed of themselves.

He also mentioned that he would forward the reports to the party founder, Imran Khan, and that he even knew what clothes some attendees were wearing at the event.

Akbar further revealed that some party officials had sent him videos from Islamabad and other programmes.

He expressed disdain for these actions, calling those involved naïve. Akbar firmly asserted that he would not support any wrongdoers and that he would not back anyone who spread lies, regardless of their status within the party.

He mentioned that holding a position within the PTI was neither a desire, necessity, nor obligation for him and stated he would be happy to have the responsibility taken away.

He also mentioned the unfortunate rise of internal factions within the party, with support given to the wrong people.

"My commitment is to not support any wrongdoer, no matter how big they may be. If I cannot stand by my principles, I will leave my position. One person cannot expel ten others and make decisions like that. Only those who work for the party will rise. I will support such people," he concluded.

PTI's internal conflict escalates as Junaid Akbar exposes misleading claims and pledges to support only those committed to the party's true cause.

PTI gets positive response for political alliance: Faisal Ch

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - We are getting positive response from opposition parties. As per the agenda of Imran Khan, we are uniting all political forces, said PTI lawyer Faisal Chaudhry while appearing on Dunya News programme ‘TONIGHT With Samar Abbas’ here on Saturday.

The PTI leader said JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman demanded no share in KP government. He added that restrictions were being imposed on meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan with the aim of obstructing the formation of opposition alliance.

“We want to ‘restore’ the Constitution. We need to create political atmosphere in and out of the parliament.

“Political alliance is always sensitive. Solo flight will be harmful for the PTI. JUI-F and PTI have their own demands. But Maulana Fazlur Rehman did not demand any share in KP government.

“Internal fight in PTI is not an issue. Our meetings with PTI founder have been banned,” Faisal Chaudhry said.

PTI’s Faisal Javed offloaded from Saudi Arabia-bound flight

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Faisal Javed was offloaded from a Saudi Arabia-bound flight despite having permission from the Peshawar High Court (PHC) to travel for Umrah, ARY News reported.

The PHC had earlier directed the relevant authorities to temporarily remove Javed’s name from the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL) and Exit Control List (ECL).

Javed was scheduled to depart for Umrah at 3 pm, but was stopped at the airport. Despite showing the court order, airport authorities refused to let him board the flight. Javed alleged that the government failed to remove his name from the list despite the court’s order.

Javed’s lawyer, Advocate Alam Khan Adenzai, had argued in court that his client’s name was included in the PNIL without justification, preventing him from traveling for Umrah.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, Asad Qaiser, Sheikh Rasheed, Faisal Javed, were acquitted in a case related to violating Section 144.

The case was filed on August 20, 2022, at the Aabpara Police Station, accusing the former Prime Minister and his party members of violating Section 144 imposed by the authorities.

Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mehmood announced the decision after reviewing the acquittal plea and acquitted Saifullah Niazi, Sadaqat Abbasi, and Ali Nawaz.

IHC stays arrest warrants for PTI secretary general Salman Akram

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended the arrest warrant for PTI Secretary General Barrister Salman Akram Raja on Monday and sought a response on his petition from relevant parties within two weeks.

The petition, submitted with certain objections from registrar’s office, was taken up for hearing by the IHC division bench comprising acting chief justice Sardar Mohammad Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Mohammad Asif.

When the PTI leader appeared before the bench to plead his case, Justice Dogar inquired about the allegations against him. Barrister Raja responded that he was accused of being involved in an attack on a police station.

With a smile on his face, the acting chief justice remarked, “So you should not do such a thing. Then, you know, it is said about you that you talk a lot.”

Mr Raja expressed surprise over the issuance of arrest warrant for him despite his regular court appearances. He cited SC’s ruling in Sughra Bibi case as a precedent, arguing that issuance of non-bailable arrest warrant was “unwarranted”.

The court noted the seriousness of the matter and assured that the objection from the registrar’s office would be removed, scheduling the next hearing for Wednesday upon the petitioner’s request.

Highlighting irregularities in the case, Barrister Raja argued that an FIR had been registered against 100 individuals, whose whereabouts remained unknown. Despite this, the authorities were actively investigating and issuing warrants.

Following the initial arguments, the court suspended the arrest warrant and issued notices to the relevant parties.

Earlier during the hearing, the court inquired about the deputy attorney general’s presence before the bench. Later, when Assistant Attorney General Usman Ghuman appeared before the bench, Justice Dogar emphasised that the court order must be implemented.

The hearing was subsequently adjourned for two weeks, with directions for all parties to submit their responses within the given time frame.

Bail granted

Separately, the court of judicial magistrate Ahmed Shehzad Gondal granted bail to nine PTI workers, who were arrested in connection with the Nov 26 protest, on a set of bail applications.

At the hearing, the counsel for the petitioners argued that the high court had already granted bail to other accused individuals in the same case. Citing Article 201 of the Constitution, he asserted that the court was legally bound to grant bail under similar circumstances.

None of the accused were arrested at the scene, he claimed, adding that they should be released forthwith as the police no longer required their custody for investigation.

Police get MPA’s custody

On the other hand, an ATC extended physical remand of a PTI member of the provincial assembly, elected from Swat, for another day in the Sangjani jalsa case.

MPA Ali Shah was produced before Judge Abual Hasanat Mohammad Zulqarnain, after the expiry of his two-day physical remand. The judge granted the request of the prosecution that sought an extension in custody for further investigation.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly lawmaker faces terrorism charges in a case registered at the Sangjani police station. The ATC directed the police to produce the MPA on Tuesday. In a separate case, registered at Islamabad’s Kohsar police station, the court granted him bail against a surety bond of Rs5,000 after reviewing arguments from both sides.

Court issues arrest warrants for PTI leaders in Azadi March cases

A district and sessions court on Tuesday issued arrest warrants for PTI leaders in the Azadi March cases.

Senior Civil Judge Muhammad Abbas Shah heard two cases related to the march, where PTI founder Imran Khan and others are nominated. None of the accused appeared before the court.

Due to their absence, the court issued arrest warrants for Ali Nawaz Awan, Raja Khurram Nawaz, and others.

The court could not hear arguments on the acquittal pleas, with Judge Abbas Shah stating that he would only consider the requests in the presence of the accused. The petitioners' lawyer argued that in previous cases, Imran Khan was acquitted despite his absence.

The hearing was adjourned until April 23.

Two cases against Imran Khan and others are registered at Kohsar Police Station.

Rift in PTI deepens as Speaker KP Assembly Babar Swati asked to resign

The rift within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has deepened as incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan has directed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati to step down, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

This development follows a recent move by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to de-notify Additional Advocate General Noroz Khan, amid reports of internal disagreements between Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur and central PTI leader Mohammad Atif Khan.

Speaking to the media after meeting with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail, senior PTI leader Azam Khan Swati said that he met the PTI founder along with two other individuals.

According to Swati, Imran Khan instructed that if the KP Committee investigating corruption allegations against party leaders reached a conclusion, then Speaker Babar Swati should resign.

Azam Swati also informed Imran Khan about the corruption issues in Mansehra and reassured him that Salman Akram Raja would not betray him.

Additionally, Swati discussed concerns regarding Junaid Akbar, President of PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the PTI founder. Swati said Imran Khan directed that Akbar’s appointments be immediately reversed.

PTI's Acting President Hammad Azhar resigns from party position

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab's Acting President Hammad Azhar resigned from his party post on Wednesday, following allegations from party leader Azam Swati.

Azhar announced his decision to step down from all party positions. In a statement issued regarding his resignation, Azhar said that Azam Swati had informed PTI founder Imran Khan that Aliya Hamza was facing obstruction in her work.

"When the PTI's founder inquired about the identity of the person causing the hindrance, Swati named me," Azhar added.

Azhar went on to say that he had asked Aliya Hamza whether she had ever faced any obstacles from him, to which she expressed surprise.

He said: "The solution to the issue was simple, as my powers had already been transferred to four regional presidents in June of the previous year."

"The organisation of my constituency had been carried out without my advice or consent," he said.

Azhar said that he had previously resigned twice, but both times his resignation had been rejected.

However, this time, he declared that his resignation was final. "As a worker, I will continue to serve my leader in the future," Azhar maintained.

He said that his resignation was irrevocable, and he would no longer seek any party position.

PTI turmoil deepens as party probes ex-minister Jhagra

PESHAWAR: Internal rifts within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have deepened as the party’s Internal Accountability Committee (IAC) launched a probe into former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa finance and health minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra, accusing him of financial mismanagement, governance lapses, and corruption.

According to the committee’s findings, The News reported, the former minister is alleged to have been involved in major financial irregularities, improper recruitment practices, and policy decisions that reportedly caused significant losses to the provincial government.

Jhagra, however, has firmly denied all accusations of financial misconduct, irregular appointments, and procurement violations. Calling the inquiry biased, baseless, and politically motivated, Jhagra accused the committee of conducting a targeted campaign to damage his reputation.

After years of scrutiny, the committee has failed to produce substantial evidence, instead resorting to vague accusations. He said that the campaign against him started when Imran Khan ordered his inclusion in the cabinet.

The committee’s report raises severe concerns regarding financial mismanagement during Jhagra’s tenure as finance minister. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reportedly defaulted multiple times on financial obligations under his leadership.

The committee has sought an explanation for the recurring defaults and their impact on governance. The report alleges that Rs36 billion was withdrawn from the Pension and Gratuity Account but was never recovered.

The funds were allegedly transferred without proper scrutiny from the Finance Department, despite Jhagra’s position as the provincial finance minister. The committee questions whether this constituted a conflict of interest and if he exercised due diligence in governance

Jhagra is accused of hiring a disproportionately large number of employees, including relatives. The report claims that many of these employees resigned soon after securing long-term employment benefits, raising concerns about the manipulation of hiring policies.

The province remained in debt throughout his tenure, with no significant efforts made to reduce financial liabilities. The committee questions what strategies, if any, were implemented to improve the financial situation.

The committee has flagged loans given by a financial institution to various entities. The report questions the appointment of the financial institution’s managing director in violation of recruitment rules.

The Anti-Corruption Establishment is reportedly conducting an inquiry into this appointment. The committee alleges that Jhagra’s long-term financial strategies resulted in a large number of dead projects, further wasting public funds.

As the former health minister, Jhagra also faces allegations of corruption and mismanagement in healthcare projects, particularly in the Sehat Card Program, medical equipment procurement, and COVID-19 relief efforts. Several hospitals were removed from the Sehat Card Program for failing to meet minimum quality standards.

The committee claims that Jhagra never rectified the situation or provided a comprehensive explanation for these exclusions. The financial records show that during his tenure, Rs3.2 billion was spent on Sehat Card services despite a reduction in operational costs to Rs2.25 billion. The committee has demanded a justification for the increased spending despite lower operational expenses.

The committee accuses Jhagra of purchasing body scanner machines at inflated prices, leading to a waste of public funds. The National Accountability Bureau has reportedly initiated an inquiry into the procurement process, though no conclusions have been reached.

Additionally, the scanners were never commissioned or used for public services, rendering the investment useless. The report highlights irregularities in the procurement and distribution of COVID-19 relief materials.

It alleges that essential medical equipment remained unutilised, ultimately leading to wastage. Additionally, UN-donated contraceptives were allegedly left to expire at Karachi instead of being distributed for public use. The committee has demanded a justification for these losses.

The committee has questioned Jhagra’s affiliations with two foreign organisations, seeking clarification regarding his involvement with these entities and any potential conflicts of interest. The committee has formally sought explanations from Jhagra.

Responding to the accusation, Jhagra said that all major financial decisions were taken at the cabinet level and were not unilateral. He argued that KP’s financial crisis was a result of federal funding delays rather than mismanagement at the provincial level.

On the allegation that he appointed close relatives and associates to key positions, including the appointment of a managing director in violation of recruitment policies, Jhagra challenged the committee to present proof of unlawful hiring. He maintained that all recruitments were conducted through due process.

Addressing concerns that several hospitals were removed from the Sehat Card Program due to non-compliance and that expensive medical equipment, including MRI scanners, was procured at inflated rates, Jhagra defended the program as one of the most impactful health initiatives in KP’s history.

He acknowledged that some hospitals had to be delisted but said this was necessary to maintain service standards. He also denied any wrongdoing in medical procurements, stating that price fluctuations were due to market conditions, especially during the COVID-19 crisis.

Regarding allegations that essential COVID-19 relief materials, including contraceptives sent by the UN, were wasted due to bureaucratic inefficiencies, Jhagra said the delays in distribution were an administrative issue rather than intentional mismanagement.

PTI leadership takes note of infighting, asks groups to exercise restraint

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president Junaid Akbar Khan on Saturday said that the party’s leadership had taken notice of infighting in the provincial chapter and directed groups to exercise restraint.

Talking to reporters at the PTI’s protest camp outside the provincial assembly’s building here, Mr Akbar said that the party’s political committee discussed the issue and issued instructions to both sides not to escalate the situation.

“Our political committee will soon take a decision on this matter, ensuring such a situation does not arise in future,” he said.

Currently, the ruling PTI’s KP chapter is facing a schism, with senior leaders at each other’s throats. A tug of war is under way between Speaker of the KP Assembly Babar Saleem Swati and former Senator Azam Swati, both from Mansehra district.

Also, former minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra is engaged in a war of words with the party’s internal accountability committee and has gone public with his response to the committee’s questionnaire issued to him about administrative and financial issues from the time when he held the finance and health portfolios.

In a related development on Friday, some senior PTI leaders demanded of the leadership to order an investigation into the statement of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, who declared them “conspirators” in a recent podcast. The demand came from former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and former minister Shahram Khan Tarakai, with another senior party leader, Kamran Khan Bangash, coming out in their support.

Mr Akbar also appealed to party leaders, involved in the infighting, to stop from attacking each other, saying such a conduct is inappropriate.

“Differences in political parties are a normal thing but all these issues should be discussed at proper forums,” he said, urging all leaders to be “on the same page as differences are not good for the party’s interests.”

The PTI leader also said no one in the party had any clout.

He said party workers were neither associated with Ali Amin Gandapur or him, and that they would back whosoever had the support of party founder Imran Khan.

“Since Imran Khan is the party’s pivot, such differences are unlikely to harm the party as people trust Imran,” he said.

Mr Akbar said he had differences with Gandapur when he was taking over the office of the party’s KP president but in line with Imran’s orders, both of them buried the hatchet.

When asked whether former minister Mohammad Atif Khan is being made the president of PTI’s Peshawar region and Sher Ali Arbab the general secretary, he said every leader had to make his own team and he was comfortable with his one. Both office-bearers were removed while Ali Amin was heading the party’s provincial chapter.

Regarding the removal of the chief minister, Mr Akbar said that Gandapur enjoyed the trust of the PTI founder, so there was “no merit to talk about his removal.”

He also asked PTI workers and leadership to wear black armbands from Monday to protest the federal government’s “excesses” against the party.

“We are facing state oppression and state terrorism,” he said.

The PTI provincial president directed party workers and leaders to prepare for a massive protest movement to be launched on the directives of Imran Khan.

He said the PTI would take to the streets if its founder, Imran Khan, gave a call for it.

They are useless.

Pakistan came out of this entire episode with flying colours without Imran Khan or his PTI.

You know things are bad for IK when even his long time backers are pleading with him to accept a deal with the army for his own greater good and for the good of the country.

They are useless.

Pakistan came out of this entire episode with flying colours without Imran Khan or his PTI.
This is a very poor post. Because of one common enemy, the entire population stood behind the armed forces. In times like this, internal differences are set aside.

Who are the Pakistani youth that both DG ISPR and the PM praised? Just weeks ago, the same youth were called digital terrorists, but now they are labeled as heroes. The X which was banned, could now be used without VPN etc, why? Because the rulers needed that assistance.

If you gather 100 random Pakistanis, I am sure 80 of them are Imran Khan supporters. We live in the west, enjoying comfortable lives with the freedom to say whatever we want. In Pakistan, you cannot say whatever you want. You can be kidnapped, your family members can be kidnapped, your business can be destroyed. Of course, people are afraid. And by the way, what happened in the last election? Who won it comprehensively?

Again, in a war-like situation, everyone will defend Pakistan. To say that PTI and Imran Khan are useless is essentially saying that 80% of Pakistanis are useless. That's not acceptable in this situation.

In times of war, everyone puts political differences and affiliation aside which is what all of us did. It is also time for every stakeholder in Pakistan to think and realize the reason why the enemy tried to attack us was they saw the level of political division and the deep rooted resentment the masses had over the army's antics in the last 3 years but to our credit, everyone put it aside when the country came under attack.

To the army's and governments credit, they too exhibited the common sense to lift the social media ban in the country and the overwhelming number of people who countered the social media propaganda from India were PTI and IK followers along with the social media activists of other parties.

On rare occasions like this everyone should celebrate coming together.

I compare and contrast the culture in the West i.e. USA, Canada, UK where the government and opposition goes at it during election season but after elections and when it comes to running the government, everyone respectfully works together and puts political slogans aside. This is something IK should learn from as well. Its all well and good saying chor, chor when refering to PML N, PPP during election campaigning but when the political system (no matter how flawed it is) allows them to win a few seats, Sindh government, whether you like it or not, you have to establish a working relationship with them for the greater good of the country. This was the Army's biggest frustration with him during his tenure and which is why they love Shahbaz Sharif because if there is one thing the guy is good at, it is buttering people and getting them to work together.
