Brilliant film! Acting by Dan Stevens was absolutely superb, top notch.

First 75 percent of the film was exceptional with a fantastic build up. Last 25 percent was weaker but still quite good.

Definite recommendation!!

8/10
I found the morphing from a suspense thriller to a Terminator style slasher film a bit jarring but Dan Stevens did a fine job as David. You might even spot the actress who played Anna as the lead in It Follows.

Yeah I was taken aback by how quickly the tone changed, but i must say some bits like the diner were brilliant! That said I would've preferred had the film stayed on its current path and not taken a massive detour near the end.

Yeah my brother spotted that, I'm not much for horror but I might check It Follows out, trailer looked good

Piku - 4/10. Dont understand why so many liked this movie. It is crap, literally. Ppl who have seen it will understand what I mean when I say literally.

Enjoyable story about two childhood friends turned enemies who are vying for a girl. Oh and it also has something to do with the girl messing around with a Ouija board and causing a lot of unnecessary headache for everyone. Directed by the dude who made the original Night of the Demons.

'Who Am I – No System Is Safe' (2014)

One of the only two or three German films that I watched, and boy it was worth it! What an awesomely thrilling film! It´s just full of thrilling moments and not for even a second loses its pace. A masterpiece in every sense.

10 out of 10!

You ever see run lola run? Its a short (80 min) German film I thought was quite good

Deranged movie this. Still reeling from this lol. They are reportedly coming out with 5 and 6. Mad Max:The Wasteland coming up next.

WHAT A LOVELY DAY!!!

'Frozen' (2013)

An animation film, watched at the behest of my eldest niece:)). Kids, ah´ they sure can make you do anything! Time makes me realise what my mother meant when she used to say to my and my siblings a few years ago the following, "When you people will have kids only then you will understand what all parents have to put up with."

But was a good film mind you. Never felt like it was boring or that I wasted my time.

Just to revisit this review, the film has a few flaws here and there, but it´s the fabulous end that makes you overlook and pretty much forget anything that might have come before it.

On my list. As always, the short length, too short perhaps in this case, length of the film means I am fascinated already and will give it five out of 10 already:D!

WHAT A LOVELY DAY!!!

Was this film in any way similar to 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies' (2014) or 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' (2015)?

A most violent year.

Loved it. Oscar Isaac is a very underrated actor. Very well crafted film.

Finally completed Isadora (1968) 6/10

second half was not that good but the way she died was tragic

Watched Tanu weds Manu returns here in New York

First half - Unexpectedly hilarious. Couldn't stop laughing throughout!
Second half- Meh!!

In all, a decent watch. And yeah, Kangana Ranaut is really good :)

'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' (2015)

An okay-ish film, but by no means even half good as its prequel. The hype is beyond me though. It´s a sort of film where you wait, wait and wait for 'that' moment, which never comes. Reviews make it sound like the greatest film ever!

'The Best of Me' (2014)

A good film I thought. I watched this at the recommendation of a female friend.

It has to be added though that a lot of credit should go to its ending for making it overall a good film. It wasn't boring as it may seem initially, given its story.

Watched half of action jackson today.

1/10

Maybe i'll give it another 1 point if i watch the second half

Same here the ending became predictable aftrr intrrval 5/10

Wrong Turn 6

As expected lots of blood, guts and gore.

Not the best of this series, but worth a watch for horror film fans

5/10

'Bombay Velvet' (2015)

Perhaps it´s down to his experiences as director, Karan Johar never looked making his debut and acted quite well I thought (one gay-ish dialogue of his was funny:)) ). However, the film itself was below average, very long and boring.

Finally... Fight Club (1999).

I'm not going to say it was mind-blowing, or spectacularly wonderful - but I will say that the movie had possibly some of the best acting I've ever seen (which may not be that much, since I'm not too big on movies). Violent, disturbing and probably not something you're gonna idolise, but it's compelling in it's own weird way, and even though I don't agree with it's message or some of the portrayals, I'm still glad I saw it.

8/10.

Thats one of the best movies i have ever seen. I will give that a 9.5. Some of the dialogues in the movie sound like divine truth and wisdom lol

Poltergiest, pretty much your average run of the mill horror movie.

4/10

At least, I was with the love of my life

I kind of didn't like the end that much.. And how Fight Club turned into Project Mayham - that should have been a bit more detailed imho.. But apart from that, I would still recommend it because the theme is definitely an important one, and it's conveyed in it's own distinct, violent style which is compelling in itself :)

Hansee to Phansee 4/10

too long and add to it the mute voice of hero was really difficult to understand sometime, also not a fan of last minute reversals which really was not required nothing special tbh i think this was also Parineeti's one of 3 film deal with YRF, she looked fat n ugly

Parineeta not choosing movies wisely , she is good actress , but needs better director to explore her talent.

Mad Max was so mediocre it annoyed me, really wanted it to be great too.

Tom Hardy's comedy accent changing three times in one scene and crappy dubbing didn't help matters.

This is what I mean. I still don't understand the fuss about it. I have given it serious thought and I can't come up with any reason why it's getting such rave reviews, besides perhaps Nostalgic critics and fans.

I'm neither nostalgic about this series nor a fan of it, but I loved it. To each their own I guess.

Big Hero 6

A solid, enjoyable animated adventure that has its moments. Not on the same level as many of Pixars films or Disneys best like HTTYD or Shrek IMO, but definitely worth a watch.

I dont buy the nostalgia angle. I have very fond memories of the Mel Gibson movies and I was really looking forward to it after hearing George Miller was in charge and they had relied on practical effects as much as possible. They made all the right noises but the end result was just so...meh.

I won't remember a thing from the movie other than Tom Hardy's comedy accent and that total don with the guitar.

Lol. It's good to know someone else also feels similarly about this. I started to doubt what I had seen.

The guitar guy was so ridiculous. The acting was bad, especially on the part of the breeders. Was that on purpose? Is Miller trying to do a Tarantino by deliberately directing bad scenes?

Who knows.

Well wasn't one of them the model turned actress that was in transformers after Megan Fox? Cant expect much on the acting front there tbh.

Cant emphasise how ridiculous and awesome the flamethrower guitar in front of the giant speaker setup was. My favourite part of the movie by far.

Transformers first one

1/10 what a crappy concept of vehicles turning into machines.. Should have been an animations kids movie

Predestination. Had this on the HDD for a few months but finally got around to watch it.

What a mind-***k ride it was.

Loved the twist and turn of the storyline.

Mass- Tamil movie.

It was better than I thought it would be. I really liked it. Obviously I went with zero expectation since it is a Tamil movie. But this was a bit different. I defintely recommend it.

Have you watched it ? sensible-indian-fan

Dont get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but it just doesnt have the same impact as other animated films IMO. The side characters are kinda bland (that Fred guy was unbelievably annoying throughout the film), the story is pretty obvious, the villain is barely in the film and not really memorable and by the end it just felt like a typical superhero clone (Only realised after the credits its based on a Marvel comic so I guess all the complaints make sense since most Marvel films suck).

It has its moments for sure, but I feel it was good and nothing really more.

As for Sherlocks recommendation, that trailer looks decent, might check it out

Believe my Cozzie, it's very good, albeit a low budget film. The twist is very good yet a disturbing one :)

4.5/10

A very muddled and confused movie about a guy who comes to inherit a large house which has a dark secret. The poster suggests a Gremlins-ripoff when in reality, it is a weird mix of Gremlins and those 'satanic rituals gone wrong' movies. Some utterly horrible acting is masked by a reasonably smooth pace and some crazy scenes.

Overall, a highly forgettable horror comedy which somehow got PG-13 despite some graphic violence.

Have you seen Maggie or read review? Is it any good?

Btw can you also recommend shows similar to Dexter,The Mentalist or Hannibal? You know crime related with lots of suspense and thrill.

Maggie has received mixed reviews but Arnold has been praised for a genuinely good performance.

Dexter was a very unique show much like Hannibal. But if you want crime thriller shows, Burn Notice would be a good place to start. A bit more lighthearted but can get serious too.

The Following is a guilty pleasure because it's very entertaining but characters do a lot of stupid stuff to get violently killed. Plus it's got Kevin bacon. It got cancelled recently but you can give it a shot.

Interstellar.

Finally got a chance to watch the movie.
One word. . . Genius

BAYMAX. THE MOST ADORABLE ANIMATED CHAR TO EVER EXIST! BAYMAX!

I stand vindicated, Donny. What have you become?

De..sixth sense and kanchana combina panni oru script..and venkat prabhu claims he has done something innovative..cant understand why surya acts in such movies..

Can someone pls watch Finding Nemo for me and tell me if they found him or not. Started watching it but then the power went out. It's important. Thanks.

Insidious 3.

Not as scary/good as the original, but a big improvement on the 2nd film, some shocking jumps and genuine chills backed up by a warm-hearted atmosphere and dream performance from Lin Shaye.

Really enjoyed it! 3.5 stars out of 5.

contamination-poster.preview.jpg

Imagine revolving a whole movie around the chestbuster scene from Alien. Now imagine adding cheesy buddy cop humour and a generic spy mystery along with horrible dubbing, a lot of gore and shoddy acting, then you get Contamination.

If you are still reading, then you can watch this slice of half-decent mozzarella schlock.

6/10

Nah, Baymax is nothing compared to Toothless. I mean he's fine, but like the film as a whole he's not particularly memorable IMO.

What have I become? I've always been like this. Bitter, resentful, a depressed old man :baelish

C'mon Disney, release HTTYD3 already!!

Donal Cozzie: Word. So formulaic. BL has not yet made one good recommendation on this thread. Just imagine how much time she has cumulatively wasted for people on here.

To be fair BL doesnt watch many films from what I can tell.

But yeah, film was pretty standard stuff, liked Hadashi though, wished he was in it more.

Hell a film based on the undeground robot fighting league would've been better

any suggestions

(Qualifier: should be on netflix)

Well we cant recommend anything half decent then can we?

Come on there must be something!!

i have been googling top 10 movies on netflix lol.
