What was the last film you watched?

'Slumdog Millionaire' 2008

Heard a lot about this film but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. It was a good film, no doubt, but is way overratted in my opinion. From the very first 15 to 20 minutes the film gets very predictable and boring:22:. Anil Kapoor, who plays as the host of the TV programme KBC and is a Bollywood star himself, plays a rubbish and senseless role:boom:!

Watching Spot-Fixing Saga starring Salman Butt, Mohammad Aamer, and Mohammad Asif in lead roles. Absolutely hate it.
 
Taxi To The Dark Side

Harrowing documentary about American tourture methods at Baghram and Guantanamo Bay- focusing particularaly on a young taxi driver Bilawal.

A must watch.
 
No one killed jessica! absolutely brilliant 9/10! shows how efed up the indian judicial system is

I watched No one killed Jessica too.

Good movie, but very strong language used. Definitely an 'A' certification necessary and probably is.

But as is always the case with Bollywood, lawyers and the judicial system are portrayed in the poorest way possible. :(
 
Aftershock- based on the 1976 earthquake in Tangshan, China.

The film focuses on a girl seperated from her mother/brother.

Very touching.
 
A Wednesday (2008)

Bakwas Indian Movie. Idea was good but a COMMON MAN cannot make BOMB and plant it in a restricted area that is 'RUNWAY' as well as making anonymous phone calls. You need to be super smart to do that. 5/10
 
Anyone seen Yamla Pagla Deewana yet? Planning of going to the movies in a bit to watch an indian movie at the cinema after a good 2 months or so! Will write how it was later on tonight probably!

Yes so I went to watch Yamla Pagla Deewana last night, I thought it was pretty ok actually a typical bollywood film made me laugh a fair bit as being a comedy movie! The 3 Deol's were good in their roles especially Dharam :D

I'd give it like 7/10.
 
I felt sorry for Dharmendra personally, was acting like an orangutan.

the things you do for your kids...

he did deliver some class one-liners though.

True :)). I was going to show that scene to my class as part of a project. But thought it was kind of inappropriate. didn't wanted to offend anyone :))
 
Pulling for Inception for best movie, Christan Bale for best supporting actor in The fighter, Social Network for best director tonight at the Golden Globes. I hope Christan bale also wins the Oscar too !!!!

Awards were so social,that dom cobb could not incept the jury members.Otherwise how could one ever explain even Trent reznor getting even the best original score over hans zimmer.

Inception not getting a single award as very unfair.

But I am 250% sure that Inception and toy story 3 will rip through the Oscars. Mark my words.
these Golden globes were just there to make the other hits happy. But none of those hits come close to Inception.

Hope so.i am sure it will rip through the technical categories.But it must surely get the original score,best director or best picture.

except best actor. That should go to Leo for Shutter Island. another gem by him--very underrated movie.

great movie.. hate Ben Affleck..but he's a good director, and acting in this one was class

Watched two movies last week.

Little Fockers - I thought it was a nice movie. It was as expected, a light-hearted comedy film that makes you laugh. It wasn't as good as the Meet the Fockers, but it was alright.

The Fighter - This was an amazing movie. Simple as that. Fantastic from start to finish. Christian Bale was brilliant and Wahlberg didn't disappoint either. Worth a watch - no doubt about it.

Why everything showed are so European of victorian style? Even if the story location is Goa, I am not sure if Goa was ever so much european (dressings, house, culture).

this is probably the most disturbing movie i have seen recently.. its sick, but kinda awesome..must watch

This is the remake...the original is apparently even more sick/disturbing.
 
Shutter Island,7/10
I don't know why people say it's better the Inceptions, in Inceptions the two ending possibilities are balanced and equally likely, In shutter island its difficult to say if he really was sane, most people would go with insane
 
Watched The Green Hornet.

It was hilarious. Seth Rogan is awesome. Chinese guy was pretty good, as well.
 
Just watched Aamir Khan's Taare Zameen Par with my dad as he hadn't seen it and he really enjoyed. I have seen it before but sat through it with him and once again I really enjoyed watching it myself. A brilliant film that deserves 10/10!

The next movie on my list to show him is Aamir Khan's Peepli Live

green hornet 8/10 very good really funny at times

grown ups 7/10 good movie with an excellent cast but could have been waaaaaaaaay funnier.
 
Dhobi Ghat - fazool, tried to be all touching and artistic, but failed terribly.

It was a bit on the Indian phast bowler side (slow)

But i actually liked it a LOT! Amir's diary was quite interesting.
